Up early and set to hit the road. That’s a mighty thread title.Where are you headed?
Where are you headed?Work assignment. Too secret locale. :67:
Work assignment. Too secret locale. :67:I'm going to decide you are going to Area 51. To watch football with aliens and show them our ways.
Also, wondering if UW can get a moral victory of some sort today. Not sure how that would look.
At least Navy-Tulane should be fire.
Coffee is wonderful. You take this bean like thing from a tropical plant, let it sit, then heat it for a while, then grind it to a powder, and soak it in hot water.Coffee - Black,if I want Hazelnut,Pumpkin Spice,French Vanilla or Irish Cream - I'll get the ice creams or Liqueurs.Only time I flavor it is at Christmas Time with Egg Nog :a035:
Out comes this unattractive brown liquid that really doesn't taste that good and is wonderful.
I still don't understand Starbucks.
Howdy all.Howdy good luck today - with in reason
It's supposed to be a wet one today in Columbus. My wife has to work. I'm gonna try to unload the kids to the neighbors and enjoy what should be a great day of football.Crap one car is in the shop and Cindy has the other one.Otherwise I'd drive down 71 and keep you company. No I wouldn't then I'd need a designated driver to the hotel. You prolly wouldn't be able to handle my bright insightful IlluminEssensce into the contest - your head would explode.Never mind forget I even mentioned it :017: .Oh and Go Buckeyes
Beautiful morning in the greatest Twin Cities in the world. 55, sunny, a goregeous fall day.Ya well until you get that DR - we'll treat you like the rest of the rabble - SIR
I made it through yesterday's PE exam. Hopefully, in 6 to 8 weeks, I get confirmation from NCEES that I don't need to do that again.
Beautiful morning in the greatest Twin Cities in the world. 55, sunny, a goregeous fall day. How's your head feeling? I remember taking those exams. Going in, I figured I'd get out and do some partying afterward.
I made it through yesterday's PE exam. Hopefully, in 6 to 8 weeks, I get confirmation from NCEES that I don't need to do that again.
Ya well until you get that DR - we'll treat you like the rest of the rabble - SIRSo you'll treat him like you treat me? He'd probably rather not pass then.
So you'll treat him like you treat me? He'd probably rather not pass then.Oh hell his graduation party would be to die for, slow roasted brats, with toasted kaiser rolls, raw onion & brown mustard and a side of cold Yuengling.Hell I still owe him a Natty Lite Tall Boy - it's the least I could do - provided I ever get up there to row the boat.Hell the Goophs vs Bucky is shaping up like an epic clash, after the battle of Titans Today of course
Old fashioned spaghetti and meatballs today. Picked up a meatball recipe from a chef in Rome on our last trip.Ditto on the spaghetti. It’s the one thing I make that is a true family recipe, being more than 50% Italian.
How's your head feeling? I remember taking those exams. Going in, I figured I'd get out and do some partying afterward.I actually walked out of there not nearly as brain dead as I did leaving the EIT exam. I managed to go to Costco and home before I completely unwound from the test.
Nope. All I could do was think about my head hitting the pillow. And my head was so big, I could barely get it in the car to drive home.
EIT was the worst for that.
Old fashioned spaghetti and meatballs today. Picked up a meatball recipe from a chef in Rome on our last trip. That's awesome. We took a pasta making class in Rome when we were there. I finally figured out making pasta, which I struggled with just from recipes
Bread making is on my "to learn" list. But it's not that high of a priority because we rarely carb it up.
And there are companies out there getting $7 for a loaf of bread too.
Noonish viewingMost of my state friends have that same dream.
State at Texas A&M, SECN: Mostly wanting to see the Bulldogs fail so that Joe Moorhead can end up at Rutgers. That is my secret dream.
I hear the elephant hunting is good around there. That’s called poaching and it’s illegal.
That's awesome. We took a pasta making class in Rome when we were there. I finally figured out making pasta, which I struggled with just from recipesYeah, I'm not doing the pasta homemade today, but I do love it. We took our classes in Florence - Fall of 2017 and another one this past May. I'm using dry pasta I bought in Rome for today's meal.
Bread making is on my "to learn" list. But it's not that high of a priority because we rarely carb it up.My wife's in charge of that. We (more she) learned at this little place in Tuscany, near Florence. Her starter is not as old as his was (150 years, he claimed). But she makes some mean bread.
Sooners 20 KSU 17, Liberty & Rutgers @ 21 apiece.K-St goes ahead of the Sooners 24-20 ya go Purple kitties
Shit Fields limping offShould be redshirting.
Chase Young is a monsterI hate him.
I hate him.Me too.
I hate watching OSU play. Penn State is going to get killed.OSU to the SEC. SUNJ to the MAC.
Knowing that will make him loose sleepLoose?
Flipping over to KState leading Oklahoma 34-23 in 3rd, with 1st & Goal at Sooner 3.Good idea. I can't watch Purdue any longer.
Edit: make that 41-23 KState leads w/ 5 left in 3rd
Loose?Thought I'd double your pleasure
Turncoat.
Rutgers appears to have orchestrated an upset of Liberty.don't see Ohio State upsetting Liberty.
I think it hits him but I’m not sure there’s enough there to overturn this.when you say 'enough' do you mean a $20 million for the XII?
I’m actually surprised that was overturned.I'm typically anti-replay but he obviously touched it short and they only recovered because of his touch
Rolling right into Auburn LSU
I don't really understand that either, but I also don't scheme defenses.
Everyone else uses two players on Chase Young. Wisconsin seemed to stubbornly not do that; and he wrecked havoc in the back field.
Wisconsin is the real deal and should be considered the top of the conference. OSU will give them a good test but its clear so far without injuries Wisconsin will win that game on the 26th
What's clear is OSU and Wisconsin have performed the best on the field through the first half of the season.
What's also clear is both teams need to take care of business next week to make Benthere2's statement bare any weight.
To date OSU and Wisconsin have the top two Running backs in the league.
I think OSU D line is a bit better, I think Wisconsin's O line is amazing. Strength on strength battle there.
OSU QB is a bit more dynamic.
Playing the game in the Shoe will be an advantage for OSU.
I think it will come down to line play; can OSU O line play well enough for the dynamic players to make an impact, Can Wisconsin's O line play well enough to keep the chains moving. And momentum plays, big stops, turnovers, 20+ yard gains.
All that to say, if the 2 best teams in the league can hold serve next week, the game in two weeks should be amazing. But, I don't think we can clearly say Wisconsin will win.
Soaked. Thinking I'ma gonna get sick. And stuck in a paring garage. So worth it.I wasn't going to mention this, but since you did, yep.
Might as well phone an OSU/UW post in.
Wow. What an awesome game!
So Playing Jump around in the 4th, seemed like a pretty big troll.
Dobbins stiff arming Orr to the ground for a 30 yard scamper seemed to kinda break Badger spirit. He went untouched for a TD (3 score lead) on the next play.
I thought Meyer was gonna watch the game from an undisclosed location; they had him on the Jumbo tron just grinning.
Everyone else uses two players on Chase Young. Wisconsin seemed to stubbornly not do that; and he wrecked havoc in the back field.
How much has changed in the last 2 weeks? Not playing teams from Michigan has clearly hurt UW.
I wasn't going to mention this, but since you did, yep.C'mon lord forbid 18-22 yr olds should have a blast at a home game.It wasn't violent or objects thrown. After all UW student section always behave right?
No class, and not at all surprising.
I wasn't going to mention this, but since you did, yep.
No class, and not at all surprising.
C'mon lord forbid 18-22 yr olds should have a blast at a home game.It wasn't violent or objects thrown. After all UW student section always behave right?Students are in charge of the DJ booth in The Shoe?
I wasn't going to mention this, but since you did, yep.We didn't come here to play school
No class, and not at all surprising.
Students are in charge of the DJ booth in The Shoe?Lighten up Francis I couldn't hear the damn DJ Booth, maybe the band chimed in the crowd was into it.Go up to your student section and wear opposing team gear at the next night game like a E.N. & T specialist I know feared for his life in 2012 OT game.
We didn't come here to play schoolThat's obvious, listening to post-game interviews.
Lighten up Francis I couldn't hear the damn DJ Booth, maybe the band chimed in the crowd was into it.Go up to your student section and wear opposing team gear at the next night game like a E.N. & T specialist I know feared for his life in 2012 OT game. The UW student section is bad, no question. I don't know what can be done about it, except to take away their tickets.
The UW student section is bad, no question. I don't know what can be done about it, except to take away their tickets.
Ever been to Madison?
Not much should be done about it. Students are under a lot pressure and the student section is one of the better ways to blow off steam vice alcohol, parties, etc. Whatever powers that be who are fussing about student sections should take an afternoon at an NFL game. The behavior I’ve stood amidst at NFL games is measurably more vulgar than anything I’ve witnessed at college games.
Coach's son faking more injuries. He acted like he was shot in 1st qtr.He did that vs Maryland too.
The UW student section is bad, no question. I don't know what can be done about it, except to take away their tickets. From what I can tell, they can't get in very fast, and security would rather throw them out than give them the time of day.
Absent a miracle, MSU will have gone two full games without a point. Dantonio era ending with a wimperIt's over?
It's over?I'm thinking it has to be. He's clearly lost it, and he's recruited some of his problems too.
From what I can tell, they can't get in very fast, and security would rather throw them out than give them the time of day. They can't expect to get to their seats on time when they show up at the gate with 5 minutes to go before the kick. Getting blasted is clearly the priority for them. I'd say take away a couple of sections and let lower income people buy the tickets for the student price.
It might be time.Yep, probably. Maybe go after someone on the OSU staff, or possibly bring Nards back?? Matt Campbell? How about Les Miles? It'd be humorous to see Miles beat Harbs.
I was with a UW student this week in WI, he said 'nobody wants to go in before kickoff '. Everyone blames the process. We don't care. Booze>kickoff. More bottom news. That's kids today. It's always someone else's fault.
From what I can tell, they can't get in very fast, and security would rather throw them out than give them the time of day.BTW, I saw you on TV earlier. Was watching until the game turned into a (row) boat race.
Bring on Penn State
Has Gameday ever visited Minnesota? Can’t think of a better sell than 8-0 Penn St @ 8-0 Minnesota!Nope. It's probably between TC and Jacksonville.
They will go to Minny. WLOCP is a CBS enterprise.Fox will likely choose PSU/Minnie and probably have their B1G tailgate there. I got it wrong too. The game is not until November 9, so, if Bama and LSU are still #1 and #2, ESecPN will certainly be at that one.
I’m laying under a blanket, watching it rain outside, while eating chicken and dumplings and drinking a beer. I’m in heaven. How do you make your chicken and dumplings? Post the recipe on the cookbook thread please.
Can we kick out Maryland while we're at it?LOL!

Hoosiers.....It's unreal how things change. 20 years ago nobody would even consider IU going into Lincoln and doing what they are doing.
K60-Pretty sure you were already posting by the time I came along. It was somewhere around 2002 I think, maybe late ‘01.
When did you start posting at the original CFN? You were on there before I was, I'm certain. The TacO man was too, some of the SEC guys.
Pretty sure you were already posting by the time I came along. It was somewhere around 2002 I think, maybe late ‘01.If you were 2001, I was after you. I showed up in 2002. You and I bantered a bit on the UW/WVU results. That's when became board buddies.
If you were 2001, I was after you. I showed up in 2002. You and I bantered a bit on the UW/WVU results. That's when became board buddies.Yep, I remember that.
Damn Auburn you've pissed some chances away here
Michigan...can run the ball? The line is clicking right now.
Really surprised how well Michigan is running the ball against Notre Dame’s outsized DL.I'm not. ND is overrated as usual.
Fox will likely choose PSU/Minnie and probably have their B1G tailgate there. I got it wrong too. The game is not until November 9, so, if Bama and LSU are still #1 and #2, ESecPN will certainly be at that one.I heard that fox and abc bid on weeks or alternate weeks or some such. So maybe not out of the realm of possibility.
Where the hell was this OL play all season long?Lots of teams look great against ACC teams.
Where the hell was this OL play all season long? The loss vs PSU stung, but something happened at halftime and a new Michigan team came out of the locker room.
K60-I think I started before the 2002 season, maybe. Before kids and a wife and back when I had free time.
When did you start posting at the original CFN? You were on there before I was, I'm certain. The TacO man was too, some of the SEC guys.
Lots of teams look great against ACC teams.Yeah I don’t know. Michigan’s OL was looking weak vs Army and Mac teams.
I think I started before the 2002 season, maybe. Before kids and a wife and back when I had free time. You and a guy called "Big Blue" were there before me.
Just when I was going to say something nice about Patterson...Patterson is awful.
Patterson is awful.I think you and I have been saying this for nearly 2 seasons now.
Wow. The Wolverines are really taking it to the Domers.Their defense is dominating and their OL is as well. Backs look good too. Patterson however looks awful. As usual.
FIFYIrishRefs trying to make it a game
horrible PI call, overturned a M interception and lead to a ND TD.That’s as bad as it gets. Harbaugh pissed off someone somewhere because his team has had some awful calls against them this year.
UCLA is smoking Arizona State. They have been on fire offensively last few weeks.
Just noticed half the students at KU game are wearing KU hoops gear and unis.
TTUN uniforms losing names and numbers again.Prolly cause it’s all garbage that’s made cheaply and poorly in China and sold for ridiculous prices to idiots in the US.
Fox will likely choose PSU/Minnie and probably have their B1G tailgate there. I got it wrong too. The game is not until November 9, so, if Bama and LSU are still #1 and #2, ESecPN will certainly be at that one.
IU/UNL a very interesting game. I wonder what Michigan's McCaffrey thinks about his younger brother getting to play as a freshman in Lincoln.well, QBs #1 and #2 are injured
If I'm him, I'm regretting going to Transfer QB University. Heh.
Have to think just how big that drop from Ronnie Bell was last week. If he hangs onto that and Michigan forces OT good chance they would’ve pulled the W out.Grover - getting a little ahead of yourself there, even if Bell hangs on it's a tie game with the PAT.Changes PSU's attack also.DPJ had 2 big drops in the 1st half that stalled a drive or two
Imagine them coming off a comeback win in Happy Valley at night and then beating the snot out of ND the next week.
Unfortunately....that is likely the case. However....they have been making a push to get to campuses that they have never been to. Ames (Iowa State) got their first Gameday this year. Alabama and LSU basically get Gameday every year....and are featured as the visiting team another couple of times.how about 11/30 when the Badgers visit?
And LOL! I just saw this from Fleck's post game presser. He's straight up calling out ESPN for Gameday.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGGHx1Y3o6o (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGGHx1Y3o6o)
Grover - getting a little ahead of yourself there, even if Bell hangs on it's a tie game with the PAT.Changes PSU's attack also.DPJ had 2 big drops in the 1st half that stalled a drive or twoI don’t know man. Seems like Michigan had all the momentum in that 2nd half. The M defense came alive and Patterson got his head out of his ass that 2nd half. I think Ronnie Bell catches that TD pass and the game ties up 28-28, Michigan would’ve been on cloud 9 and feeling confident as hell that the W was there’s. They flat dominated PSU that entire 2nd half.
Wow, next weeks slate is just horrendous.
It will be interesting to see which of the four duds will get highlighted by ELA as the Game of the Week. Nebraska @ Purdue?

Moved away from the snow. Not mad about it.Yep. Drove the Jeep in to work today with the top down.
Yep. Drove the Jeep in to work today with the top down.Take a drive a little North on the 405 and let me know how things go.
I mean, it was a little chilly (56 degrees), so I wore a light coat. But when I leave the office it should be mid-70s, so I won't need it.

I won't need the coat.Bring a mask, and burn salve.
My extend family always worries that I'm being affected by the fires and mudslides in California...My SIL is up on Mulholland, across the 405 from the Getty... Ruh roh..
I mean, for that to be a thing, you need to live near trees or hills.
Who's got that kind of money???
My SIL is up on Mulholland, across the 405 from the Getty... Ruh roh..Sincerely, my best wishes to her... Although I'm sure she got out safely, hopefully she has someplace to go back to once this is over.
Yep. Drove the Jeep in to work today with the top down.Little snow no problem can't say as I miss mud slides, sink holes, earthquakes and wild fires as we don't get them.Just seeing that good luck to your SIL and all concerned 847

The ATL might be one place with relatively low "natural disaster" potential. There are occasional tornadoes of course, and the ice storms can paralyze the place for a day.And don't forget mosquitoes...
Droughts can be an annoyance.
And there is the pine pollen season.
And don't forget mosquitoes...
I'll live with earthquakes, mudslides, wildfires, etc if it means I don't get bit multiple times every day at dusk.
Try Phoenix.Nah. CA is hot enough. Sometimes a little too hot for my taste.
Maybe Flagstaff or Sedona. I've been to Albuquerque and it's not nearly as hot as Phoenix due to the elevation. Those would be options.those are all spots I will be looking into in a few years for a retirement destination

Too much snow up the elevation.I can tell you about too much snow
