Title: Orange Bowl: #6 Wisconsin (12-1) AT #10 Miami (10-2)
Post by: 847badgerfan on December 04, 2017, 01:33:34 PM
Hopefully this game causes fan interest on both sides - particularly the UW side. Miami ended their season
with a couple of resounding thuds. Wisconsin ended its season with a minor thud. 3 weeks ago both of these teams/fans had playoff ambitions, and now they are seeing their teams play in a bowl game instead.

I don't think Miami has the front 7 to handle UW, but then again I need to get into the analyses more than I have (very little).

I'll be doing my homework over the course of the next few days, for sure.

I'll say this, Miami has athletes all over the field on defense. They shut down the run game for Notre Dame and forced Wimbush to throw the ball and he was a disaster.

Could be a bad matchup for Hornirbook. He's got to take care of the ball because if he turns it over like he's prone to do- Miami has guys that can turn those into 6.

Miami's offense is pretty bleh though. Wisconsin's defense should hold up.

Dear Wisconsin:

Please stomp a mud-hole in Miami.

Thank you in advance.

I still chuckle about that Floridian bowl game where it was like 55 degrees, and the Miami players were bundled up in ski masks, while the Wisconsin players were in short sleeves, enjoying their break from the cold weather.

I watched that game on a cruise ship that came out of Miami. Lots of people rooting for them and of course I was the only Badger on board.

I was also the only happy guy by the end of that evening.

Yeah, Miami's offense won't do a thing.  If Hornibrook values the ball, shouldn't be too much trouble

Were the Miami fans also wearing ski masks on the Caribbean cruise?

Ha! No, but I was the only one in the bar wearing shorts and a t-shirt.

yeah Miami will have to win on defense/ST's either scoring points or giving that offense really short fields.
Malik Rosier is pretty bad. Hornibrook vs Rosier is pretty much a wash. The Miami WR corps is decimated with injury. Their starting RB Mark Walton got hurt very early on, back-ups Travis Homer & Deejay Dallas took over have been pretty good, shown some flashes and produced. The OL is OK, not great, not terrible. Got punked by Clemson's DL but most OL's would by that DL, and Wisconsin doesn't have a DL like that that's starting 3 1st round picks like Clemson's.
I think as long as Hornibrook doesn't turn it over when Wisconsin is in the red area and as long as he doesn't throw a pick 6 or fumbles and it gets returned for 6- Wisconsin will win. Basically he just has to not cost his team points or give Miami points and Wisconsin should win.

I'm thinking it will be really really cold that night in Miami, perhaps as low as 65°F, and Miami won't be able to stay warm.

I don't think Miami is that good really.  Wisconsin should win comfortably.

After hearing dozens of Bama fans knocking Wisconsin today ( as their way to support their own case) I hope Wisconsin kicks the living Shyte out of them.

Several of those idiots were saying Wisconsin had a schedule like UCF.   Thankfully Mark Packer corrected them by proving Wisconsins record and schedule was as good as Bama's.

Well that's the issue, isn't it?

I have no idea what the over, under is in this game, but I'll take the under.  I think both teams defenses are superior to the other side of the ball. Could easily be a 17-10 game.

Miami could pop a deep pass or 2 like OSU, that'd be my only worry as a UW fan. Rosier is not good, but he's got a decent arm
