What do Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, VaTech, and Pitt have in common?
-
They all would have beaten TCU last night

They all would have beaten TCU last night
Well maybe, but not what I was looking for.
-
Hint, involves the CFP.
-
They have all beaten a team that won the CFP championship later that season
-
JT Daniels will play for all of them before his eligibility expires.

The last Mark Richt team was like 8-5 right? So I assume that year
-
Nyeh. I think Kirby lost to GT his first year. otherwise, I'd say GT or the Clemson, BSU losses earlier under Richt.

Is it just a card that says "you lose"?
-
No, that's what '45 Army says.
The Seahawks team is good, though. 13 of their 20 running plays are 5 yards or more.
I probably spent more time creating them than any other. Because I wanted to.

Trivia!!!
.
We're all aware of Georgia's recent success and elite defense during these past few years. The stats bear that out and the Dawgs have ranked in the top 5 (P5) in rush defense each of the past 4 years.
.
What is the only other team to do so? (not Bama)
*P5 only

Wisconsin is my guess here, for the past 4 years.
-
I prefer your guess
-
Clemson
-
nope nope nope
Wisconsin's done it the past 2 years.
Clemson only ini 2020.
-
the Hawkeyes

Wouldn’t have initially thought of them but that’s a good guess.

I didn't initially think of them either

Nope.
Iowa has done it twice in the last 4 years, including #1 in 2022.
.
Okay, here's your hint: the program is pretty non-descript, but has consistently produced very productive D-linemen the past 10-15 years.
-
Do we get 2 guesses,cause i haven't used a search engine?Yet

I just looked it up and saw that UW was top 5 among P5 during the four years. Or are including G5 in the overall rank?

I'm sorry, I used ypc average, not overall yards per game allowed. I should have specified that.
-
Pittsburgh
BINGO!
-
2022 Resident Genius!
-

Gotcha.
Yeah, lots of teams just quit trying to run on them.
-
I'd quit trying to run on Pitt with that impressive ypc average
-
Pitt was terrible at passing defense. #77 on the NCAA website.
Take what the D gives ya.
-
Tough to do when you have an ACC QB
-
Pittsburgh
Boooooo!!!!
Nah, that surprises me. I knew the last couple of years they have had really good defenses. Wouldn’t have ever guessed top 5 rush defense 4 years in a row.
-
Pitt plays that old MSU style.
In theory it's a base cover-4, but they can trigger both safeties up into run support pretty quick, which makes for a high-risk, high-reward pass game and some good run defenses.
-
Wisconsin about halfway to blowing the last bit of a slim at-large hope.
Just fumbling balls, missing shots, getting roasted on defense. (Reffing isn't the cause, but also, just awful)
-
That's one of the worst things you can watch when it comes to sports. Your school is on the bubble and they lose 3 out of 4 or just need 1 win in the conference tournament and get blown out.
Just brutal.

And it was horrible, until MSU was able to stock their entire secondary with all Big Ten players. Pitt has been unable to do that

I need to look back. I think they had 1-2 defenses that were real nice. But the rest have been on the struggle bus.
-

I watched the last few minutes of game. Wisconsin kept trying to give the game away and Minnesota just kept saying, “No, you guys win. We insist.”
-
I love games like that reminds of the old cartoons with the chipmunks insisting the other go 1st or get their way.Handing the ball back-n-forth
-
And it was horrible, until MSU was able to stock their entire secondary with all Big Ten players. Pitt has been unable to do that
I think he's too into using his system on D. Like 3-4 times a game he'd call a zone blitz and the secondary would just jump routes and blow things up, CBs were pretty good, just not all great at man-to-man all the time.
Its usually down to D gets sacks/pressures, the Pitt D is damn good. Good OLs, and/or accurate passers who can get the ball out quickly destroy that D.
Strangely Narduzzi has had the 2 best Pitt offenses since 1980. And the Nate Peterman/Conner/Shovel pass offense was one of the funnest offenses of any team in recent memory. He goes through OCs like crazy but usually gets one to fit the personell.
