Well there I go moving up Iowa and Wisconsin and they both lose.
1. (1) Michigan: Bye week. Unquestionably here for now.
2. (4) Ohio State: Bye week. Nebraska has been improving and this might be a bigger test of progress over the bye week than many think.
3. (5) Michigan State: Beat a Purdue team that Ohio State failed come close against. Actually was pretty tempted to put them #2, but earlier loses ding just enough for the moment.
4. (7) Penn State: Better win that it will probably be seen as. Probably out of east race, but still a bit of hope.
5. (8) Northwestern: This team has been all over the place, but in true Northwestern fashion is challenging in the Big Ten after a disappointing first month.
6. (2) Wisconsin: Iowa win still counts for a lot. This is a team that has definitely disappointed this year though.
7. (3) Iowa: No shame is losing to Penn State.
8. (6) Purdue: Has played very well much of season, but is still not even guarenteed to make a bowl.
9. (9) Nebraska: Coming along. If had pulled out one or two earlier in year would actually think bowl eligible would be likely now.
10. (10) Maryland: Beat Illinois convincingly.
11. (12) Minnesota: A much needed win.
12. (11) Indiana: Now bowl eligibility looking tougher.
13. (13) Illinois: Seems likely to stay around here.
14. (14) Rutgers: Winning a conference game now highly unlikely.

1. Michigan: Good ole rock
2. PSU: I guess, maybe? OSU, MSU losses required some flukes
3. Iowa: Good effort on the road
4. OSU: On upset alert again this week
5. MSU: The legend of Rocky begins
6. NW: First place!
7. Wisconsin: Hard team to place
8. Purdue: Still a quality team
9. Maryland: Good Maryland this week
10. Nebraska: Arrow pointing up
11. Minnesota: Might get bowl eligible
12. Indiana: Tough loss
13. Illinois: Nope
14. Rutgers: Nope

Last week in parenthesis...
- MICHIGAN (1) - IDLE
- PENN STATE (4) - McSorley had enough on Saturday but he needs to carry this team to have a prayer in AA, and he doesn't look there right now
- IOWA (2) - they look so good dominating inferior teams, but 0-2 now in big games
- OHIO STATE (3) - IDLE
- MICHIGAN STATE (6) - planning on dropping them again once they lose at Maryland, followed by presumably a win over Ohio State
- NORTHWESTERN (11) - who knows anymore
- PURDUE (5) - those fearful of a hangover were warranted, only MSU blunders kept them in it, Purdue looked like they were sleepwalking
- WISCONSIN (7) - don't think it would have mattered if Hornibrook had played
- MARYLAND (8) - big test for this run game against Michigan State's run defense this week
- NEBRASKA (10) - it was just Bethune-Cookman, but I think that was probably still fun for those kids
- MINNESOTA (12) - just when you were ready to bury them
- INDIANA (9) - beware the Friday night road games
- ILLINOIS (13) - ick
- RUTGERS (14) - IDLE
-
1) Michigan.
2) Ohio State: shaping up to be a pretty big game after Thanksgiving.
3) Penn State: wins matter.
4) Iowa: still likely the winner in the west: November is the time to prove it.
5) Michigan State: dangerous, but not top-level good.
6) Maryland: winning the ones they should.
7) Northwestern: because wins matter, I guess? Good win against Wisconsin, but this is still the weakest 1-loss Big Ten team in a while (this late in the season).
8) Wisconsin: just too dinged up. Probably overdue for this kind of season.
9) Purdue: dangerous (just ask Ohio State), and probably still improving.
10) Nebraska: finding their groove?
11) Minnesota: tallest midget.
12) Indiana: early promise evaporating into a reminder that this is Indiana.
13) Illinois.
14) Rutgers.

It was 13. The teams I moved up all won. And until OSU wins again or the teams above them lose then yes they will continue to drop.
-
Just because OSU is not very good, that doesn't mean that all of these other teams are better.
The whole conference is kind of a mess.

Results posted, votes through @LetsGoPeay (https://www.cfb51.com/index.php?action=profile;u=7) (16 voters).
There was a massive amount of movement this week:
- Penn State was up two, passing Wisconsin and Iowa.
- Iowa was down one, passed by Penn State.
- Michigan State was up two, passing Purdue and Wisconsin.
- Northwestern was up two, passing Purdue and Wisconsin.
- Wisconsin was down three, passed by Penn State, Michigan State, and Northwestern.
- Purdue was down two, passed by Michigan State and Northwestern.
- Nebraska was up one, passing Indiana.
- Minnesota was up one, passing Indiana.
- Indiana was down two, passed by Nebraska and Minnesota.
Non-contiguous votes:
- Ohio State is a weird one. They have two votes each for #4 and #5 so their 11 votes for #2 and their vote for #7 are non-contiguous.
- @LittlePig voted PSU #6, nobody else had them lower than #4.
- @TyphonInc and LetsGoPeay voted Wisconsin #4, nobody else had them higher than #6.
- Ty and @SFBadger96 (https://www.cfb51.com/index.php?action=profile;u=51) voted Maryland #6, nobody else had them higher than #9.
We all agree that Michigan is #1 and that Rutgers is #14. Other than that, at least half of us agree:
- That Ohio State is #2 (11 of 16)
- That Penn State is #3 (10 of 16)
- That Wisconsin is #8 (8 of 16)
- That Maryland is #9 (12 of 16)
- That Nebraska is #10 (9 of 16)
- That Minnesota is #11 (9 of 16)
- That Indiana is #12 (8 of 16)
- That Illinois is #13 (13 of 16)
There is no consensus at all for #4 - #7.
#12 Indiana is off this week and #6 Northwestern has an OOC game against Notre Dame. The other 12 B1G teams have B1G games this weekend:
- #3 Penn State at #1 Michigan
- #10 Nebraska at #2 Ohio State
- #4 Iowa at #8 Purdue
- #5 Michigan State at #9 Maryland
- #14 Rutgers at #7 Wisconsin
- #11 Minnesota at #13 Illinois
PSU/M seems like a pretty obvious choice for "Game of the Week", but Iowa/Purdue actually has more immediate impact on the race for Indy. Minnesota desperately needs a win this weekend to keep their bowl hopes alive but they haven't won on the road all year so their game at Illinois could be interesting.
PSU/M:
Penn State would be mathematically eliminated with a loss. A Penn State win also helps MSU's chances.
UNL/tOSU:
Interesting game. Nebraska has been trending up and Ohio State looked listless last time out but if the Buckeyes come out the way they did after the Iowa loss last year, this could be bad news for Scott Frost's program.
Iowa/Purdue:
The loser is all but eliminated in the B1G-W race. The winner will still need help.
MSU/UMD:
Maryland hasn't played a competitive B1G game all year (three blowout wins over bad teams, two blowout losses to good teams) maybe this will be the week?
RU/UW:
This should be a great opportunity for Wisconsin to get back on track.
MN/IL:
Probably a bowl elimination game for the Gophers.

I have posted about this the past few weeks, but November 10th is really shaping up to be a great day for viewing B1G football because nearly all of the matchups should be good. All 14 B1G teams play conference games that day. One is #1 Michigan at #14 Rutgers which is, theoretically, the second worst possible matchup (only RU at M would be worse) but the other six games are all between teams within four spots in the current rankings:
- #1 Michigan at #14 Rutgers
- #2 Ohio State at #5 Michigan State
- #7 Wisconsin at #3 Penn State
- #6 Northwestern at #4 Iowa
- #8 Purdue at #11 Minnesota
- #9 Maryland at #12 Indiana
- #13 Illinois at #10 Nebraska
Other than M/RU, I see all of those as games that could realistically go either way.
-
On the right day, Rutgers could maybe beat Mich again.
-
hey, this is great.
A week after Scott Frost gets blown out in the Shoe, there's a winnable game on the schedule!

He should guarantee a victory in his Monday morning presser.

Impossible. The Big Ten has been a jumble of crap this year. I don't want to place my Gophers anywhere (it would be near the bottom). I think that Indy is probably the better team overall....despite our win last week. And Nebraska has been a trainwreak and destroyed us. Purdue making OSU look like clowns? There's no good way to rank these teams.
