With Week 2 in the books our standings are:
West:
Northwestern (2-0)
Purdue (2-0)
Wisconsin (1-0)
Nebraska (0-1)
Illinois (0-2)
Iowa (0-2)
Minnesota (0-2)
East:
Indiana (2-0)
OSU (2-0)
Rutgers (1-1)
MSU (1-1)
Maryland (1-1)
Michigan (1-1)
PSU (0-2)
Games
Noon
Michigan at Indiana, FS1 - Big ole honking game here. The Hoosiers are in first place and tend to give Michigan a game. Michigan is in soul searching mode after a tough loss to MSU. Tough to predict here - Michigan has the talent, but Indiana has a real QB and some receivers. Will they try to throw down the field? Can they pass block? Could be a good game.
Nebraska at Northwestern, BTN - Nebraska is frustrated after having to skip a week, and Northwestern is in great shape after a win over Iowa. This could also be a pretty good game.
MSU at Iowa, ESPN - Iowa is in real need of a win, and their defense is well equipped for the Spartan attack. But can they score?
3:30
Maryland at PSU, BTN - Penn State is in the basement and needs a win. Maryland was woeful against Northwestern and couldn't be stopped against Minny. We'll see which team shows up.
Minnesota at Illinois, BTN - Who sucks more?
7:30, Rutgers at OSU, BTN - Schiano on the hunt for revenge. OSU trying to avoid COVID.
-
We also get two great OOC tilts in Florida v. Georgia and ND v. Clemson, plus the PAC 12 and the MAC return
-
Some late night kicks! Though I believe the Pac will try the 9am local kick in a handful of slots this year.

Purdue @ Wisconsin officially cancelled.

Lol I didn't even realize I left that game off the schedule. Purdue suddenly in great shape to win the West
-
Well shitballs.
-
Purdue vs Northwestern for the West!
Purdue coming off a 4-8 season, Northwestern coming off a 3-9 season. Lol.
-
Can't a future Wisconsin opponent effectively kill off the Badgers season by canceling. 'Well I think we've got a few cases here....'
-
They certainly could. But, I doubt it.
UW should just pull the plug now.
2020 this season.
-
We get plenty of MACtion today

If Northwestern beats Nebraska and Purdue the next two weeks, their surest path to a B1G-W Championship would be to cancel the Wisconsin game. In that case:
- Wisconsin would be ineligible.
- Northwestern would have tie-breaking wins over Iowa, Nebraska, and Purdue.
- The Minnesota/Illinois loser would be effectively eliminated at 0-3.
- Northwestern would have at least a two game lead on the Minnesota/Illinois winner.
Who would catch them?
-
Fitz would never do it
-
There is some chatter that UW is considering pulling the plug. Not sure how credible it is.
1-0!!
-
If so, then one B1G East team won't get a non-ccg crossover game at season's end. But which one?
-
whomever finishes in last place
-
Who is the front (back?) runner for that?
-
Well, Penn State right now since they are the only winless team in the East. Realistically probably Rutgers or Maryland.
-
It might be the Wolverines.
-
This weeks' games as the relate to our current Power Rankings (https://www.cfb51.com/big-ten/b1g-power-rankings-week-2-18241/):
- #1 tOSU vs #10 RU
- #3 IU vs #7 M
- #4 PSU vs #12 UMD
- #5 NU vs #11 UNL
- #8 MSU at #9 Iowa
- #13 MN at #14 Illinois
Ohio State looks to stay in the driver's seat in the B1G-E and if Michigan beats Indiana then the Buckeyes could find themselves alone in first place with a win at home over Rutgers.
IMHO, IU is overrated. They have a fluky win over PSU and a good but not seriously impressive win over Rutgers. I think the Wolverines are going to smack them around this weekend.
This is a "get right" game for PSU. They still might be the second best team in the whole league but their start to the season has been dismal. They need this.
Even though Northwestern is 2-0 and Nebraska is winless, this game is important. The Cornhuskers haven't lost a divisional game yet so if they win this they are in the race.
I think Iowa is going to take some frustration out on Michigan State.
Minnesota and Illinois have the battle for the basement. The loser will be 0-3.

1-0!!
Go out on high note like Costanzo.
154 MLB players had one career ABs going 1-1.
-
Pac already suffered their first casualty as Washington/Cal has been cancelled due to one Cal positive test and a bunch others held out due to contact tracing.
If any of those held out test negative in the coming days they should be good to go next week, if not that'll unfortunately cancel Cal@ASU.

Former HC Chris Pedersen pleased. Game was scheduled for 10:30 est.
-
Some Friday night football - da U takes on NC State and in the late game top ten BYU takes on Boise State.
-
Minnesota's DC is out with Covid. No word on whether or not any players are out.

Hasn’t he been out all year ? Like their defense? Taking the year off
-
ACC game is entertaining
-
CANES got hosed by call for replay. Then they kick a fg? Ok...
-
I'm ok with it
routing for the wolfpack

This does not appear to be aging well, not one of my better predictions.
Not sure what is up with Michigan's D. The Hoosiers had ~300 yards on the Wolverines IN THE FIRST HALF. Against the Nittany Lions they only had ~200 yards in the whole game including OT.
-
So is eight points going to be considered the only "close" game today?
-
yup, Frost's Huskers were VERY disappointing, but they didn't absolutely suck like some teams
at least it was a game and mildly entertaining

6 red zone trips, with only 13 points. I really thought the Huskers was the better team, they couldn't finish those scoring chances.
-
Wildcat defense is uncanny
last week a couple timely INTs to shut the Hawkeyes out in the 2nd half and get the win
this week a couple 2nd half INTs to thwart the Huskers
they just win, Baby

Maryland getting a little cocky with the tweets lately. Last week they trolled Minnie.
