Jackpot Bowling was originally aired on NBC in the early 60s, and was primarily a way for NBC to cook some time off a 30-year contract they gave Milton Berle while he was at the height of his popularity.
The league teams have a solid bowl docket, headlined by Ohio State appearing in the national semifinal vs. Clemson. Ohio State skunked the rest of a solid league, and Clemson beat up an ACC that was an insult to garbage.

you guessing that Fields is injured in the first half, or the Buckeyes have a huge lead at the half and they rest Fields for the final?

The latter. I think Fields plays into the second half but mostly is handing the ball off, and I think they shut down his running. He'll be 12 for 15 passing for 147 yards and have -10 "running".

Bowling shows were very popular in 60s-80s. Top bowlers made more dough than the biggest pro football stars. It was a local television staple. I remember Bowling for Dollars, Bowling w the Champs and The Bowling Game w long runs. Those later two programs were locally produced on Milwaukee affiliates and independents.
