I already got the OSU guys to do theirs. But it would be extremely helpful to me if you could fill this out, based on what's MOST LIKELY.
**** DO NOT OMIT PLAYERS WHO HAVE OPTED OUT
QB - if there are 2 main QBs, which one gets more attempts?
Ball-carriers -
1
2
3
4
(including the QB, if applicable)
Pass-receivers -
1
2
3
4
5
6
(including RBs and/or TEs)
Most sacks (in order of amount)
1
2
3
4
Most INTs (in order of amount)
1
2
3
4

Trask
Ball-carriers -
1 - Pierce
2 - Davis
3 - Jones (QB)
4 - Lingard
(including the QB, if applicable)
Pass-receivers -
1 - Pitts (TE)
2 - Grimes
3 - Copeland
4 - Toney
5 - Pierce (RB)
6 - Wells
(including RBs and/or TEs)
Most sacks (in order of amount - specify how many sacks the top guy will have)
1 - Cox with 6
2 - Carter
3 - Campbell
4 - Moon
Most INTs (in order of amount)
1 - Elam
2 - Davis
3 - Burney
4 - Wilson
Example, for Florida. It's guesswork, based on the depth chart and coaching tendencies.

About the time I start looking into this stuff is when the Big Ten decided to cancel. I cannot offer anything up here.

Rocky Lombardi
Any combination of three guys (Rocky Lombardi, Payton Thorne, Theo Day) wouldn't surprise me. I liked Day's HS film the most of anyone. If Dantonio was still there, I'd say it was Lombardi's job until he lost it, like Andrew Maxwell in 2013. But the pictures of fall practice that came out, showed Lombardi and Thorne getting the most reps. Since he has experience, I'll say Lombardi is the smart pick
Ball-carriers -
1 Elijah Collins
2 Anthony Williams
3 (QB Rocky Lombardi)
4 Brandon Wright
5 (WR Jalen Nailor)
(including the QB, if applicable)
If we are going with Lombardi for #1, then he probably slots in there. If it's Thorne/Day, I don't think either of them get nearly the carries, so WR Jalen Nailor probably gets the next most carries
Pass-receivers -
1 Tre Mosley
2 Jayden Reed
3 Jalen Nailor
4 Matt Dotson (TE)
5 C.J. Hayes
6 Trenton Gillison (TE)
(including RBs and/or TEs)
Tough to say how much the backs will be used in the new passing game. They were a non-factor last year. They had 5 backs with 18+ carries. Those 5 backs COMBINED for 31 receptions.
Most sacks (in order of amount)
1 LB Antjuan Simmons
2 LB Noah Harvey
3 DE Jacub Panasiuk
4 LB Chase Kline
Most INTs (in order of amount)
1 CB Julian Barnett
2 S Xavier Henderson
3 CB Kalon Gervin
4 LB Antjuan Simmons
This is really tough to do with MSU, with a new coaching staff and all.

(including the QB, if applicable)
Pass-receivers -
1 Chris Autman Bell
2 Demetrius Douglas
3 Seth Green
4 Mike Brown Stevens
5 N.A. Madumere (NAM)
6 Dan Jackson
(including RBs and/or TEs)
Most sacks (in order of amount)
1 Boye Mafe
2 Esezi Otomewo
3 Tom Rush
4 Keonte Schad
Most INTs (in order of amount)
1 Jordan Howden
2 Terrel Smith
3 Ben St Juste

Had I done this, or tried, my list would already be badly obsolete.

Dude, it's funny as hell, but it's even more messed up that Newman did that to UGA.

Right, so I would take what you've provided (THANK YOU) and check out CU last year to see if RBs or TEs get an inordinate number of receptions.
Any ballpark figure on how many sacks Simmons would get? Lower-end 6 or 7, higher end 12+...?
-
Thank you, if you had to pin a number of sacks for Mafe, what would it be?
-

Mafe is really quick and has a nose for the QB if i had to put the over under I would say 8 it really depends on how well the DB can help in giving time for the rushers. also it will be interesting to see how much blitzing they do with a younger LB core

I would say closer to 6. MSU typically generates more sacks from their DEs than LBs, but I don't love that group, so I could see them having a ton of guys between like 4-7

I forgot about Carson Beck, but he isn't likely to start (Tr FR). Mattis apparently has looked decent. Daniels had some talent at some point apparently. Stetson Bennett is the fourth year junior who is ... reliable? No clue.
Zamir White will be the starting tailback, sharing carries.

I predict the same for Florida. No one guy standing out this year, but generally good pressure.

For this exercise, it's as if Covid weren't happening, and so it includes all opt-outs.

and rethinking this number I guess if we had a full season. with Non conference games. with a lesser full season say starting in October I would say more like O/U 5

This exercise is useful if we pretend everything is normal, full schedule, full rosters, etc.

Well if we have to pretend everything is normal, then don't we just have to pretend Minnesota isn't very good?

That reminds me - I really want to study their offense from last year. They threw a lot, but ran more than they threw, and an inordinate number of receptions were by the top 2 WRs. Like an absurd percentage, compared to other teams. I just wonder how they were freed up so well.
But the pretending bit is to possibly provide 2020 teams for Whoa Nellie college football game. I'd really like to do it because I think customers would especially appreciate it.

I watch pulling guards like porn, but Minnesota's down field passing game was sexy as hell last year. Their offensive game plan against Penn State was rewatchable. I don't blame Franklin for hiring their OC away after seeing that. So few teams run good downfield passing games anymore, but if you liked Spurriers offense, you'd love Minnesota.
-
Yeah, I made that connection with Spurrier, too. His Fun 'n Gun really evolved in the 90s from a ton of dump-downs to the RB (Errict Rhett) between the LBs and a lot of TE catches towards having 2 big-time WRs and even the slot guy gaining 700-800 yds.
Spurrier's offense actually makes me frustrated at video game football. Corner routes were open for days for the Gators and the computer offense, but EVERY time I want to do it - covered like a blanket by the computer. Ugh.
-
Come on guys. Iowa folks? Nebraska guys? I don't want to do them all myself, lol.

:D When execution, fundamentals and talent come together it is a beatiful thing. One of the reasons I still watch the Pennant Chases/World Series, time and again it has demonstrated raw talent alone is squat.Plus - ya know - defense

sorry Dude,
My heart's just not in it.
Maybe I'll get REALLY bored some evening and give it a shot
