when Michigan loses to Rutgers....omg the blood will really be in the water.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3H_-bkZ4qhk&ab_channel=RutgersAthletics
No. 9 Indiana at No. 3 Ohio State. The Hoosiers' dream season has a chance to reach new heights. That's BIG NUDE SATURDAY
A Noon game??? WTF?
No. 10 Wisconsin at No. 19 Northwestern. Major Big Ten West ramifications.
Big Ten West gets sexy 2:30 kick on ABC?
I think UNL will win Saturday (still waiting to see the offense become what was expected when Frost became HC), but I'm not sure UNL can beat anyone by 14. Ill would need to turn the ball over and give UNL short fields for that to happen. Plus, if Ill goes with their running QB, the game will be shortened. From McKewon........
Indiana at OSU: Battle for the EastIt is looking like the division races are likely to be decided this weekend barring more cancellations.
Wisconsin at Northwestern, 3:30, ABC: Battle for the West
Indiana hasn't beaten OSU since 1988.And they hadn't beaten Michigan since 1987.
And they hadn't beaten Michigan since 1987.
It is actually much worse than that though. From 1968-2019 they were:
- 1-39 against Michigan (the win was in 1987)
- 2-42-1 against Ohio State (the wins 1987 and 1988 and the tie was 1990)
IU is 12-76-5 all-time against Ohio State (0.156) but it is actually worse than that. One third (four) of their wins came before Ohio State joined the league (1901, 1903, 1904, 1905) and fully half of their wins came prior to 1925.
The Hoosiers won the 1924 game against Ohio State 12-7 in Columbus. At that point they were 6-4-1 against the Buckeyes (0.591). Since then they are 6-72-4 (0.098). Oddly, the Hoosiers have fared marginally better against the Buckeyes in Columbus than at home. Five of their six wins and three of the four ties since 1925 occurred in Columbus where they are 5-46-3 over that stretch (0.120) while they are just 1-26-1 at home (0.054).
That's incredible. There was one "class" that went 2-1-1 vs OSU over their 4 years (87-90), and other than that they have lost every single game since 1968. That must have been some class. Who was in it?Those IU teams were pretty good and VERY good by Indiana's standards. They went:
That 1924 game was the first in "the Shoe" between those two teams, so indiana's record there would be 6-47-3, adding in that 1924 win along with the vactated 2010 loss; assuming that your record "since 1925" is correct (which I have no doubt that it is).
Gophers with back to back Friday nights?Gophers are down 20 players for tonight's game! a combo of COVID and injuries and Opt outs
no wonder the boat is listing to port
Fresh off its first win of the season, Nebraska will open preparation for its next game — an 11 a.m. matchup against Illinois in Lincoln — as a big favorite. After reading the line, the Illinois game had to hurt.
Oddsmakers released an opening line on Sunday morning, listing the Huskers as 14-point favorites over the Fighting Illini.
Both teams picked up their first wins of the season this past weekend. Nebraska went up early and then held on late to knock off Penn State 30-23, while Illinois kicked a last-second field goal to knock off Rutgers on the road for its first Big Ten win.
