I didn't even know Garry Shandling had a show prior to the Larry Sanders Show until compiling this list

Yeah, if I never knew the show existed, it's tough to vote for its theme song.

Plus Waylon Jennings is awesome and I've met him in person.

Them good ole boys get my vote.

Duke's for the win.   Love anything Gary Shandling did though.

Splitting hairs but the Simpsons came out in 89 so technically they’re an 80’s show,
No?

I did it more by the decade they are identified with

Yeah, it was on the Tracy Ullman Show in the very late 80s, and had a debut special for Christmas 1989, but the first regular non-special episode aired in 1990.  I definitely consider it a 90s show.

It's been on now in five different decades, and been bad in four of them

Eh, people like to bash the Simpsons, and it's certainly not what it was in seasons 1-6 or so.

But it's still better than 99.9% of anything that's on network TV.

I still have a DVR set for it, and generally watch most episodes. 99.9% is high, even with the network TV caveat. I'd say it's in the top 20% of networks sitcoms.  I'm not going to bash it, so much as to say it's just become this perpetual thing, that at this point feels like it's continuing for the sake of continuing

Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't think of a single network TV sitcom I'd put above it, after Community went off the air.   And even that show only had 4 good seasons.

I'd put Brooklyn 99 for sure.  Family Guy takes the low-hanging fruit, but I think it more consistently makes me laugh, because it has completely abandoned any semblance of plot or characters. The trouble now is, if a show doesn't get legs almost immediately it gets canceled. I liked the show single parents, and I believe it just got canceled after two seasons.  Maybe you are right though, I'm struggling to even think of network sitcoms anymore

Taste is always subjective or course.  But Brooklyn 99 was downright awful in its first half-season, my wife made me watch it, but I haven't bothered watching it since.  Maybe it got better.

And Family Guy?

I'm pretty comfortable with my 99.9% assertion.

Well first of all, sitcoms are largely garbage.  The canned laugh track, the moral lessons, etc. is brutal, once you reach a certain age/level of maturity.  They're harmless, mostly, sure, but for the talent, it's a paycheck.
.
Secondly, they all have some sort of bell curve where they peaked.  If you look at the first season of the Simpsons, it's worse animation and worse voices than you'd think.  And it was less sharp-tongued and just crude and crass.  After a few seasons, it became what we think of it as being, and that lasted for a time - maybe 6-7 years.
One rare thing the show did was cycle through writers and stayed strong for a time.  It didn't fall off a cliff after the first group cycled out.  I think that's when most shows fall off.
