...Ron Franklin calling Saturday night SEC games.

The Track People outside Sanford Stadium pre1981.

Tin beer cans and church keys. There was a time when crushing a beer can in your hand was a manly thing. That was before the aluminum can became prevalent.
-
Keith Jackson calling all the big games and Rose Bowl. It's just not the same.
-
I know Jackson was a Wazzou guy and announced PAC games forever, but for me, he sounded pretty southern and was just a big-game guy. Florida-FSU, SECCGs, etc.
-
Jackson was born and raised in Georgia near Carrollton. The Marines and the GI Bill got him to Wazzou.

i miss UT having a shot at (any) title every season. I miss the comrade of games and the lack of animosity with opposing fans. i miss the old SEC board where this was shared, as opposed to team boards where saying anything good about an opponent or bad about the team would get you dismissed.

I believe his wife was from the West Coast and that had something to do with where he wound up

Crunch, getting Fro's goat.

More so than him bothering me, at least near the end, was everyone's affinity for his presence. I still don't understand it to this day.
He was predictable. A blind homer.
Honestly, everyone could take turns pretending to be him and post outrageous, pro-UT crap and it'd be no different than if he were still here.

The best munchies food in history-DooDads! Chex Mix is a pale imitator. DooDads had peanuts and Cheese-Nips and were baked in a much better mixture of tangy. Evidently, whoever made Chex began refusing to sell Chex cereal to Nabisco because they wanted to start selling Chex Mix.
