Yeah with then head coach Kalen DeBoer.  But that's not why I'm pulling against them.  I just view them as a wimpy PAC-NW Johnny-come-lately that doesn't deserve to be on the same field with the marquee programs.  Similar to why I always root against Oregon.

Actually, Washington has a pretty damn strong history if you look at it.

#18 or so in all-time winning %.

Meh.  Wimpy PAC-NW from a wimpy surf-boy conference.  Unimpressive.

Yeah, traditionally Washington is the #2 team in the Pac-10 (wins, winning percentage, and conference championships), close with #3 UCLA.

I suspect having to go on the road to Nebraska will be hard on the Huskies, so I think Nebraska takes this one. I doubt it will be easy.

Washington is 4-3 and just wrapped up their bye week. Here are some notes from what head coach Jedd Fisch had to say at his Monday press conference regarding the bye week and their upcoming game against Nebraska this Saturday, Halloween night...

Said that he won't name a starter at QB until gametime and won't answer any questions about the quarterbacks.

Said he had a lot of respect for Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule and said this will be a tough game on Saturday.

On Nebraska's third down defense, Fisch said that the Cornhuskers do a great job of winning on first and second down and forcing teams into 3rd-and-long situations. Added that he hadn't seen as many 3rd-and-6 or more on a video prep as he did when he was studying film on Nebraska.
Asked about the running backs room, Trey Cooley is back and practiced fully on Sunday and that they will get Jayden Limar back to practice and "see how that goes". Asked about Ansu Sanoe, he said he's still out with a foot issue.

On the defensive line room, Fisch said that they are expecting DeSean Watts and Kai McClendon back for this week's game and that Ramzak Fruean will be a gametime decision.

Was asked if he could play two quarterbacks and Fisch discussed his history with playing two quarterbacks including when he was at Florida and in his first year at Washington.

Nebraska looks better than their record, to me, two close losses.  They could almost win out I think and finish 9-3.

If I'm right and they finish 9-3, they'd get a decent bowl game, some rankings around 10-15 or so, and possibly 10-3.  Of course with a decent bowl game usually comes ... a decent opponent, but these days with opt outs etc...

There best "wins" are the two close losses...

they are riding a thirty-some odd losing streak against ranked teams.

Not top ten teams, ranked teams.

UCF beat #2 last week, maybe give their coach a call?

obviously, MUCH easier to pull those upsets at UCF than UNL

that coach had plenty of chances at UNL

Better cut the pizza into 6 slices. I'm not hungry enough to eat 8.

Washington went from a preseason top 20 to a preseason top 20 who was playing below their hype to just plain bad as this season has gone along. I don't think UW was overrated; the Huskies had the momentum to build on last season's 9-4 run, however, this season's problems started in the offseason, when starting QB Demond Williams entered the transfer portal, only to return after some convincing by Coach Fisch. That drama seems to have taken Williams out of sync and goodwill with his offense, which he never got going. Fisch himself could've save the situation, and now Williams is riding the bench. For all of Fisch's known ability to generate better results that what he has to work with, he seems to have his a wall with this season's Washington squad.
