Title: twitter-facebook share buttons
Post by: Drew4UTk on June 28, 2020, 09:03:20 PM

I yanked them once... i didn't like the tracking those guys do.  i found it invasive.  more than finding it just invasive i found it treacherous and because they didn't disclose the true nature of their function.

they went bye bye after about a week or so if any of you guys recall that.

if you've noticed on topic threads, now, they're back.  this time, however, i custom coded them.  nowhere else on the web uses these in this way but this site.  they work (i'll figure out other social networks methods later) and they do it with no invasive function... if you have an account with the social media and are logged in it should work just fine....

they're not yet available in mobile view, but they'll be set there soon across the bottom.

if you use them it'll help the site get exposure, but it's not that important to the site if you use them or not... just a bell or whistle more than anything.... and to see if i could pull it off- without all their tracking mess.... turns out? it's absolutely possible.

Does anyone use these?

BTW on mobile they take up quite a bit of screen real estate, especially if you're trying to type and the keyboard takes up half the screen too.

I full out hate Facebook and love-hate twitter so I’m not sure how I feel about this.

I literally never have used Facebook and think it is the dumbest shit ever and it’s the absolute worst thing to happen to human health since cigarettes. Cigarettes are disgusting and cause cancer of the lungs. Facebook is disgusting and causes cancer of the mind.

Twitter on the other hand is great for getting bits of info and for the comedy that ensues on there, but I still tend to think it’s more destructive to this society than it is good.

If you never used FB, how did you form that opinion of it?

I rather enjoy FB.
