Get ready to make it two in a row. That is all.

Nah, I actually like Texas in this game. Just trying to get a reaction.  I would have liked our chances slightly better had y’all beat Tech.  I think you guys will now have more a sense of urgency and look to bounce back.

This team sucks,  and it's not a lack of talent.

Not sure I'm seeing a third win on this schedule.

It's not my job to pump sunshine and blow smoke, I'll leave that to this coaching staff that is just constantly overwhelmed by the adversaries they face.

WVU Win
OU Loss
ISU Loss
OkSU Loss
KSU Win
TCU Win
Kansas Win
Baylor Loss

No Sugar Bowl against UGA.

Most state universities are abbreviated with two letters, UT, UF, UC, but it's UGA.

Are you listing yesterday's results?
WVU won yesterday but has a loss.
Oklahoma State did not play yesterday, but the Pokes are 3-0.
ISU lost yesterday.
Baylor won yesterday but has a loss.
Why "no Sugar Bowl against UGA"? Some Big 12 is going to play against some SEC team in the Sugar Bowl, and Georgia might be there if it slips up and doesn't make the CFP.
I think Virginia uses UVA. Nebraska uses UN-L or UNL, although it was NU when in the Big 8 and Big 12. Deconflicting with Northwestern probably accounts for the change.

Ok, this is no consolation, but it makes me smile so much that I have to share.

So you know how Mrs. DeTiger is a Longhorn fan, so I'm usually watching the games with her.  It's kind of hilarious when UT loses because she morphs into this other character.  She's a pretty small lady, and extremely soft-spoken with a long-suffering attitude.  One of the most empathetic and gentle people you could come across.  She doesn't speak ill of anyone, almost ever, and she's quick to admonish me or the boys if we start talking about somebody.  However, when UT is about to lose a game, stuff like this starts flying:

"I can't stand Texas-Tech."  (this is borderline cursing for her)

"I hate their stupid face.  I can't stand their fans.  They're gonna be so smug about this.  I can't deal with them."

Me:  "....do you know any Tech fans you're going to see after this?"

Her:  "No.  It's just seeing their smug, stupid faces on TV I can't stand.  They're so stupid.  I hate them."

I feel bad for her, because she takes losses pretty hard.  But watching her get what passes for a bad attitude for her is actually kind of adorable.

I don't tell her that, though.

UT did what they were supposed to do for a significant portion of the game.  They probably aren't as good as they showed against Alabama, and probably aren't as bad as when the 14 pt. lead over Tech slipped away.  The truth is likely somewhere in between, and I don't see them losing every upcoming game.

A propos of nothing; I'd give my left pinky finger to have Bijan Robinson on my team.

In 1968 we lost to Tech and switched QBs to an unknown James Street and went on a 30 game win streak

Not saying we will win the next 30 games in a row but that this is a winning football team and we will be back

Last years team would never have come back to tie the game and take it to OT

This season is far from over

New practice drill:

Line 4 WR up, two to each side. Before the play, tell one of them he's the "target". Don't tell the defense.
At the snap, the "target" is the only one running deep. Tell the QB to just loft a moon ball high and 40 yards deep.

This isn't a drill for the offense. It doesn't matter which WR you use. It's a drill to allow the defensive secondary to learn what to do in this situation. Time after time, over the last two games, this situation occurs. Three Texas defenders converge on a ball that looks like it was lazily dropped out of a blimp. This has the following outcomes: (1) a DB full on tackles the WR two seconds before the ball gets there. Obvious PI. First down. (2) The ball inexplicably avoids three pairs of (that's six individual) Texas defending hands, and lands comfortably in the mitts of the only opponent player down field.

I'm thinking it's a repetition thing. Practice is usually fast and furious. No one gains skills on what to do when you're all just standing and waiting for a pass to come down. Texas can't get it right!

Well that's like your opinion man.

Hey its not his job to blow sunshine whats the matter with you

Now you get it.

The defense is woeful and keeps making the same mistakes it has since the first game of last season, regardless of personnel.  Not really anything more I can say about that.

I feel bad for him.  On another team he'd be a legitimate Heisman candidate.  At Texas, he's just going to waste, same as so many other talented players over the past decade+.

Sam Ehlinger, D'Onta Foreman, either of them could have been Heisman winners and national championship winners at Ohio State or even OU.

If my kid were an FBS prospect, I'd tell him to go almost anywhere but Texas.  What a sad, shameful waste.

OTOH, Bijan very likely will sign a multimil contract in the not too distant future.  Heisman schmeisman.

Yeah it definitely helped.

My next door neighbor is a trueborn Jersey Italian who loves the Giants, and whose kids are now in college at Texas Tech and Arkansas.  So with the Horn loss to Tech and the Ag win over the pigs, our households were split for the weekend.  The Cowboys win gave us the 2-1 edge. In your FACE, Alex!

Rush is actually looking pretty decent imo.  I'm not saying Dak should be worried, but at this point with his injury history it's got to be something a franchise has to be thinking about.

Lawrence and Parsons were playing like the Giants insulted their mama.  It was kind of amusing.

Still not used to Aikman and Buck on MNF.  Or SNF missing Al Michaels.

I'd start Rush over Dak

Zeke looks fresh and a bit quicker

gotta get the new O-lineman #73?? to knockoff the penalties

I was thinking Zeke looks like he's lost a step.  Yesterday especially I thought Pollard looked better.

I can't believe my life is reduced to talking about the NFL.

Pollard has looked better most of the games they've both been on the field over the past 1.25 years.

yup, that's my thought, but at least on a few runs last night Zeke actually looked quicker.

Oh, did UT win something this weekend?  Sorry, I couldn't pay attention to anything after I started laughing so hard at Aggie that I had to be medicated at bedtime to stop.

eh...

I got here as quick as I could.  I can only access this site from work, where I don't have much time to chat anyway.  I figured 320 would chastise you plenty in the meantime for being such a downer and my sentiments weren't required.

Nah, long since stopped caring enough about this stuff to get really mad about it.  And losses to OU are 100% expected, especially really stupid inexplicable ones or really gut-wrenching ones.

Don't mistake my disappointments, for anger.  Life's way too short to get angry about college football.

Not sure I'm seeing a third win on this schedule.

You really should've started dumping on them much earlier.  They'd be undefeated.

The ECFG's are a testy lot, but they can be manipulated.

Just say "I Told You So" it's so much simpler. :)

It is nice to see an offense that's capable of overcoming the defensive deficiencies, and hopefully the defense is improving as well.

I mean, when he declared he didn't see another win on the Texas schedule and I answered that was overly pessimistic and unrealistic, and UT has gone on to win two games since then in convincing fashion.....not really.
