Well, here we are. Season XX of this crazy prediction game. For those of you just tuning in, here are the ruled-out rules you need to know:
1. Each week during the college football season, I will ask you to predict the final value of a measured statistic during a Big Ten conference football game.
2. You guess what you think the final value of that statistic will be at the end of the game.
3. The person who guess closest to the correct value wins the week.
4. The lowest overall score at the end of the season is the Resident Genius.
That simple.
Scoring goes as follows:
- The guesses well be sorted into order based on the absolute difference between the guess and the actual value. *
*I reserve the right to ask a question where direction matters, but this will be specified at the time of asking. Absolute value is the default unless and until specifically called out otherwise
- Points are awarded based on the ordinal rank of each entry. Example: 3rd place gets 3 points, 4th gets 4, etc.
-Outright winners of each week will receive a score of -5.
- Ties are scored by giving all involved in the tie the lowest ordinal value of the tie entries. Example: a 3 way tie for 4th sees all tied entries getting a score of 4. The next entry in order will get 6 points. If there is a tie for the win, all involved in the tie get a score of 1.
- Please call out any tabulation errors. I'm pretty decent at using a slide rule, sundial, and an abacus, but mistakes happen.
- All rule interpretation questions are decided by me.
- All decisions are final.
We start the 20th edition of this crazy game with a stop in Ann Arbor. Kyle Wittingham is now the coach of the Michigan Wolverines, to clean up the mess from Sherrod Moore's tenure. Nothing screams Michigan football than beating up on a MAC schlub, which they will be doing Saturday night.
Q: How many yards of offense will the Michigan Wolverines generate vs. Central Western Michigan?
Deadline is Saturday, September 5 at 6:30 PM EDT. Good hunting.

Perhaps, but for Michigan fans, Western's very presence in the MAC makes them, by definition, a schlub.

Somebody is holding A-I analytical preview seances 😍 . I'll have to put on my pointy little hat,go sit in the corner with a cold Yuengling and start crunching numbers. Oh and I'll need a coin for the flip
About the only thing favoring the Broncos are they are defending MAC Champions. Once with a comfortable lead when does "M" pull their starters? You can run the score up but then KW risks injuries, hmmm
