70s games were freakin' boring.
"Hey, we're going to run it up the middle 3 times and you see if you can stop us. And you do the same.
We're going to try to out-tough you. No strategy implemented at all. Whoever has the most grit in their teeth in the end is the winner."
"Deal!"

1901
11-0 record
550-0 points for and against
Nobody went to play skool.

You didn't read the poll, did you?
-
I chose to ignore that part.

Clearly, the 2021 Michigan team was their best ever, only that one rather embarassing loss.
-
1973 - nope. Bama or ND would beat them.
1976 - nope. USC beat them, and Pitt would have.
1985 - nope. OU would beat them.
1997 - nope. UNL would have beat them.
2022 - nope. Obvious.
1901 it is.

Which one?
-
1901 it is.
The thread title is "best of all time", which includes of course Yost teams, despite the later remark, which is irrelevant.

Okay, pretend 1901's team died in a plane crash.
Oh wait.
Nevermind.
-
Plane crash in 1901?
Wright brothers were a little late for that one.

I'm beginning to enjoy this thread

Who knows where Hitler was born?
Not on 3rd base

Not on 3rd base
Nope. At home plate in Austria, right about the time Michigan started playing football. Hmmm..
-
Who knows where Hitler was born?
Ann Arbor??
-
Ann Arbor is Spanish for 'Birthplace of Hitler"

Did I become an Ohio State fan just now?
-
don't fight it

Did I become an Ohio State fan just now?
Why not, I can be convinced Ohio State is Florida's spirit animal. Alabama is Michigan's, but without academic standards.

De Ohio St.

Now I'm imagining if Florida was the only major program in the state, a la OSU.
We'd have 11 NCs and 8 Heisman winners. Must be nice to be the only show in town.
Growing up, I preferred UM. Better helmets and fight song. And UM beat the nut things every year. Better mascot, by far. As a kid, your mascot matters.

Gatorama was both a Michigan and Florida fan.
