Interesting test. The Hilltoppers led the nation in passing last season despite being a group of 5 team. They are top five in all passing categories again this season.
They pass the pill all over the yard- and have an NFL bound QB ( Austin Reed) and a likely first round NFL Wr ( Malachi Corley).
It should be a fun watch, and WKU will likely not play keep away ( run the clock down on every play) as OSU’s first 2 opponents did.
-
Definitely a different test for the defense. WKU was pretty soft on defense against South Florida - likely the worst defense we will see. Hopefully they get a little unsprung.
-
I think Ohio State will be just fine guys. There will be blood. And it will be WKU's.

I'd say they led it because they were a group of 5 team, not despite. MSU played them a couple years ago when they had a QB who got drafted, and just kind of let them move between the 20s.
They scored a couple of late TDs to make it look a little closer, but WKU out gained MSU, put up nearly 600 yards of offense, and was still down 45-16 in the 4th quarter

OSU 37-17

The other Bowling Green?

I think OSU's D gets exposed this week. Gives up 3 or 4 scores.
I think OSU Offense still needs to gel. Has to punt it 3 or 4 times.
I think OSU fans leave the stadium constipated because it's still a game late in the 3rd quarter.
-
I agree that the Buckeye defense will probably give up some points here. The Buckeye offense will look better as Kyle McCord will be much more comfortable this week. WKU defense is really bad, and the Buckeyes will get a lot more possessions this week than previous weeks. I'm thinking 38-17 here.

Yes- WKU scores 45 per game. I don’t think anyone is keeping them off the scoreboard no matter how good the defense.
I would be impressed if they keep them at half of that- so long as they put up high 30s or more on their side.

I just don't think this game is gonna be close even for a quarter. OSU rolls and builds momentum for next week. don't think we'll really learn anything about this Ohio State QB, OL, or defense until they go to South Bend next week.

Depends on how they are willing to play it. It's basically the same deal as when MSU played them 2 years ago, with probably a slighty worse QB, but a slightly better WR group. MSU let them rack up nearly 600 yards, but just didn't give up the big play, and shut them down in the red zone. It was 45-16 in the 4th quarter before WKU scored a couple of garbage time TDs. As long as OSU is willing to give up yards underneath to limit big plays, it'll be about the same.

I'm thinking 17-14 at half
24-17 at some point in the 3rd.
Then OSU's talent, depth, & conditioning allow them to pull away by a couple scores.

If OSU only scores 17 points in a half, that is a MAJOR concern

Last game to work out the kinks before going to South Bend. Most Buckeye fans are hoping for a blow out but will have to settle for just a plain solid win.
Western Kentucky 17
Ohio State 38

I would agree with that assessment. OSU is going to light up the scoreboard in this one imo. They have to get things clicking on offense and ramped up here because next week @South Bend they'll need to score points to keep pace with Sam Hartman. ND is going to score on OSU. OSU will need to match.

Ohio State looked like Ohio State. It should be a great game in South Bend.
