I think Phil Dawson is still playing in the NFL. He was our place kicker from the mid 90s, most notably he scored the game-winning field goal against UVA in Austin in 1995. They were actually a ranked and respected team back then, with Ronde andTiki Barber among others.

Shane Lechler, the most potent weapon in the aggies offense [wink] in the late 90's, was still playing up until last year. He was our punter in case you forgot.

Darren Sproles. Wasn't he the guy that ruined OU's perfect season in 2003? The so called Best Team Ever?

Couldn't be. 2005/6 USC was the "Best Team Ever." ESPN ran a full-month series on how that Trojan team would stack up against the best teams of all time, and USC was viewed favorably in all matchups. Pretty sure they even stated USC would have beaten Russia at Stalingrad.

I am continuously in awe of Justin Tucker, the hero kicker who gave A&M their last loss to the longhorns.
I mean, I know kickers can last longer than players at other positions, but the fact that he is still killing it and nearly always the most accurate kicker every season is unreal!

Since Gigem mentioned him, I suspect that's not the guy. Was there by some chance a bit of official malfeasance in a UT-A&M game? Hard to imagine that it could be so.
*Before any panties get twisted into a wad, I agree that there was probably a fraction of a second still on the clock when Colt McCoy's pass went out of bounds. But if zebras were normally that careful about that last possible tenth of a second, there wouldn't have been nearly as much heartburn about it. Nobody should complain about correct calls, but nearly everybody's got a favorite incorrect call they wish had been overruled with as much scrupulousness as that one was.

Im really not in the group of conspiracy advocates that some are but let’s just say that said ref, perhaps the same guy that put 1 second back on the clock vs Nebraska, made a very, very questionable late hit out of bounds call that put the previously referred to Mr Tucker in position to make that kick.
Shortly after the game there were some pictures that surfaced showed him purportedly wearing UT gear.
There are a fair amount of Aggies (and Nebraskans) that believe that you have to beat the refs as well as the Longhorns.
But I’m not one of them.

This is the play for those who are interested. I haven’t seen it in many years but I have to admit that it’s quite possible it would be called targeting now.
I thought then as I think now that it was bullshit, but if we wanted to win we should’ve not been in position to lose at that point.
We had our chances to win outright, it’s just one of those things that happen during the game.

Surprisingly Justin Tucker was the field goal kicker and made every punt in the game? That must be a rarity. I know in the past we’ve had kickers do this because of injury and such but that is really rare.

Austin Siebert (now playing for the Cleveland Browns) handled all of OU's kicking and punting chores last year.
That didn't look like much of a hit. And it didn't look like the Horn player was out of bounds, unless he had already stepped out and back in.
We had one called on us in Dallas when our guy chasing Chase McCoy out of bounds put his hands on Colt's shoulders to steady him as they went into the crowd on the sideline.
I imagine that UT fans can cite a similar instance where a zebra who lives and has a business in Austin Norman has called something like that on the Horns.

I was mistaken. He wasn’t out of bounds, but it was called as a PF late hit. It was a first down play. A picture came out right after the game supposedly showing that ref wearing UT garb. Whatever. We had 4 turnovers including Tannehill’s pick 6. I was glad to see Sherman go. He could recruit and evaluate talent but he just didn’t know how to coach a college game.

In recent years I've actually kind of liked the Eagles players. But their fans are so horrible and undeserving, that I can never wish anything but ill for them. When they won the superbowl a few years back, it was truly vomit-worthy.
