• Wisconsin-LSU played the first FBS game in Lambeau Field
• Cal-Hawaii played the first Oceania game in 30 years
• Virginia Tech-Tennessee set an attendance record, playing at Bristol Speedway
• Kalan Ballage tied the NCAA record with 8 TDs in a game
• the Oklahoma-Texas Tech game set the NCAA record for most yards in a game, and Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes broke the single player yardage record
• Pitt beat Syracuse 76-61, to set the record for most points in a non-OT game
• Art Briles fired after external investigation

2017

• Added an early signing period
• Coastal Carolina became full FBS member, and UAB's re-started football program began play
• A record 4 conference championship games featured two top ten teams
• UCF finished undefeated and claimed a national championship after beating Auburn (who had already beaten both national title game participants) in the Peach Bowl
• Bob Stoops retired

2017 was probably the best CFP we've gotten, so I'll go there.

These make me not want to choose 2016.

I'd think a lot of people would like 2016, if for no other reason than we all got a "down goes Bama" moment. 
Like Ivan Drago getting a cut over his eye.  Bama's not a machine!  


Of course they go on to with the NC the next year, so...
