Title: Visiting our New Hoosier Overlords: Week 7 Thread
Post by: MaximumSam on October 16, 2026, 06:41:18 PM
Getting some great Ohio weather - it was 88 on Tuesday, it was 71 when I woke up today, and it is currently 53 degrees and dropping. Luckily, no Friday Night Lights for me tonight. Westerville North visits Worthington Kilbourne, who will probably smash them, but I don't have to go because my daughter is in Indianapolis for a band competition. Pickup time: 3 am. Fantastic.

Schedule:

Considering I'll probably be tanked by the third quarter of the OSU game, no chance I'm witnessing that Nebraska game unless I fall asleep at 6 and wake back up.

Boiler D (and special teams) has done a good job of creating turnovers.

Can't stop diddly otherwise.

I was in Salem on Tuesday.   It was very busy. I cant believe what it will be like on a weekend.
Have fun.  Town totally sells out on its rep.   I grossly underestimated the size of the contingent which revels in this activity.

Another game.  Another absolute screw job by the refs against Purdue.

Might be a simmer something on the stovetop kinda day. Apple cider syrup and maybe some chunk of meat. Kroger had chuck roast on sale the other day, maybe they still have some.

traveling from Bar Harbor, ME to Salem, MA today - not much football

will stop to eat some oysters and lobster somewhere along the way - maybe A1 Diner in Gardiner, or Becky's Diner in Portland, or Maine Diner in Wells, or Bob's Clam Hut in Kittery

probably get into the Holiday Inn in Salem late, but hopefully not late for the Husker kickoff at midnight - "witching time of night"

Have to agree with you.  And a a critical moment in the game.   Very frustrating to see refs change a big outcome with a CLEARLY incorrect call.

Just as I garner confidence in Purdue, of course they had to lose.

This seems to happen fairly often, a team comes out of the gate like UCLA looking really solid and then they get upset by a nobody, or lose to a somebody they should beat if they're decent.  One trait of mediocre teams I find is inconsistency, they can look good and then bad the next week.

I'm encouraged by Nebraska, a team I lean to liking, they seem pretty solid.  Maybe they will disappoint.  Maybe not.

I'll be disappointed if the Huskers don't win tonight at Oregon vs a 2nd string QB

but, I won't be surprised either way

Raiola might just be the most overrated QB recruit in history.

There's also that guy in Ann Arbor.
