Got to watch Clemson lose in a fun game, then wake up to see Wazzu got whipped by Cal. Wife is going out of town so it's just me and the girls and the dogs and maybe a few pints of Oktoberfest. Need to take a look at the schedule and figure out what ho wmuch whining I'll get from the kids that I'm watching football all day.
-
Noon kick for Michigan and the Hoosiers. Definitely watching that one. My secretaries at work are Michigan fans and they call O'Korn "Okra." Which works. Okra v. the Hoosiers
-
Can't believe that Clemson lost to Syracuse. Just shows you how hard it is to win every single week in the P5.
Which just goes to show you how insane Urban's record is at Bowling Green, Utah, Florida, and now Ohio State. He's 170-30 at those 4 stops thus far. He's won 85% of his games in his career. Just insane. Same thing with Saban who wins 86% of his games at his stint at Alabama- he's 120-19- and 6 of those 19 losses for Saban came in his first year. He's only lost 13 games in the last 9 and a half seasons. Crazy.
-
Normally keep close enough tabs to at least know an upset happening, but went with my brother to a Halloween event last night and looked down to see a bunch of texts on a group text after Clemson lost. Very fun.
-
tell ya what- that MSU loss for Michigan still stings- but maybe not quite as bad after seeing #2 Clemson lose to an unranked 3-3 Syracuse team that had lost to Middle Tennessee State. Or #8 Washington State- who were 17 point favorites- losing by 34 points to an unranked 3-3 Cal team that had been blow out by Oregon and Washington.
Don't get me wrong- losing sucks- but it just puts things into perspective. Hard to win every single week. Media lost it's mind and tried to manufacture controversy when Harbaugh lost a game. Imagine if Harbaugh had lost a game by 34 points in which he was a 17 point favorite? The me-idiots would've lost their damn minds.
-
We may just look back at this point in the season and think Harbaugh has them right where he wants them.
With that defense, and just a LITTLE bit of rhythm on offense, they still have the horse to beat anyone on their schedule. I for one want to see how PSU, Wisconsin and OSU try to move the ball on them.
I think they smash the Hoosiers today.
-
My early read on the Wolverines were they reminded me of the '02 Buckeyes, with a near impenetrable defense and an uphill battle on offense. But the Bucks had Michael Jenkins and Maurice Clarett. The Wolverines don't seem to have much in the way of playmakers.
-
Today is rib day. Gonna stop at the pork store on the way home from the harbor (I'm done now) and also the farmer's market to see what will go with.

I heard this week Saban has won 70 straight against unranked teams. That's an insane streak of not having a single slip up. The all time record is 73 by the Geno Toretta era Canes. So either that record is about to be broken it we haven't seen the craziest upset yet.
-
Crazy upsets in CFB the last two weeks - let the mayhem continue. With exception of the contest tonite in Lincoln of course

I got stuff to make pizza with the girls. I got the premade Boboli crusts, which aren't too bad. Homemade pizza crusts are fine, I've done them before, but when doing them in the oven I don't get enough heat to justify them. Plus they are a pain in the ass.

Try offset on the grill

Try offset on the grill
Oh I've got a whole setup on the grill, but it's kind of a pain to set up for a couple pepperoni pizzas. But there I can get temps over 900 degrees.

Wazzu 7 turnovers and 2 TDs negated by penalty (one was total bs)
Cal 0 turnovers.

Anyone else take wine with their college football? I've got a few of Merlot Minis (.187mL) to finish off.

Anyone else take wine with their college football? I've got a few of Merlot Minis (.187mL) to finish off.
Definitely. In my old age more than a couple beers gives me a heavy feeling. I've been getting into various red blends lately.
-
I take wine with any occasion, but not from minis.
Maybe splits depending.
Was at a complimentary wine tasting at our local restaurant last night and they were pouring over 20 bottles, one of which was $300 retail, and several were over $100. The cheapest was $45.
There is a lot of profit in the wine biz.

Well those '02 Bucks had a WAY better OL than this Michigan OL. And you hit the nail right on the head- they had an elite RB in Clarett- who was just a true Frosh at the time- and their leading WR was an upperclassmen that was 6'3 and a 1st round NFL draft pick in Jenkins. Michigan's best talents at WR are all underclass men. Their leading upperclassman WR is a 5'11" Grant Perry who will not sniff the NFL draft let alone be a 1st round pick like Jenkins.
Not to mention the QB. Craig Krenzel was a better QB than either Speight or O'Korn. Krenzel wasn't going to win you games with his arm- but he sure as hell wasn't going to try to lose you games like Speight and O'Korn seem happy to do.
-
Definitely. In my old age more than a couple beers gives me a heavy feeling. I've been getting into various red blends lately.
Perfect send those frosty suds my way.You can start with the Oktoberfests
-
Haven't got to participate in these very much this year. I like Michigan -7.5 against Indiana today. WVU REALLY needs to be what looks like an improved Texas Tech team today. Hope everyone's team wins today.
-

He has good hands & speed someone will find a spot for him
-
Lagow was way better than this new guy, who looks like he come in off the Michigan bench.
-
14-7 Texas Tech just halfway through the 1st.
-
Wasn't a perfect throw, but Perry should've had that. That's why you want a 6'2 or 6'3 WR and not a 5'11" one.
Ty Wheatley has a cast on his hand. Explains why he hasn't gotten as much run as he should've.
DPJ would've had a big play on that screen pass if O'Korn didn't throw such a horrible pass. DPJ would've had a touchdown on that deep ball if O'Korn didn't over throw him.
WHY they continue run Chris Evans in the I-formation- beyond me. He's not a real RB. He's a hybrid player who is best in space.
Kareem Walker sighting. Has a great run for 10 yards. So naturally they take him right out of the game. One run- but boy that eye test tells me he's the best talent they have at RB. Higdon is too small, Isaac has ball security issues and runs scared despite being 6'3, 230. Evans isn't a true RB- he's more of a hybrid player.
I swear this coaching staff is just stupid with how they use personnel.
-
He has good hands & speed someone will find a spot for him
He'll get undrafted or drafted in the 7th round if he's lucky. He's small and his speed is just average- he's probably 4.6. Probably not getting drafted at 5'11, 180, running 4.6.
-
The Backyard Brawl brothers both have a chance to knock off a ranked team.
-
Michigan has a guy named Furbush.

Rutgers is really Fighting the Illini.
Un 14-3 in the 2nd.
-
That's what Okorn can do when he's clicking. Not a lot of QB's pull that off.Stick it MGOBLOG
-
Dumb move by Scales
-
Too bad Scales couldn't have saved that for the second half.
-
Lot of empty seats and half-filled stadiums in these early games. Only so many Vols fans getting a chance to see Butch Davis actually outcoach somebody, even if that somebody is Muschamp. Not a lot at Temple (Vs UCONN), Pittsburgh (Vs NC State), Illinois (Vs Rutgers), Miss State (Vs BYU), Duke (Vs FSU).
-
Big play by Simmie Cobbs
-
That was neither a late hit or targeting. Scales starting dropping for the tackle before O'korn did.
This stupid rule has to go.
-
Thought the PI on LaVert Hill that wiped away his INT was kinda ticky tacky.
Thought this PI on the IU defender that wiped away an INT was pretty much BS.
They call PI too much. Unless it's absolutely egregious they shouldn't call it.
Anywho...O'Korn STARED down McDoom right there. Had a guy wide open in the flat on the other side of the field that would've picked up the 1st and he didn't even look. McDoom wasn't open but O'Korn locked on him and threw it anyway. O'Korn shouldn't be staring down receivers and telegraphing throws. He's a RS SR. That's Frosh and Soph mistakes.
-
Didn't see that part HB just heard some commotion when I caught the tale end of the play.Well outside to rake leaves will put on 950 out of Mowtown for this game.Love listening to the radio call on games on a nice Fall afternoon
-
McDoom just has another gear these other WR's don't. Only DPJ even comes close. Why can't McDoom have Perry's route running skills and hands? He'd be lethal.
-
Wtf. I HATE this play-calling. How can we be sure that Mike DeBord isn't calling plays for Michigan right now?
-
Michigan's offensive coaching staff straight up sucks. The play-calling is complete ass. The use of personnel is complete ass. The offense is just complete ass.
-
Man, the Scarlet Knights are just beasting the Illini.
21-10 at the half.
-
Jesus Christ. Defense making plays but shooting themselves in the foot time and time again. They are determined to let Indiana score here.
-
Absolutely pathetic. You've got so much time on the clock and it stops with a 1st and you have a time out and this is what you do?
Why not try and get into FG range with your automatic kicker who can hit from 50+ yards.
I hate this offensive staff. A lot.
-

I wish our leaves would fall before late Nov. So annoying when they hang on through first snow

I've had good luck with the stuff that comes in the "crescent roll looking" tube in the fridge section. Homemade crust is assburn for sure. Like pasta. But it's really good when you find time to dick around and do it.
-
Man, the Scarlet Knights are just beasting the Illini.
21-10 at the half.
This is why I've continually had UI at the bottom of my power rankings. They suck balls. Lovie is not a good fit there. Not sure who would be though.
-
That was neither a late hit or targeting. Scales starting dropping for the tackle before O'korn did.
This stupid rule has to go.
I honestly think the only fix is to make a QB passed the line of scrimmage down by some sort of touch rule. Or get rid of QB sliding. You want to run, take your tackles like any other player. Either rule will really hurt mobile QBs, and the first basically negates the QB as a running threat, but yeah the problem all centers around QBs sliding. They abruptly lower their heads, and the target moves.
-

It's tough to make myself go rake leaves when it's 80 out. Getting some fall weather Monday and Tuesday, but right back up into the 70s by next weekend
-
I'm sitting at a sports bar in jfk drinking an October fest waiting on my plane to Rome. Dayvin the UM I game wearing my Ohio state garb rooting for IU. Good times
-
I'll be in Rome three weeks from now.
-
Badge I have 3 racks of baby backs on the green egg right now. My parents and friends will eat well tonight. I finally have total shade over the back patio as this hr.now.

Although to add, I'm surprised if O'Korn gets any benefit of the doubt going forward after feigning another hit when he air mailed DPJ on an easy TD.
-
Ball game again in Morgantown. 35-32 Texas Tech with 13 and change to play. Their kicker is 0-3 on FG and has kept us in it.
-
South Carolina beats Tennessee 15-9 in one of the most unwatchable college football games ever played. How in the world does Butch Jones keep his job for another 4 or 5 hours?
To sum up Tuberville, in the telecast booth, saysing of this game: "It’s been a good football game. It hasn’t been real exciting...”
-
WVU now up 39-35 after trailing 35-17. Still an eternity with 9:16 to play.
-
Indiana was a bobble away from making it really, really interesting.
-
The 6 point swing with the officials taking the IU FG off the board, and instead giving up a block leading to an easy 3 for UM is huge right now.
-
Yay! Max Bortenschlag....Zzzzzzzz
Good game NU.
No offense seals the deal for Maryland.
-
Kansas about to lose 40something straight road games
-
How could Harbaugh not figure out til now Higdon was his best TB?
-
Too much intensity and not enough insightfulness
-
Feeels like Michigan never fired Hoke.
-
Jesus what a long game
-
Holy hell what happened in the UM-IU game? Was outside and had it on the radio with like 4 min left it was M20 & IU 10 stopped over to chat with a neighbor and come back and it's 27-20 UM.Evidently i missed 4 minutes of beautiful mayhem.Dayum
-
I've always liked Purdue's regular helmets, about damn time they wore them.
-
Yay! Max Bortenschlag....Zzzzzzzz
Good game NU.
No offense seals the deal for Maryland.
As long as Maryland can stick some cones out there on defense and put helmets on them, Northwestern will struggle to move the ball.
-
After 1 quarter
NU 3
MD 7
btw, Justin Jackson just became the all-time leading Wildcat rusher :)
-
Sounds good MH. Mine are in the oven low and slow. Too much rain up here.
Jonathan Taylor.. Kid's amazing.
Butch Jones... Done.
-
So much for Purdue keeping it close for a half with tough run defense before getting worn down. 178 yards given up to Wisconsin (98 rushing) in just the first quarter.
-
Badgers keep shooting themselves in the foot, keeping Purdue hanging around.
-
Badgers keep shooting themselves in the foot, keeping Purdue hanging around.
Story of Wisconsin's season. If they could cut the mistakes, they'd be as impressive as anyone in the nation outside of Tuscaloosa.
-
Badgers keep shooting themselves in the foot, keeping Purdue hanging around.
Quit sandbagging, Badge... It's currently 232 offensive yards to 44. Maybe it's only 11 points difference, but Purdue is not exactly in this game.
-
So Indiana is really excited that Rutgers is in the conference because they are no longer the punching bag? 22 years of almost versus M*ch must suck.
-
Halftime score:
NU 24
Maryland 14
go 'Cats!
-

I think that's the point. Bucky is dominating the game, but the score doesn't reflect how lopsided it is because of their mistakes.
-
NU - 327 yards
UMD - 144 yards
TOP
NU - 20:24
UMD - 9:36
Like I said.
-
Yeah I didn't account for how bad Maryland's defense is. I figured their offense would struggle, and Northwesterns offense had previously been anemic.
-
If you can look me in the eye and tell me the refs don't screw Maryland after that obvious BS Catch Interference call, you're a complete idiot.
-
Nobody ever said Maryland doesn't have bad calls against them. They do. Every school does. Maryland certainly isn't screwed anymore often, or benefitted any more often than any other school. Conference apologized last week for a bad call in Marylands favor.
-
After 3 quarters:
NU 27
Maryland 21
-
I've watched surprisingly little football today. Tried to watch the Michigan game, but it wasn't doing it for me. Took the kids to the park. Got home, made the pizzas. Patiently waiting for the Buckeyes.

Last night gave me hope that this weekend was going to deliver after all. Not so much.

Though not for very long

Not so fast my friend

LSU up 4 on Auburn with 38 seconds left
-
Coach O gets a big win.
-
'Cats actually showed up today
- good to see
- up 16 points now with just under 2 mins left in regulation
-
The U is down 2 with 90 seconds left, but nearing field goal range
-
They got to field goal range, but got a penalty for blocking below the waist. Now down to fourth down
-
A WOW catch gets Miami in chip shot range
-
Final score:
Northwestern 37
Maryland 21
- go 'Cats!
-
DJ pleading with the refs for a review on a DJ Moore catch in the corner of the endzone, and they don't.
BUT, they'll stop play for a measurement to make sure we don't pick up a first down.
F the B1G refs.
-
The Ramblin' Wreck beefed it.
-
The Midshipmen go down with the ship.
-
Sooners survive

omg florida what are you wearing

Trials and tribulations of cord cutting. Earlier this week I upgraded my SlingTV to get FS1 so I could watch the Buckeyes. Wife out of town so hitting the bar wasn't an option. Wait all day, then just as 7:30 ticks the screen goes black with a message that "This Content Isn't Available On SlingTV." So after a lot of cuss words, I scramble for a free trial of FUBO or something like that, and now the game is on. But goddammit.
-
And I get to see the mess up the kickoff
-
OMG the special teams
-
Ole stone hands
-
Tempo is gonna kill this UNL D
-
Dobbins with a little speed
-
Never seen Lincoln this dead for a night game.
-
Dobbins is special man. WHY can't we get a back like that at Michigan? This little run OSU is on since Meyer got there with Hyde then Zeke now Weber/Dobbins- super jealous.
The starting RB at Alabama- Damien Harris was a longtime Michigan commit but de-committed once Hoke was toast. Ditto with Mike Weber.
-
Mo Hurst and Nick Bosa are hands down the best dlinemen in the B1G
-
They are clearing the field here at the New Brickhouse. It's been raining all day but there must have been a lightning strike seen. No word on a potential restart time.
-
A third mistake on special teams
-
Never seen Lincoln this dead for a night game.
Yeah, it's a little odd. You'd think they'd be fired up. Riley is literally coaching for his job. Upset a top 10 Ohio State team and finish the season strong he just might be able to keep it. Maybe the fans want to get blown out 62-7 so they can fire Riley after the post-game presser? I don't know- but that atmosphere just seems dead as a door nail.
-
Mo Hurst and Nick Bosa are hands down the best dlinemen in the B1G
I'd agree with this. Mo is the best inside guy, Bosa best outside guy. Gary isn't far behind. All 3 of them will be top 10 picks in an NFL draft methinks.
-
We Don't want UNL to get blown out. But we know the outcome.
-
MSU-Minnesota in a lightning delay.
-
JT jogs in
-
Like last week, the O and D have been completely dominant, but the special teams, yeesh. Urbs coaches the special teams, and I'm worried he won't last the season if it keeps up
-
How could Harbaugh not figure out til now Higdon was his best TB?
Great coach. Not sure he's the best when it comes to personnel. Don't think his eye in that department is the greatest. Higdon is by far the best between the tackles runner out of him, Evans, and Isaac. Evans isn't really a true RB- he's more of a poor mans Curtis Samuel. Isaac is the most frustrating back ever. So much talent in that size but he's always had trouble hanging onto the ball and he runs like he's 5'8, 160 - not 6'3, 230. He should run so much harder and physical than he does but he just refuses too.
Chris Evans is a prime example of this. He's not a RB you line up in I-formation or single back. Yet he keeps using him like this.
Meanwhile AJ Dillon- the 6'1, 240 pound RB commit he told had to play LB and basically pushed into the arms of Boston College- just ran for 272 yards and 4 TD's against Louisville as a true freshman and literally ran over Louisiville defenders. Harbaugh has a 6'3, 235 RB in Ty Isaac. Except Isaac runs like he's 5'9, 160. Ya think they could use a big back who runs like a big back?
-
Like last week, the O and D have been completely dominant, but the special teams, yeesh. Urbs coaches the special teams, and I'm worried he won't last the season if it keeps up
Yeah, I appreciate his passion for special teams, but wish he'd quit pretending to be some sort of special teams guru.
He's following up Tressel, fergawdsakes. Now that was a special teams guru.
You gotta know your surroundings....
-
That was a really weak holding call that killed that Nebraska drive. Crowd finally looked like they were getting into it after that great run- then wham.
I hate officials. A lot. They should only call holding and PI that are absolutely egregious. Everything else- let them play.
-
That said, the kicker just set a Big Ten record for consecutive extra points made.
-

I have inside info that they decide every game. SHHHHH

Beautiful play call

Beautiful play call
That's a point of view statement.
-
Reporter- "DJ, I know you can't talk much about officiating, but will you be talking to the B1G office this weekend......"
DJ- (EMPHATIC) "Yes, absolutely, absolutely. I mean, wow....absolutely."
Reporter - "Do you want to talk anymore about it?"
DJ - "I mean, anyone who watched the game knows, I mean there isn't anything more to say, I mean it's, there's not anything more to say, anyone who watched that game.....wow."
-
Four drives four touchdowns
-
Yep. 4 TDs vs 4 Punts.
-
Four drives four touchdowns
Four drives, four punts. Don't get too excited.
-
After going a whole half without letting the rain bug them in Ann Arbor, MSU fumbles a snap, then a punt to give Minnesota 1st and goal at the 3.
-
After going a whole half without letting the rain bug them in Ann Arbor, MSU fumbles a snap, then a punt to give Minnesota 1st and goal at the 3.
Huge win for the D to only give up 3.
-
No punt on that Nebraska drive.
-
Not sure how much MSU can attack the beat up Minnesota secondary in this.
-
TD JT
-
Wow, thought they might make a 3rd down call to go for it on 4th. Hell of a kick in this weather.
3-3
-
I kinda feel like Randy Quiad in the 2nd Major League
-
I guess Minnesota felt like evening up the deposit your own territory turnovers
-
Cincy got a free play from their own 40 at halftime because USF was offside.
So Cincy went ahead and threw a pick 6.
-
The Utes are beating USC.
-
Darnold has fumbled twice and threw for a fumble in 1.5 quarters
-
It's games like this that make me hate technology. I'm watching the game, I don't need my phone constantly updated with the score!
-
Difference is MSU handed Minnesota two scores, and they got 2 FGs and negative total yards out of it. Minnesota handed MSU one score and they punched it in
-
MSU running the toss very effectively, but it makes me so nervous in this weather.
-
As far as Big Ten offensive MVP goes. Any stats for JT should be put on hold until Barkley gets his chance against UNL
-
Nice play for nebraska. Bucks with crappy secondary play there.
-
Nebraska begins their 2011-esque comeback.
-
Utah is up 14 at the half.
-
Well just as I was about to say Minnesota appears to have discovered their best QB is on their bench.
-
Jalyn Holmes hurt. He would be a big loss
-
That Nebraska Offense is really coming alive, in the second half.
-
Hell of a pass from Tanner Lee.
-
Ugly half
-
Is USCs OL this bad? I've only flipped over a bit, but it seems like Darnold is getting smashed on every play
-
BAMA up 41-3 on BERT.
Have to wonder how much longer his fat ass is going to last there. They didn't back up the brinks truck to pry him way from Wisconsin for this. The guy is on his 5th year about to start 2-4 with some BAD losses. Blown out by 21 at the hands of TCU, blown out by 26 by South Carolina (really??), pissed a game they had won away to Sumlin, and now blown out by Bama by 38 and counting.
Petrino was 11-2 in his 4th year. BERT started out 3-9, 7-6, 8-5, 7-6, and looks like he's starting 3-9 in the face again in year 5. He's managed to have this sort of awful record in a very down SEC where it's really just BAMA and 13 little brothers. LSU, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, Georgia- all have been kinda down.
Have to think BERT won't last the winter.
-
Then Darnold does that and you see the potential he is oozing with
-

I think Georgia is legit

I think Georgia is legit
I think Georgia is legit this year for sure. Couldn't say that last couple years. Fromm is a bad ass QB. And he's a true Frosh. Harbaugh should be DM'ing Jacob Eason on the twitters right now. Eason ain't getting that job back.
Anywho. Point still stands. BERT hasn't had to go up against an SEC with peak Urban at UF, or peak Les at LSU, or Auburn with Cam, Tennessee's been a tire fire his entire time there, and UGA is just starting to bounce back now to national power status in year 2 of the Kirby.
BERT has been really underwhelming at Arkansas.
-
MSU kickers always peak as freshmen.
The fact that Coghlin is seemingly fine makes that late run at two scholarship/greyshirt kickers even more curious
-
Then Darnold does that and you see the potential he is oozing with
I think he's probably the best NFL QB prospect in terms of complete package.
I think I'd take Rosen over him though. Rosen throws such a pretty ball. Probably best pure thrower in the upcoming draft.
I'd KILL for either one.
-

He'd have to sit out a year and then be a redshirt junior in 2019. Not sure why either side would be interested in that.

I think he's probably the best NFL QB prospect in terms of complete package.
I think I'd take Rosen over him though. Rosen throws such a pretty ball. Probably best pure thrower in the upcoming draft.
I'd KILL for either one.
I think either I feel better about, as of the time of the draft, maybe than any QB since Luck

I think Georgia is legit
I'll wait to make a judgment on Georgia until they prove they can make it through the Cocktail Party without crapping their pants.
-
USC seemingly has as many playmakers as ever, and Darnold is obviously for real. So I come back to how bad must their OL be?
-

Eason is 6'5 with a huge arm. He was a 5* QB and the #1 QB and #5 player in his class. And for good reason. I'd bet Harbaugh would be interested in a talented QB.
I think Eason is leaving Georgia at some point. Just a question of when not if.

Not sure their head coach is all that either....
-
As for the weather, I don't know if this is the most miserable weather I've ever been in here at the New Brickhouse, but we're working on it.
-
Why would you go for it on 4th and 1 in chip shot field goal range in a 20-6 game?
He got it, but man, in a low scoring game like this, take the three score lead every time.

Yeah, but why would he leave for UM unless Harbaugh told him Peters and McCaffrey were shit?

UNL has a former player on the radio broadcast. I am sadly chuckling at his comments. For as much as he can say on the "Sponsored Broadcast", it pretty much translated to GFY.

The Blackshirts get their first stop with 4 minutes to go in the game

What happened to the Minnesota QB?
-
Jesus Christ, another LJ fumble.
3rd MSU turnover inside their own 30
-
What happened to the Minnesota QB?
They benched him for the better one, who had been suspended the last few weeks. I guess. I've never heard of him. He sure looks a hell of a lot better than Rhoda
-
Yeah, Rhoda is never seeing the field again. This kid is way, way better.
MSU with a chance to seal it. Instead they hand Minnesota a TD and just like that it's a 10 point game with plenty of time left.
Problem is Scott has been easily the best back for MSU, but you flat can't trust him anymore.
-
Turnovers are the only thing MSU couldn't do. They don't even need first downs. Minnesota can't do anything on offense. Their longest scoring drive was 2 yards. Their other scoring drive was negative yards. Just run two minutes off the clock and punt it.
Then London nearly gives it away too
-
Wow, now that's a response.
Kick return to midfield, then four straight 10+ yard runs for a TD
30-13
-
Love 120 yds 2 td in 4 min.
-
ASU up 10 on UDub
Boise up 14 on SDSU
-
Utah beefed a 2 point conversion that would have given them the lead.
-
Minnesota may bite someone with this QB. Rhoda is crap
-
And that's why late hit calls are BS. MSU defender pulls up to let him run out, and instead he turns upfield for 20 yards. If he had hit him, 15 yard flag
-
This Minnesota QB....WOW
-
Phantom holding call on MSU, followed by swallowing the whistle on a tackle by the Minnesota lineman, but as a defense you need to overcome that. The defense has had some horrible unforgivable lapses this quarter.
-
This is why I don't gamble. Get dominated all night, and then pull out the cover.
I guess from MSUs perspective, you get a win and PLENTY of coachable moments.
-
Pac 12 football is fun. If you are a top 10 team your season can be wrecked by just about any team in the conference.
Bryce Love is also on pace for about 500 yards today.
-
After this, Chris Peterson might stop complaining that nobody watches these games.
-
Kahil Tate has 558 yards rushing on 29 carries in the past 2 games.
-
I was kind of meh on going to the AZ v USC in a few weeks, now it appears to be a little more interesting with Tate going the way he is for the Cats.
-
Love out w ankle inj
-
This would be the stunner to trump the Clemson loss. Wash w 7 pts. Asu can't go a quarter giving up less than 7.
-
The way ASU toppled Washington is just as surprising. Effectively shutting out Washington until the last drive. Manny Wilkins won't have impressive stats, but the pressure he held up under in managing the game was incredible. MVP goes to him and the DC for adjusting the defensive approach to include toning down the blitzing.
-
Despite having season tickets I declined attending tonight's ASU game, thus I missed witnessing ASU beat a top 5 ranked team at home for the first time since 1996. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. Today was the first full day I got to spend with my kids after being out of town for work the past 3 weeks, and we had an absolutely wonderful time today. Wouldn't trade that for anything in the world.
-
Good on you DF.Even w/o kids prolly would have need that to recharge.Time well spent
-

Didn't see it if you find it give us a link - if you can.Sounds like trickery using the rules
-
Not trickery. Nobody did anything wrong. But you see a QB looking like he's about to run oob you have to pull up. It was a heads up play by the Minnesota QB to change course and turn upfield.
-

It's an interesting situation, made more interesting if Fields ends up signing.
Eason is eligible AFTER next season. Would he get drafted as a third string QB who only sees garbage time? Does he need to go to a lower class and play? Does he transfer and sit out a year?
I THINK he's better off staying and getting drafted as a project because of his serious NFL attributes - he's 6'6" and has Stafford level arm strength.
Maybe Fields is OK with a red shirt. I have no clue. UGA is also loaded at running back next season even after Chubb and Michel depart.

Just found it on YT @ 1:37 of the 4th Qtr.DB cut him off from the sideline good move on the QB's part
-
I think that's the point. Bucky is dominating the game, but the score doesn't reflect how lopsided it is because of their mistakes.
I'm going to give create to Purdue for being very opportunistic in creating turnovers. Without those turnovers, UW wins by a lot. Yeah, it was wet and crappy out, but you still gotta protect the ball. Purdue had a lot to do with that.
Brohm is the coaching hire of the year, and Wilcox is right behind him.

I could certainly see him transferring, just transferring to Michigan makes zero sense, unless, like I said, Harbaugh makes him some promises re: Peters and McCaffrey

Boise really took it to SDSU last night.

I'd be kinda shocked if Fields doesn't sign with UGA. It's his home-town team for him- and he de-committed from Penn State and took his time to commit to another school. Not like he was playing flip a commit like lot of these other kids do.
I think he could maybe get drafted- but it's a gamble. He's really only played what- 10 games as a true Frosh? I'm with you on his NFL ability- that kid can throw the football like few can. Maybe his best bet is to go to FCS and start right away in 2018, put up huge numbers and then declare for the NFL. It's a very unique situation Georgia has at the QB position right now. Fromm just has operates at such a high level for a true Frosh- he's just got a great feel for the game. Eason basically just got Wally Pipped.
-
So 4 teams in the top 10 go down this week alone to unrankeds.
#2 Clemson loses to an unranked Syracuse team.
#5 Washington loses to an unranked Arizona State team.
#8 Washington State loses to an unranked Cal team.
#10 Auburn loses to an unranked LSU team.
Not a good week to be top 10 when 40% lose games to unranked teams.
-
It's a good week to be part of the 60% that didn't.
-

Who the hell knows what's going on with Peters? Absolutely shocking to me that he can't get on the field with the way O'Korn performed against MSU and then in the first half against IU.
Harbaugh has basically recruited 5 QB's since he's been at Michigan. Courted Jake Rudock to transfer- I'd say that worked out pretty well- Rudock was a damn fine college QB. Courted O'Korn to transfer- I'd say that reclamation project pretty much hasn't gone as planned. He signed Zach Gentry- who was moved to TE and that looks like it's working out pretty well- but as a QB it's a bust. And then he signed Peters and McCaffrey. Peters can't get on the field as a RS Frosh over O'Korn for some inexplicable reason- and McCaffrey showed up at about 6'5, 190 pounds max. He's a beanpole that looks like he's never seen a weight room. Physically McCaffrey is at least a year away- he needs to add like 25 pounds before he can even think of playing and taking those kind of hits.
O'Korn is gone after this year, this is Speight's 2nd major injury in college in back to back years- and he had 2 major injuries in high school to his throwing shoulder which caused him to miss 2 years of high school ball- I think he might be done playing football to be honest. 2018 that job will be wiiiiide open.
-
I imagine if he had a decent QB on the roster, he'd be playing.
Everyone wanted O'Korn instead of Speight. You got your wish, now you want O'Korn benched.
What happens when Peters and McCaffrey wind up being worse than O'Korn? Start playing walk ons? Former HS QBs? Mascots and cheerleaders?
It's pretty clear in hindsight that Speight gave them the best chance to win, and I'd have to imagine that O'Korn, right now, is better than either of the younglings at this stage of their careers.

Well McCaffrey just isn't physically ready to play. He'd get broken in half taking some of the hits that O'Korn/Speight have taken.
O'Korn isn't throwing pick 6's in spades like Speight- but he's not completing any deep balls like Speight had shown he was consistently capable of doing. Crazy as it sounds- I still think I like O'Korn better than Speight. Speight has a pretty good deep ball- but that's about all he has. He was throwing picks at an alarming rate- and not just picks but pick 6's. He had 4 pick 6's in his last 6 games. Speight was actually losing his team games.
Honestly- O'Korn and Speight both stink. O'Korn has pretty good physical talent- just nothing upstairs. Speight doesn't have the physical talent AND he doesn't have it upstairs. That's an even worse combination. After Penn State takes them to the woodshed next week- I think it's time to see what they have in Peters.
