Title: Say It Ain't So Joe: Tony Elliot a Prime Candidate as UT's Head Coach
Post by: gymvol on January 25, 2021, 10:47:45 AM
That's what's in the rumor mill that Tony Elliot from Clemson is high on Danny White's list as our new head coach.

I have nothing against Mr. Elliot he is probably an excellent coach in the ACC but this ain't the ACC. It's time we moved past unproven and untested coaches to run the football program.

With supposedly up to EIGHT MILLION annual salary is the best we can do another hiring another unproven assistant?

This is the toughest football conference in the country not a place to learn on the job so I think we can do better with that kind of money on the table.

I truly hope this is only a rumor and nothing else.

AD Danny White is keeping things close to the vest to keep leaks to the media from springing. I've heard he may even be leaking names to throw people off which direction he is going in his search. I imagine the name of the new coach will come directly from him and not from the media.

I tend to agree with you. Add in some coaches may be spreading stories trying to get a raise.
