The line is Iowa -3.5 with an O/U of 40. That suggests a final score of 22-18 in favor of the Hawkeyes.
That would require Iowa to kick six FG's and get two safeties. I don't doubt the two safeties but I think that six FG's are way beyond the capability of the Iowa offense.
Maybe the wise guys are thinking eight safeties and two FG's?
-
O/U is a safety net for the wise guys.
Iowa 4
ISU 0
-
yup, I don't think the Cyclones score 33 vs the Hawkeye defense
lead pipe lock!

Iowa 4

I'm gonna go with 5-2.

Iowa football is making some changes following its 7-3 punt-fest victory against South Dakota State Saturday.
The major moves will take place on the offensive line. Connor Colby will be shifting inside to right guard following a bad showing from the interior offensive linemen last week against the Jackrabbits.
Here’s the rest of the offensive depth chart.

I see HB Gavin Williams is back but still no WR keegan Johnson.
I still say it's time to switch to the 4 TE lineup.
-
heaviest guys on the O-line at 308 doesn't seem like the norm from past seasons?

Not sure if you are saying Iowa is getting heavier or was typically heavier in the past, but if the goal was to beef up to 300 pounds so that they could just push the defense down the field, that did not work for Iowa against SDSU.
It's pretty obvious Iowa can't move the ball with its straight ahead approach. The theory is Iowa is going to have to mix in mis-direction and trick plays. That seemed to work well against MD last year, but after MD, it didn't. Most Big Ten teams don't get fooled with that stuff.
-
I might be wrong, but I remember Iowa O-lines being well over 300lbs for guards and tackles
maybe it was just that the Husker D-line was pathetic?
-
I had to chuckle at this one.

Another opportunity for Matt Campbell to step on a rake.

3 TD's with one 2 point conversion?
-
nope, defense and special times for 3 TDs???
not likely
-
3 TD's with one 2 point conversion?
That would require Iowa to have a normal offense that scores TD's.
More likely the Iowa defense will get a pick-6, and have 5 other takeaways in cylcone territory. After which the offense won't move at all and kick 5 FG's.

Of course Ferentz has defeated Texas & OU in the same season, right?.I offered you a bet last year and with the spine of a gummy bear you declined to take it. :D
-
Eventually you'll be right Nubbz, and he'll win a singular game in the rivalry series like Harbaugh did vs OSU last year, and like John Cooper did twice.
It might even be this year that Matt Campbell can do what every other ISU HC has been able to routinely do vs Ferentz with much worse teams. Probably not, but you never know.
-
Lol at the Texas brag, btw.
Even Kansas does that.

I guess the Big Ten equivalent would be beating Ohio State and Nebraska in the same season.. beating Ohio State is still a big deal. Nebraska not so much. And yes Fererentz did beat Ohio State and Nebraska the last season Iowa played both teams.
-
Ohio St and Wisconsin or Ohio St and Michigan or Ohio St and Penn St.
Huskers aren't worthy

Of being a Texas equivalent? How much worse do y'all have to get in order to be THAT bad?
-
now you've done it
-
I read that Iowa has won 8 games in which they have punted 8 or more times in a game in some period of time, more than any program in the country.
-
I got to believe the Cyclones are at least 5 points better than South Dakota State.
Iowa State 17
Iowa 9

Just not Ferentz or you 🤣. Try backing up your play you turn into a slug in the salt lake bumping your 💋 after the fact

Just because I am clowning on Campbell, that doesn't mean that I am singing Ferentz's praises. That's Fro logic.
Ferentz sucks in the CyHawk game too. Luckily for him he doesn't suck nearly as bad in it as Campbell does though.

Catp.Kirk has had more to work with......unlike me in this thread

excuses are like assholes

I was looking at the schedule for all the Big Ten teams tomorrow Saturday and it suddenly occurred to me this could be the biggest game of the week involving Big Ten teams. These are games involving Big Ten vs P5 teams
Duke @ NW
Wash St @ Wisc
VA @ ILL
Iowa St @ Iowa
I guess this makes sense that it would be all Big Ten West teams hosting P5 schools this year, since this year they have 5 Big Ten road games. The only team ranked is #19 Wisc, so maybe that makes the Wisc game the #1 draw.
All 4 games have potential to be close and maybe even entertaining. Well except for the Punt-fest in Iowa city, but, hey scoring a safety can be exciting, right?
-
Well yeah, this is one of the staples of the Big Ten non-con schedule every year; particularly now that the ND games are no longer on the annual for Purdue, MSU or the Wolverines.
-
only because the politicians in the state of Iowa won't allow the Hawkeyes to ditch the series
-
A politician doing something useful for a change?
Nice!
-
excuses are like assholes
As I said I didn't have much to work with as you share yet another gem
-
well, your buddy OAM isn't here
maybe lurking but, I think not
-
only because the politicians in the state of Iowa won't allow the Hawkeyes to ditch the series
I know I don't speak for all Iowa fans, but personally I like the Iowa State series and believe it makes perfect sense for them to play every year. I would rather Iowa get rid of the cupcake games or at the very most, only have 1 cupcake game a year.
If the Big Ten ever expands again to 18 or more teams, this may force a move to 10 conference games. Iowa would have to either reduce its schedule to only 1 cupcake a year or cancel the Iowa-ISU series.
-
Seems like if the B1G and SEC get their way, ISU will be another cupcake.
-
Another opportunity for Matt Campbell to step on a rake.
He was the hot name to get a big job like 2 years ago......now he's an underdog to a feckless Iowa team today.
Interesting.

Would they really want to have to play rutgers, maryland?Shuffle the deck however but keep the CY-Hawk,it's not up there with Floyd of Rosedale but then again what is?

As the one guy commented - Don’t like it, don’t watch it! It’s that simple. What a rude and inaccurate headline! Nothing wrong with a traditional rivalry!.
I agree some slappy posts a headline like it's gospel when it's just his own demented take
-
outside the state, not many give a dern
but that can be said about most instate rival games
thanks Mr. Obvious Douche

Which instate rival game gets the most National buzz?

Herm's back.

Former NFL head coach Jon Gruden said he is remorseful for derogatory remarks he made last season that cost him his job with the Las Vegas Raiders and hopes to return to coaching one day. Earlier this month, Gruden addressed college coaching rumors from 2012 at the Little Rock Touchdown Club that linked him to the Arkansas and he expressed interest in the idea of being the Razorbacks' coach one day if it were to come open.
“I was concerned about being a college coach because I would have ya on the death penalty probation within six months,” Gruden said. "But, now that you’re paying players — and I know a bank with $27 billion — I’d love to have the Arkansas job. I’ll tell you that."
-
That would be sweet.
Get Chucky back on the sidelines.
-
He's been riding Tony Dungy's coattails for quite some time, most bloviated about carnival barker out there. When Holgrem hired him for his 1st NFL gig,he said "Chuckie" didn't make all those weird faces that he later played up for the camera. All hat and no cattle as they say in Texas
-
I'd give him a shot in Lincoln - about the same chance of success as Matt Campbell

Chucky got a little Bert in him?
What's next?
Illinois?
If he really wants to coach college ball, I'm thinking a place like FSU. Maybe UNL.
-
Chucky can bump Bert out of Illinois
Bert can land in Lincoln
Bert understands O-line
-

He can land in Lincoln,he's just not the hot comodity the press keeps purring about.Think he's going to fall in line for kissing 17 yr old fannies in to a scollie, constantly sendinging texts? That's the new normal he'd be like WTF but anything's possible
-

I knew that you would eventually come around to my way of thinking (regarding Bert at Nebraska of course, not Gruden at Illinois).
-
I think 2B's would be really good in Lincoln. More resources than he has in Illinois, and he can recruit.
-
Oh Brutus where art thou sauntering, you sqwuaking twat :-X :D

Nubbz is all like

Is that Kathy Griffin?
-
it's not Spencer Petras
-
Brian Ferentz is the most incompetent Quarterback Coach in NCAA history. Brian wasn't a QB. If Spencer Petras is the best QB on the squad I would be surprised. Before he was promoted to OC, I thought Brian needed to get coaching experience either in D-III where they develop players, or high school. Brian Ferentz has embraced my opinion through his results.
-
And dad will never see it either. How could the highest paid employee in the state be this wrong.I mean in two games they've wrecked opponents for a whopping 2 TDs.Hope they do the right thing
-
Chucky can bump Bert out of Illinois

If Bert lands in Lincoln,Ohio State will be going for two late up by 40 - bank on that. Then an on side kick after.I hope they do it if the tub should last long enough with the Illini
-
love to have a coach that riles the opponent enough to go for two up big late in the game
Pelini is laughing
-

Just one TD
-

Make that 1 TD, 1 FG and 2 safeties.
-
Iowa, which had two safeties and a field goal in last Saturday's 7-3 win over South Dakota State, got its first touchdown of the season on its opening possession of the game. Leshon Williams had a 9-yard scoring run two plays after defensive end Lukas Van Ness blocked a punt and the Hawkeyes recovered the ball at the Iowa State 16-yard line.
Iowa State survived three turnovers and two blocked punts to gain their first road win in the in-state rivalry since 2014, forcing three Iowa turnovers and holding the Hawkeyes to 150 yards of offense.
-
it's not Spencer Petras
He's not helping. He is missing a lot of throws you would expect a high schooler to make.
It's time to end this disaster and promote 3rd stringer Joey Labas to start against Nevada. Iowa coaches have decided backup Alex Padilla is not the answer. Fine. Labas is young and will make mistakes and hopefully grow. But Labas is the future and Iowa has no chance to win any games with Petras as QB.
-
Just one TD
I know but it needed gussying up,didn't want the faithful being totally hopeless.Brian wil get it all turned around 👀
-
poor guy was better in high school, the Iowa staff has ruined him
I thought GD Greg Davis was a terrible O-coordinator and I wasn't wrong
Brian Ferentz is possibly the worst I've seen at the P5 level
-
Maybe he'll take the Lincoln gig

GDGD.

You just jinxed it.
And the next HC at Nebraska will be...
Brian Ferentz!
-
UNL doesn't settle like Iowa
-
Just one TD
I noticed that mistake too. Most people see a seven points in a box score and assume a TD but of course in Iowa's case it is two safeties and a FG.
-

Pelini is laughing
Ya they're called ass-holes
-
yup
but an asshole that wins is better than a nice guy that loses
just my opinion

yes, they actually said that.
Cameo is an app where you can hire B, C, and D list celebrities and public figures to send recorded video messages and birthday wishes to family and friends- for money obviously- and the people set their own rates- and you can basically get these people to say whatever you want them to say.
Stoops and McCaffrey really said it- and really had zero clue it was just Iowa fans paying them to troll the head football coaches son.
-
Hue Jackson thanking the fans for the 0-16 parade was one of the Cameo classics.
My buddy had Dean Blandino do one for me that after further review, I lost a bet and it's time to pay up, which I thought was pretty funny.

If I was one of these celebrities, I would starting using last names in these messages. No last names, no message
