If I'm a DC against the Gators, the biggest thing I'd be worried about would be Etienne and our FR juke stick ATH Wilson being on the field together.
Well, Etienne is still somehow a backup and Wilson prob doesn't know the whole playbook.
Johnson is a very good RB, he really is. But he's appreciably not as good as Etienne. Trying to defend 2 guys with good speed and great wiggle would put a lot of pressure on the defense, but Florida doesn't seem interested in that.
Ugh.

I haven't watched Florida much, but when I have, Etienne seems to be the guy. Surprised they're not using him more.

Sticking with the theme.....
What's frustrating is that if we had almost any other LSU defense of the past 20 years--even weaker ones like 2013 or 2021--we would almost certainly beat this Alabama team. This is the most vulnerable I can remember Alabama since Saban's first year there in '07. Paired with easily the second best offense LSU has ever had. Even a mediocre defense to throw at these guys would probably get the job done.
We're not likely to see an offense like this again anytime soon. It certainly won't coincide with a Bama team with this many problems.
It's like the football gods just don't want us to beat the Tide, so they play cruel jokes on us.

You're frustrated? HA! trade ya! I suspect the game today will make you feel better :57:

Florida's recruiting class will keep the coach employed another year I think. But whether incoming freshmen can fill their holes in a year is another story, and that class COULD start to disappear if they finish 5-7.
