2013 Alabama (11-2)

- Lost on final play of the season to #4 Auburn on the Kick Six, to lose a shot at the SEC and national titles

Going with Alabama here.
Looking more at resumes:
2010 Stanford:
Only played two teams that finished ranked:
- Blown out 52-31 by final #3 Oregon.
- Blew out final #16 VaTech 40-12.
No other opponents finished above 8-5.
2013 Alabama:
Lost to final #2 Auburn on a crazy play, lost to final #6 OU in a bowl.
- Beat final #14 LSU by three scores.
- Beat final #18 aTm by a TD
IMHO 2-2 against four ranked teams > 1-1 against two at least where the rankings are reasonably comparable.

Bama
-
I know they had Luck, but Stanford could bully its PAC foes when it needed to. They couldn't do that vs Bama.
-
Pulled up the old S&P+. Looks like Bama would've been about a 6-point favorite on a neutral.
Stanford's offense was the best unit of the four. But the defense was just good (17th). That was one of the best pre-spread Bama offenses, with a defense that was a tad more vulnerable to efficient opposing passing games than usual.

and on a 6-point fav we get 11 votes????
no tiebreaker needed

I think helmet wins this battle, probably on the field too.
