ESPN (a la Sports in Spanish, aka The Ocho) re-released its all-time team. I'm not going to piss about it, just post theirs and 2 others to see similarities and such. ESPN's team is a poop sandwich, btw.

I will share one little factoid:
Staubach's season stats the year after he won the Heisman:
4 TD, 10 INT........-1 yard rushing for the season. But he was the best ever.

I'll humbly say that I wouldn't consider where a guy was drafted or care about even one down of his NFL career for this. I guess I'd be in the steep minority.
-
I don't see Bubba Smith's name here. Oversight???
-
He's on some 2nd teams, but I just listed the 3 different 1st teams.

I was just giving you a hard time. He's my all time favorite DE, and I remember the game of the century although I can't recall the year; I was about 9-years old. He was a big man who could move, and hit hard.

I'm with you. NFL success or lack thereof should have no impact on whom we consider the greatest in CFB.

FWIW, Staubach got hurt the first game of his last year, and missed 40 percent of the season (probably wasn't healthy the rest of the way).

Is Herschel over rated? Hmmmmm.

I don't think so.

Was rice that good in college or is that a based upon his professional career?

Yes, but on a lower level. This is DQing in OAM's mind, but IRRC he set a mess of records and was ninth in Heisman voting on a 1-AA team.
