Is this where the refs deprive the Terps, or is that in every game they play?

Maryland is coming off a Friday night home beat-down, at the hands of Iowa. Ohio State is slowly improving on defense and offense, hoping significant improvement, happens in time, for the Penn State game on 10/30. I think Maryland is in trouble, as the Buckeyes need to be gelling by now, or else (for Ohio State). This should be a good QB exercise for Stroud, gaining yardage at will. I am more interested that the D has made enough progress, to mostly shut down the Maryland offense (they didn’t stop Oregon once, and REAL improvement needs to be shown here). It is starting to get late.

Ohio State by A LOT. It will not be pretty. Maryland stinks and OSU's offense is scary.

I think OSU wins big, but I am nervous that they may be a bit overconfident.  Things were a little too easy against Rutgers, and everything isn't fixed just yet.

The refs will guarantee it.

Yes it’s not even a matter of being “fixed“.

they have the second youngest team in division one football and their youngest team in 20 years on the field.

There is obvious improvement from some of the young players, especially on defense. Plus with the issues of their youth which they showed against Oregon, and the loss of Josh Proctor who was uniquely qualified to play the single high safety position and be the eraser,  they have really changed their defense around fairly quickly.  A lot more to 2 high looks, unique blitzes and disguising their coverages even when they are in a single high.

I don’t think Marilyn will be so easy simply because they’ve not really had experience against a quality passing team. I envision them struggling early in the game, but once they’ve got some patterns developed around what they’re looking at they will adjust and tighten up quite a bit as the game goes on.

Maryland has some punch on offense. Taulia is capable of very bad football, but also capable of very good football. Not sure where Maryland's offense is with Demus out - they still have some guys. OSU's defense has been better, but Rutgers and Akron aren't great offensively and Rutgers was in a big hole within a couple minutes.

My guess, something like 47-17, never really close after the first 10 min.

That's what makes me a little nervous about Maryland.  We aren't talking about a best of 7 series.  In a one game situation, so the team with the highest ceiling always scares me the most.  You look at comparable ranked teams (Wisconsin, Purdue, Rutgers, Minnesota), I think Maryland's A+ game is probably the best of that group.  But as you said, they might be the lease capable of regularly hitting it.  But they just need to hit it once.

Maryland Terrapins (1-1, 4-1) at #7 Ohio State Buckeyes (2-0, 4-1)
NOON - Columbus, OH - FOX
Well, Ohio State made me look pretty stupid last week, by thinking that Rutgers would give them a game.  I commented on this in the Game Week thread, but among the Big Ten fatty middle belt of #6-#12, Maryland might be the one that scares me the most.  We saw how bad they can be, and their mode, is well below Wisconsin, but I do think Tagovailoa gives the Terps the highest ceiling of that group.  So while Wisconsin may lose 10 of 10 to Ohio State, but in unembarassing fashion; Maryland is the one school from that group that might win 1 of 10, even if the other 9 are blowouts.  The loss of leading receiver Dontay Demus Jr. is an absolute hit.  Maryland has enough weapons to I believe weather this hit over the long term, but against a Buckeye attack that once again seems to be hitting on all cylinders, is not the week to try and figure it out.  They do need to make a more conscious effort to get Tayon Fleet-Davis involved.  Granted, when you find yourself down four scores in the first half, it's hard to try and establish the running game, but to get your running back, who is third in the Big Ten in ypc, just 3 carries, is not a winning formula.  Plus, while Tagovailoa has done a great job spreading the ball around to three different receivers, he also has a very talented pair of tight ends in Chigoziem Okonkwo and Corey Dyches, who have been underutilized thus far.  The problem is that a very young Ohio State offensive backfield seems to finally be sorting itself out.  C.J. Stroud returned after his precautionary shoulder rest, and just went out and completed 75% of his passes en route to winning Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors.  And he may not have even been the best freshman in the Buckeye backfield.  TreVeyon Henderson continues to stake his claim to being the lead ball carrier for Ohio State.  He was held out of the second half though, again, as a precaution.  Another benefit that is usually understated for Ohio State.  When you are good enough to just rest starting quarterbacks for whole games, or starting running backs for whole halves against conference opponents.
OHIO STATE 37, MARYLAND 24

Stroud had all day in the pocket and when occasionally flushed out he seemed to be just as accurate.  Life has been too easy for him since Oregon and he could use a real challenge.  Maybe the Nitts can give it to him Halloween Eve?  Let's hope Clifford gets healthy by then.
