Good morning all.
Today is WING Day in the 847 house.
Still no internet, so rabbit ears will do the trick.
PSU/M at Noon, UW/MSU at 3:30, USC/Utah late.
-
Got invited on a hike, but decided the rather long drive was not a good choice. Trying to motivate myself for a run.
Meal plans involve a large cache of leftovers and a trip to a bar with the local set of alums. We're trying to keep it low-key this weekend ahead of a trip to the 'Shoe. We'll see if we can make that happen.
-
I forgot where you are living now. Is there an alumni chapter?
-
Texas-Iowa State at 11 on ABC. Ags are off this weekend. I'm sure I'll watch some of Alabama - UTenn later.
Lunch will be a hogepodge but for dinner I've got some mesquite splits and some prime steaks that will meet up.

HA yes I've been on them a year and half.Recently purchased a smart TV so I'll see what I can squeeze out of that. The OTA actually gets a better picture than Cable and it was explained to me why.The picture difference is the 1st thing I noticed when plugging in.Of course there is a lot of fussing finding good reception spots sometimes, Fox/CBS can be fussy at least in my location also being close to a cell tower can scramble things to like when they went from 4g-5g I lost some channels.Anyway interesting games
Got the Black Coffee on,Won't be seeing "FORE!" from new Father-In-Law Fearless today!
Some good games on the docket Today here are just a few
Michigan PSU
Bama-Rocky Top(Good Luck Drew)
Goophs-Illini
#8 OK St-#13 TCU
#15 NC ST-#18'Cuse
#16 Miss St-#22 KY
#7USC-#20 Utes

Lots of great games today and normally I would be operating two TV's outside and one inside.
Oh well. One TV with the rabbit ears it be.
-
I have two inside and one outside, that I can watch from the pool. It's still hot here in Texico, at least for another couple days, so one guess as to where I'll be most of the day. :)
-
Up in WI this weekend as wife does some Board Certification renewal class. Will see some childhood friends and find some TVs for some of these games. Nice to be able to take minors into bars in this state for this purpose specifically.
-
One of the guys I have Gopher tickets with is in Knoxville today, and will be going to Bama-Tennessee. For his sake I hope that banshee from Nashville doesn't make the trip over.
Not much football here today. Maybe watch a little of the Gophers but not planning on it. It's been a crazy 3 weeks for us and we need an off week.

To hell with swimming come on up here and rake Acorns, much better excercize - seriously.I feel like I'm in the movie "Ground Hog's Day" Nite after Nite after Nite 2-Oaks about 15-20 ft away from the house dropping BUSHELLS of acorns about half the size of a golf balls on to the house every time the wind blows.Talk about sleep deprivation.Squirrels are keeling over in the back yard trying to make off with the Mother Lode. From what I've read they are Northern Red Oaks.Wonder if there are old recipe's calling for Acorn stew/broth and how it is much better than beets and kale together
-
Big games today.
Heading up to brother’s later to watch five or six hours of games. Having me bring Trader Joe’s pizzas. Planning on watching Penn St @ Michigan for the early game and Alabama @ Tennessee in the afternoon. Will see if I stay late enough for USC @ Utah. If I time it wrong, it’ll be a tough go getting back downtown with the Padres playoff game going. Last night the whole neighborhood was nuts.
-
Update: run went a little farther than planned. Ultimately decided to pull up rather than push for much more distance. Last time I went big, sidelines myself for two months.
weather today started incredibly crisp. Sun is getting a little higher and it’s a little warmer. Running with the sweatshirt was probably still a good idea, but it’s not particularly comfortable now

Just got another set of ears. TWO outside now. :)

Play to the whistle dummy

Congrats? I'm gonna say congrats because I can't recall who is getting hitched (daughter?).

Penn St is one quick strike getting back in it

And yet it feels like they are 1,000 yards from that.
-
Gophers look like trash on offense early on. First two series were interception and 3 and out.
-
And yet it feels like they are 1,000 yards from that.
Probably generous considering Michigan's D and our play calling.
-
Now that's more like it! Great to see Mo pounding the rock and Tanner taking advantage of the Red Sea parting.
-
Seems like a 33-3 type of loss.
-
Penn State might be getting exposed a little bit here. Still not as bad as the rest of the Big Ten though.

Not looking too great thus far.

Clifford just 999 of them back
-
Fooled everyone there

He faked out the announcers and the cameraman.

Shut up you pessimist.

Can't be listening to negative folks like that.
-
Illinois answers with an 18 play drive that overcame 2 holding fouls and a converted 4th down, but only yielded a FG
13 6 Fighting Berts at the half. Gophers will get the kick to start the 3rd.
-
I do not believe that play
-
Not looking too great thus far.
All of a sudden, it doesn't look quite as bleak for them.
-
Somewhere Mdot will need some dry wall work done or a new TV
-
Offensive play calling for Michigan has been trash again in key moments. How do you dominate a half like that and give up the lead.
-
Great return and a TD the next play for Big Mo.

I’m at the game. It’s bad. Idk what I’m watching. Michigan has been physically man handling penn state up front- its impressive- yet they are barely up 16-14 bc of play it safe offensive play calling, one of the flukiest plays I’ve ever seen happen to Michigan and the 73 year old Sean Clifford busting it up the middle for 60 yards. This is wild.
-
Man I'll take that score line at half, hopefully there are some adjustments or some Michael's Secret Stuff for the lines
-
Gopher pass rush is non existent.
-
Illini up 20-14
-
Bert-Minnesota is being interesting. I think I want Bert to win, but am not happy about any of it, other than being a modestly entertaining game.
-
Those are some rather minimalistic gopher helmets.

that is what’s a little surprising to me watching it in person. Michigans OL and DLs are freaking impressive. They are man handling penn state- yet this is a ball game. Better red zone offense and a better coach and this game is probably 27-14 at half or something like that.
-
17-16 the Lions
-
Gus is doxxing Clifford
-
What a trample and trot by Donavon Edwards! Without seeing the jersey number you would’ve thought that was Corum on the open field dash. Very speedy backfield for Michigan.
Great game in Ann Arbor - Wolverines up 24-17.
-
I can't believe that it's ILLINOIS that's going to win the West. Thoroughly disappointed in this Gopher club. This thing is over.
-
Turn out the lights the party's over
-
Welp. Go Phils!
-
Tanner just got concussed.
Now it's 3rd and 35. F F F

This season is going down the drain in a hurry, getting whooped six ways from Sunday by the f-ing Fighting Berts. And after today's stinker performance, next up is to be the pig roast in Happy Valley for White Out.
Oh well. At least I don't have to see another game in person until November 5 in Lincoln.
-
Bert knows how to build a program. Didn't work out at Arky, but the guy hires good assistants, and he can recruit.
If he can build a wall around Illinois and supplement with Florida/Texas/Cali, it's Wisconsin 2.0.
-
Espn pulled camera men from spots at ole miss w lightning possible. Some odd camera angles now.
-
What happened to Clifford? I missed this.
-
Amazing how fast this game went from Michigan trailing in the second half at home to an absolute wipeout.
-
Saw MDot in the stands. Dressed as a Michigan Stormtrooper.
-

I mean, it was kinda one-sided, even when PSU was up. They got some breaks, the better team locked in.
-
Rocky Top. This has been a td for 100 years. Why the review? 21-7 vols
-
Can winless Colorado hang onto the late lead?
-
Ot in Boulder
-
...and of course Maryland is losing to Indiana.
-
Mel Tucker is fired up.
-
Not new news- but damn Bryce Young is a good player.

I mean they barely trailed all game- except for two points in the game when they were down 14-13 and then 17-16. They took the lead right back both times and honestly they were physically man handling Penn State at both lines of scrimmage from the jump. Penn State got a flukish TD on defense- all credit to them for making that play- and then Clifford had a keeper where he fooled the defense, stadium, and tv crew and busted it up the middle for a huge gain. Other than those two plays- penn state really did a whole lot of nothing that entire game and they were honestly physically man handled at the point of attack.
Seeing Michigan in person- that’s a very impressive team- they have some true monsters at OL and DL. From what I saw, penn state looked small up front compared to these guys.
Michigan is really good. Really talented. They do have the talent to beat Ohio State. They won’t. Because: their coach.
Seeing that offensive play calling and passing game live in person, yeah it’s just brutal.
OL is EXCELLENT, Blake Corum is imo hands down the best back in the league and seeing him in person- my god he is just something else. Donovan Edwards isn’t far behind him. JJ is FAST for a QB and his arm is honestly insane. He’s got a cannon. Coaching is failing this crew. They should be A LOT better on offense than they are. You give Lincoln Riley or Ryan Day this OL, QB, and RBs and they’d do amazing things.
-
They scored 41 pts vs the no 10 team in the country,WTF.Bust his chops when he warrants it.
And Corum isn't the best back on Michigan
-
TD Spartans nice throw/catch
Now a 44yd return to mid field by the Bastages.Down to the 40 now
-
Not new news- but damn Bryce Young is a good player.
Bryce Young and Jahmyr Gibbs are singlehandedly (doublehandedly?) keeping Alabama ahead in this game. Bama’s OL is getting pushed back and flagged throughout game for holding and false starts. And the defense has given up a ton, especially in the secondary which hasn’t had answers against Tennessee’s stacked sets.

For sure

Gotta game in East Lansing,MSU at the 45 with 1:30 left gamed tied at 21
-
Sparty/Bucky exchanging TDs in 1st O.T.
-
The friend who is in Neyland texted 20 minutes ago that it's even crazier in person than is showing on TV.
-
I swear officiating keeps getting worse every year.
The game definitely needs officials in a sky booth with video replays and the ability to over ride a play
-
There are some actual humans who vote in polls that would have ND in the top 10 if they managed to squeak by Marshall and Furd

I don't disagree with either of you but we've all seen games where one team dominates everything but the scoreboard for a half and ends up losing.
When Penn State was up 17-16 in the third quarter this looked like it could be one of those games.

Correct why have instant replay if not implemented properly.A while back i agreed with the have one flag a qtr.Any play can be questioned wether a flag was thrown or not.Go to quick commercial while booth reviews - it's simply amazing how many ignorant jack asses hold sway in high places

1st half of the Ohio St - Michigan Game of '96 - all Buckeyes but only up by 6.Come out in the 2nd half Shawn Springs slips and Tai Streets goes yard and they never looked back
-
I did not realize the quality of MSU's top two WRs (well, one is proven, the other highly talented). They wore out the backsides of Wisconsin's CBs.

yeah wr is the one position group they’re actually super talented at.

That is one of the examples I was thinking of when I typed that.
I was a Senior sitting in Block O during that game so yes, I remember.
-
I'm ready to put a sensor of some sort in the ball. Then we can retire the chains and always know when there is a TD even if we don't have a good view of it. You can sync up the time w/ the location of the ball based on the sensor. Would make things a lot easier.
-
Lots of helmets went down yesterday, I see.
And a few didn't, thank goodness.
