Unlike last week there are no league games this weekend. Nobody has the week off either so there are 14 games involving B1G teams this weekend but it is a pretty lackluster schedule. Only IL (KU), UNL (CU), PU (VaTech)and UW (WSU) are on the road with the other 10 teams hosing and most will be favored by easily double digits:
Friday, September 8:
- Indiana hosts FCS Indiana State at 7pm on BTN
- Illinois visits Kansas at 7:30 on ESPN2
Saturday, September 9:
- #5 Ohio State hosts FCS YSU at noon on BTN
- #7 Penn State hosts FCS Delaware at noon on Peacock
- Nebraska visits #22 Colorado at noon on Fox
- Purdue visits VaTech at noon on ESPN2
- #2 Michigan hosts UNLV at 3:30 on CBS (the fact that this blowout will be nationally televised gives you an idea how weak the national schedule is)
- Iowa visits Iowa State at 3:30 on FOX first one to double digits wins?
- Michigan State hosts FCS Richmond at 3:30 on BTN
- Northwestern hosts UTEP at 3:30 on BTN. UTEP is a frequent resident in ESPN's Bottom Ten and yet I heard that they are favored, Northwestern is that much of a mess.
- Wisconsin visits Washington State at 7:30 on ABC
- Maryland hosts FCS Charlotte at 7:30 on NBC
- Minnesota hosts the fighting Emu's of Eastern Michigan University at 7:30 on BTN
- Rutgers hosts Temple at 7:30 on BTN
From a quick look at the national schedule the only ranked vs ranked games I could see were:
- #20 Ole Miss at #24 Tulane at 3:30 on ESPN2
- #11 Texas at #3 Alabama at 7 on ESPN
The Texas/Bama tilt would be huge regardless but it is even bigger as it will be the last non-SEC game between these two and serves as a preview of a soon-to-be SEC rivalry. The drop-off from there to Ole Miss / Tulane is severe and that's it.

Indiana hosts FCS Indiana State at 7pm on BTN - Indiana *SHOULD* beat an FCS team...but wouldn't shock me if they lost.
Illinois visits Kansas at 7:30 on ESPN2 - Illinois is losing this game imo.
#5 Ohio State hosts FCS YSU at noon on BTN - LOL. Ohio State
#7 Penn State hosts FCS Delaware at noon on Peacock - LOL. Penn State.
Nebraska visits #22 Colorado at noon on Fox - Nebraska is gonna lose.
Purdue visits VaTech at noon on ESPN2 - Purdue is probably gonna lose.
#2 Michigan hosts UNLV at 3:30 on CBS - LOL. Michigan.
Iowa visits Iowa State at 3:30 on FOX - gimme Iowa
Michigan State hosts FCS Richmond - LOL. MSU.
Northwestern hosts UTEP at 3:30 - UTEP.
Wisconsin visits Washington State at 7:30 - Wisconsin.
Maryland hosts FCS Charlotte at 7:30 on NBC - Maryland.
Minnesota hosts the fighting Emu's of Eastern Michigan University - Minnesota.
Rutgers hosts Temple at 7:30 on BTN - Rutgers.
#20 Ole Miss at #24 Tulane at 3:30 on ESPN2 - gimme Tulane.
#11 Texas at #3 Alabama at 7 on ESPN - I'm probably an idiot for picking them, but I think Texas gets it done. Ewers is gonna have his best game yet. He better. Texas is stacked at WR, has a veteran OL. He was dealing vs them last year before getting knocked out of the game. This was the "greatest QB recruit ever".... bout time he showed something.

Amen, brutha.

I mean, it's all set up for him. If not now, then when? He's a 3rd year college player, 2nd year starting in Sark's system, Texas is absolutely loaded at WR with #1 WR Xavier Worthy (breaks my heart, still), 5* transfer AD Mitchell, 5* freshman Cook (remember him bc Michigan was trying hard af to get in on him), and that TE Sanders is a dude. The OL is experienced, that LT is being projected as a future 1st rd pick and he's not even draft eligible yet. Only ? on offense is replacing the RB, but that shouldn't ever be hard to find at least a good one at a place like Texas- don't need another Bijan with everything else they have on offense. And I'm pretty sure Texas brought in 5*, #1 RB in 2023- and well if there is one position that recruiting sites typically nail and that is also easy af for freshman to play it's RB. Not to mention his head coach is a guy who develops QBs with the best of them....might not be a great head coach....but he can coach QBs and scheme up offense with the best of them.
If Ewers doesn't really hit this year and take off....I'll be shocked.

From your mouth to Sark's ears. :)
I think we'll be okay at RB, we have a lot of talent there. As you say, we don't need another Bijan.

As you correctly noted later in your post, Iowa is on the road too at Iowa State. So essentially 5 out of 7 Big Ten West teams have OOC road games this weekend. Which makes sense since the West gets 5 conference games at home this year. But you would think the Big Ten would schedule a couple of conference games each week for TV purposes. But they didn't which is how Charlotte at MD ended up being the Sat night NBC game.
One other note. Charlotte is not an FCS school. They play in the AAC along with Temple, USF, Memphis, Tulane, SMU, etc.

As always I'll be pulling for my ISU brethren against their hated big brother.

I don't think Charlotte is FCS...
