Title: OT - Travel Tips
Post by: Cincydawg on October 04, 2021, 03:34:40 PM
I saw one on another thread about Allegiant and credit card bennies.  Many of us might be about to take up traveling again and have some tips, even things like what to pack, how to manage rental cars, finding cheap deals, etc.

There are no deals on car rentals right now. My company gets gouged every time I go up there. We're going to buy a cheap car for me to use when I'm up there. Much cheaper.

Rentals are ripoffs right now, yes.  Additionally,  the fleets are garbage.   Such panic by these companies caused them to liquidate fleet last spring/summer and have not been able to snap back.

I'll be shocked if I get what I reserved this Thursday and I have very good status w Avis.

I had Avis call me this past May asking if I still needed my reservation.

The companies are buying new cars, but they are all stripped down. I've used Hertz mostly, and Enterprise. There are no chips for the options.

Not an Avis fan at all.

Yeah, I have rentals for Colorado and Hawaii later and they were very expensive (Enterprise).  They are always el strippos.  I got Malibus both times.

Hawaii is nearly $300 per day.
