Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl2023 Tom Selleck Reverse Mortgage Bowl?
Really, ffs yup nothing screams integrity and tradition like that
Could we not have arranged for FSU v Iowa?I'd blame Hawkinole
LSU vs Wisconsin in Tampa. Is there enough alcohol in that town? There's enough strip clubs.
Badge, you gonna drive up for that one?
LSU vs Wisconsin in Tampa. Is there enough alcohol in that town?Maybe. We leave for Cabo soon after that so I'm not sure. I'll keep an eye on prices for good tickets. Right now the good seats are at $400.00. That's not gonna happen. Not to mention.. when in Tampa, must go here:

After 29 straight, you aren't used to an L. So you tend to make excuses and claim "it wasn't fair". Meh, it happened, life goes on. I'm pretty realistic, usually, and am now. I'm just 'amused' with how an orange bowl is a disappointment. I wonder how many players will opt out.(https://i.imgur.com/bux4pZd.jpg)
LSU vs Wisconsin in Tampa. Is there enough alcohol in that town?I strongly dislike making that bowl.
Badge, you gonna drive up for that one?
Dr. Tom Osborne once said, "My toughest job is to convince the fans that 10-1 was not a losing season"Sounds like Spurrier when he left Florida.
On paper, is Liberty the worst G5 representative to ever appear in a NY6 bowl? That Pitt team that lost 35-7 to an Alex Smith-led Utah team was prettyyyyy bad.
Wasn't there a 7-5 UConn team one year?I think they were 8-4. 8-5 after the bowl. That might be the answer if you were asking who was the worst P6 team to play in a BCS Bowl.
Yeah, I was just thinking of worst AQ team
I think I read the 65-7 was the largest bowl game blow out. I'd guess in regular bowl games, once it's 38-7 the horses get pulled and pulled again.A lot of the large blowouts appear to be in championship games. Figured the playoff would eliminate the one "fluke" undefeated participant.
Gophers to Detroit vs Bowling Green on Christmas +1. I guess I'm going down to Ford Field that day.
Noticed Minnesota getting a bowl bid and thought “aren’t they 5-7?” Turns out there weren’t enough teams to fill all bowl slots and Minnesota was next in line due to good grades:I wish they had waited for Army/Navy. One of those teams will meet the true criteria as both are 5-6 now.
“NCAA rules allow five-win teams to fill spots, with the order determined by Academic Progress Rate (APR) score from the most recent reporting period...Minnesota also qualified for a bowl in 2015 with a 5-7 record on the strength of its APR score.”

But then again part of me wants Nebraska to make a bowl because that would make Fearless happy. You want Fearless to have to go to Detroit?
We all know the pluses of having your team make a bowl game, any bowl game, and they are fairly significant. Some of us think it's a time to play mostly underclassmen, maybe give the uppers a couple series if they want. We get AP rankings after the bowls which now makes little sense, to me. We've gone back to the Olden Times.Hell, I just like having random but still somewhat meaningful, or at least useful, college football on in the afternoon during that week between Christmas and NYD. Between opt outs, guys already in the portal, and coaching changes, this is truly just watching laundry
I wish they had waited for Army/Navy. One of those teams will meet the true criteria as both are 5-6 now. It's the Academies' fault for pushing their game so far back. They used to play it on rivalry weekend, and for a while played it on CCG weekend.
It's the Academies' fault for pushing their game so far back. They used to play it on rivalry weekend, and for a while played it on CCG weekend.Yeah, I like it having its own slot, but then you have to be ok with this, which I kind of thought they were.
They felt it was too important to be lost in the wash so they pushed it out yet another week, beyond the CCGs and bowl selection. That's entirely on them.
I was musing, if UGA wins say, they'd likely finish 3-4-5 in the rankings, which I suppose is a something, if they lost, they'd likely be 8-9-10. They might lose because half the team opted out, or half the team didn't care, or the coach played the scrubs.
It's all a bit weird to me, now.
I used to think a top 5 finish was a bit of a thing. "Hey, we finished in the top 5 3 years running!". Yeah, great, here's a cookie.
You want Fearless to have to go to Detroit?Fearless isn't going to Detroit.
Yup, winning 2 national championships in a row will do that to ya. "Just" finishing in the top 5 is a big disappointment now. Meanwhile, the rest of us all wish we had your problems. That IS part of it, but I feel similar about my team and Ohio State hasn't won a NC since 2014.
Fearless isn't going to Detroit. You are not THAT fearless?
I have always thought once they get to the 5-7 teams, they should take the 5-7 team that has gone the longest time without a bowl. That would be the team with the fans most excited to go to a bowl. Minnesota went to a bowl last year and lost their last 4 games this year. Is there any Minnesota fan excited to go to Detroit for a bowl this year?i am excited for the Minn bowl game also glad they are not playing on a freaking baseball field
On the other hand, being an Iowa fan, there is a part of me that likes that Nebraska has not gone to a bowl since 2016 and wants to see that streak keep going, and I want Iowa to be the team that keeps Nebraska out of a bowl each time.
But then again part of me wants Nebraska to make a bowl because that would make Fearless happy.
Fearless isn't going to Detroit. How about Flushing New York for the Tidy Bowl? Or are the 'Skers portaling to the MAC?
But, Rhule and his team going to Detroit would make Rhule happy for the extra practice reps and game reps.
If Rhule is happy everyone is happy
You are not THAT fearless?I haven't lived in Michigan in nearly 20 years, but I do go back for events. The area around the stadiums is very nice, and I've heard the addition of the new Wings/Pistons arena has only made it better. I actually went to a wedding down there in 2019, and was shocked how nice it was. When I was in high school, you would have never gone to Detroit to go eat. It was Tigers game, and get the hell out of there.
are you excited enough to attend?i would if I had the money which i dont nor the time off
