Has anyone been to the <a href="https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state-football-recruiting/2017/07/83550/commit-watch-friday-night-lights-brings-top-prospects-to-columbus-potential-for-more-july-fireworks">Friday Night Lights </a> that OSU is doing?
Is it something I a fan would like to see? Or is it just a glorified love fest for potential recruits?

Vegas is listing odds on Schiano to become the next coach at Ole Miss. I hope that's not the case.

I guess he started it at Florida, and it must be pretty effective because many have copied it or done something similar since.
Many commitments have come from this event in the past, and many new discovered future commits have made their case.

Possible but I would think they'll be looking for a Southerner and someone who knows how to avoid stepping in the steaming cow pies in Oxford.
-
Darius Slade who flipped from Nebraska to MSU to OSU in the last like 5 weeks before Signing Day is transferring to Arizona State, so his coach can really fine tune his lack of commitment abilities.
-
Thought he would really be in the mix.Buckeyes are loaded at DE and usually convert a few inside.Good luck to him moving forward

I've got an "The Ultimate Buckeye" Poster from 2012. Does anyone think there should be any updates from the last 5 years?<br><br>(https://www.cfb51.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fthumb.ibb.co%2FjMoJkQ%2F20170725_141332.jpg&hash=9da9abc678750a52bf6b35347c9e86aa) (http://ibb.co/jMoJkQ)<br>

Think "Arm" could go to Cardale Jones. "Tenacity" could go to Zeke. And Joey Bosa needs to be in there somewhere.

Practice started today for the Bucks. My biggest concerns at this point:
1) WRs by a mile.
2) Mike Weber is a bit of a hot head and extremely emotional. I just have a bad feeling he is going to make some big mistakes in key games. Sparty totally rattled him last year and I expect other teams to try the same.
3) I have to list secondary since it is mostly new players, but the Buckeyes always seem to reload here.
4) I am not concerned about JT at all.

I never new Weber was a hot head. I will have to watch for that.
I share your concerns about the receiving Corp. talented but inexperienced. But my biggest concern is the secondary. You just can't put that many guys in the NFL in three consecutive seasons and not get burned.
The new crew is loaded with talent, just terribly green outside of Ward and Webb.
My guess is BAker Mayfield comes in and takes advantage knocking them out of the top ten quickly. But they will be super solid by mid season just due to excellent competition and coaching at practice.

Haha, you should have seen the game thread last year with Sparty. Weber could've easily been tossed. I know ELA was calling for it. His old Michigan HS foes really rattled him.

DT Michael Hill suspended for at least one game for some rumored ganja related offense

I think you might be thinking of someone else, I mailed it in in November and didn't watch more than a couple scattered plays for the rest of the year. I didn't even watch the lone conference win over Rutgers. I did see some snippets of MSU-OSU in channel surfing, but I don't recall having an opinion on it. Maybe I've forgotten though.

Good article on how OSU's offense may look compared to the past couple years. It's at least looking like a better plan - simple reads for JT based off of the running game and trying to get the defense to think a lot. There run and passing looks should be a lot more similar than they had.
-
Hoping that it works for JT and crew. I love those low risk 5-8 yard plays. Puts so much pressure on a defense that is facing 2nd and 3 or 3rd and 1.

Those 5-8 yard plays are fine until you prove you don't have the ability to go much further downfield than that and the other team begins to put 9 men in the box. Although you hate to see a wasted play going for an unsuccessful long downfield throw, it keeps the defense from loading up the box on you.
This is what hurt the offense last year. They failed to show the ability to go over the top to the point where TSUN and Clemson did not respect anything down field and loaded up to contain everything within a 10 yd box. And against a good, athletic defense, going sideways does nothing but allow the defense to leverage the sideline to force the ball back towards the defense.

Exactly. The 2015 game is what happens with the other. Let a team put 9 on the box and it tends not to go well.

Dang, I miss devin smith.

So I think Wisconsin, Nebraska, Minnie, Iowa and NU are all going to be pretty good this year.
The West should come down to Wisconsin and whichever of the other four can step it up.
It may simply all come down to THE GAME between Minnie and UW on the last weekend.
Any thoughts?
Heh.

Row the boat ya scalawag

You Sparties all look alike to me.

Lol. You mean the other Game.
Iowa and Minnie finish 1 - 2 in your div.

Betcha 1 Dollar, Mortimer.
So said Randolph.

Saw an interview with OSU's DB coach where he said they are going to start rotating corners more liberally. That Clemson had a series in the Fiesta Bowl where they brought out new WRs on 3 straight plays and just ran vertical gos. By the third one the OSU CBs were so burned out they couldn't keep up, and that he's noticing this more and more. The use of speedy backup WRs largely as decoys to just go run deep and wear out the corners.

This will certainly serve to widen the chasm between the haves and have nots. Unless you're bringing an A squad, an A- squad and a B+ squad, you're going to get passed by. IIRC, Alabama learned this the hard way. Just that they had the depth but didn't rotate like madmen against Ohio State.

Paul Keels rules.
-
With a DVR and the Tunein website it's really easy to sync up the Paul Keels call with the video stream these days.
You get the game rolling on your big screen, piping Paul Keels' booming voice through your bassy sound system...
...the experience will just blow the pants right off of your body.

JK Dobbins has been getting a lot of buzz. Some talk he is the #2 RB behind Weber. With Weber dealing with a hamstring injury, we might see a lot of him next Thursday.
-
Anyone going to the game?
Is it time to start an OSU vs. IU thread?
I got my tics in the mail Section 103 row 10.
-
It is time...
-
Joey Burrow broke his hand.
Might be one of those third string QB kinda years.
-
That didn't work out too bad last time.
From a UW standpoint.. I think Cardale just threw another TD... Devin Smith just ran across my deck...
