Schiano is back and has apparently poached Oklahoma State OC Sean Gleeson. Gleeson had some great success at Princeton and this is a strong hire.

Gleeson apparently wasn't a good fit with Mike Gundy. The "word" from Stillwater is that he was told that it would be a good thing if he found a different job.
That is the "word." The "rumor" is that Todd Monken is coming back to oSu.

NJ has some players, Rutger is capable of 7-5 seasons fairly often I think. Maybe.

I know you are kidding as I would not sleep on Maryland they have some team speed and speed kills in this league

This has got to be step 1. Get Rutgers back to 6-6 or 7-5 consistently. Do that enough and maybe they can start dreaming bigger.

In Rutgers' defense, part of their problem is that this division is just very difficult. Since the advent of the CFP:
- Ohio State is 75-8 and four of the eight losses (Clemson-19, Oklahoma-17, Clemson-16, Michigan State-15) were to CFP teams. Against non-CFP teams the Buckeyes are 73-4.
- The first two years of the CFP, PSU was down (7-6 in both 2014 and 2015) and Rutgers got close in 2014 but since then PSU has generally been a borderline CFP contender.
- Michigan and Harbaugh are criticized for their lack of wins against high-end teams but Harbaugh has been incredibly good at beating the teams he should beat. In five years from 2015-2019 Michigan has only lost ONE GAME to a team that finished without double-digit wins.
- Michigan State has slumped a bit three of the last four years but the other three years since the inception of the CFP they were either in it (2015) or close (2014 and 2017).
Over the last six years Rutgers' record against the teams in their division is:
- 0-6 vs tOSU
- 0-6 vs PSU
- 0-6 vs MSU
- 1-5 vs M
- 2-4 vs UMD
- 2-4 vs IU
They practically start every year 0-4 then factor in the crossovers:
- 0-3 vs UW
- 0-3 vs UNL
- 0-2 vs MN
- 0-2 vs IA
- 0-1 vs NU
- 1-3 vs ILL
- 1-0 vs PU
