Talk about the matchups or just list the final 4, but take this bracket and share who you have winning each regional. They're geographically divided into West, Midwest, and 2 Southeast....all-time great teams from the past 54 years.
PLEASE DO NOT COMPARE THEM AS 350 LB LINEMEN FROM TODAY LINING UP AGAINST 220 LB LINEMEN FROM THE 70S........think of each player as a quality rating.
ie - 1971 Nebraska DT Jacobson might not ever get a sack lining up against 2001 Miami OT McKinnie if they both physically lined up in their primes, but as a 98 out of 100 player Jacobson vs a 98/100 rated McKinnie, he'd have his successes over the course of a game.
Okay, here's the bracket....
West/Midwest Region 1:
.
71 Neb
23 Mich
.
88 ND
89 Colo
.
77 Tex
95 Neb
.
76 Pitt
02 OSU
---------------so the winner of the first pair would play the winner of the 2nd pair and so on
Region 2
.
72 USC
05 Tex
.
85 OU
91 Wash
.
83 Neb
94 PSU
.
74 OU
04 USC
------------------------
Southeast - Region 3
.
79 Bama
22 UGA
.
08 Fla
09 Bama
.
96 Fla
16 Clem
.
93 FSU
18 Clem
--------------------
Regional 4:
.
87 Mia
20 Bama
.
01 Mia
10 Aub
.
99 FSU
13 FSU
.
91 Mia
19 LSU
-
West/Midwest Region 1:
.
71 Neb
23 Mich
.
88 ND
89 Colo
.
77 Tex
95 Neb
.
76 Pitt
02 OSU

The reason I posted this is to try to see some other's thought processes, not a argue right or wrong debate.
So like in picking 02 OSU over 76 Pitt, I'd guess that Pitt being so one-dimensional would play into the Buckeyes' defense's hands? Dorsett might get his yards, but maybe the red zone gives the Panthers trouble?
What were your thoughts?
I had the same 2 teams in the end. Seeing Earl Campbell vs the 95 Husker D would be cool.
I don't think 23 UM's offense does anything against the 71 Huskers.

Maybe breaking them up into individual posts is easier to swallow and yous guys can just pick one region to opine on.
Region 2
.
72 USC
05 Tex
.
85 OU
91 Wash
.
83 Neb
94 PSU
.
74 OU
04 USC
-
Southeast - Region 3
.
79 Bama
22 UGA
.
08 Fla
09 Bama
.
96 Fla
16 Clem
.
93 FSU
18 Clem
-
Regional 4:
.
87 Mia
20 Bama
.
01 Mia
10 Aub
.
99 FSU
13 FSU
.
91 Mia
19 LSU
-
Region 1: 1995 Nebraska - Best college football team of all time
Region 2: 2005 Texas - Second best college football team of all time
Region 3: I really don't find anything compelling here. Any of them would get trounced by the two above
Region 4: oof, '01 Miami vs. 2019 LSU is a helluva matchup. Too close to call. I'll go with LSU because I hate Miami.

It wouldn't include the Wolverines.
