Very into this hire. Have to imagine Kirk told him he'd retire after this year, and he'd prefer the certainty

MSU is going to win sooner than people might think I look for them to be very solid next season
-
MSU is either really good or really bad. Late Dantonio is really the only time we've ever just been mid

Former UM QB, and current Alabama QB coach, former OC, Nick Sheridan coming as OC

solid hire imo.
-
Kept our QB, made some great coaching staff hires, rest of the team is transferring out. Hopefully Fitz can still play LB

Read on the Spartan Board comparing Whittingham and Fitzgerald hirings
Kyle Whittingham has an all time win % at utah of .668 or .070 better than Utah is historically. He's 4th all time in win % at Utah (min 25 games coached).
Pat Fitzgerald has an all time win % at Northwestern of .521 or .080 better than Northwestern is historically. He's 6th all time in win % at northwestern.
"They are basically the same hire, but one is 66 and the other is 51"
More from the Spartan Board:
I’m not minimizing Whittingham’s career, he’s a good coach, but also it’s not as glossy as some are making it out to be. They’ve only been P4/P5 since 2010. And only won twice PAC II right before it split up in 2021, and 2022.
Both years they ended up 10-4, In 21, they lost to BYU, Hoke’s San Diego St, Jonathan Smith’s Oregon State and OSU in the Rose Bowl.
In 22 they lost to Florida, UCLA, Oregon, and Penn State in the Rose Bowl. 3 of those are programs he’s going go be playing regularly again at Michigan.
Whittingham’s team haven’t won a bowl game since 2017. They are 0-5.
His best year at Utah since joining the P4/P5 level was 2019. They went 11-3 with losses to unranked USC, Oregon in PXII champ game, and unranked Texas in the Alamo Bowl. Their only win against a ranked opponent that year was over No. 17 Arizona State (Herm Edwards team) early in the conference season. ASU finished un-ranked.
His average conference record since joining the P5/P4 is only @ 5-4 in 15 seasons.

I don't know who is treating this as some glossy record or home run hire.
Seems instead that people recognize this as what it is... A solid, proven coach, intended to right the ship and provide stability and normalcy after weirdo cheating Jim and incompetent horny Sherrone.
I expect him to not coach more than 5 years or so, make the playoffs 2-3 or maybe even 4 times based on overall talent and solid coaching--and that it's 12 teams so it's not that hard when you're a helmet.
IMHO the hire is what they needed, even if it's not spectacular nor is it a long term solution.

Yes, even Mdot and I can agree on that
-
If you take away the three Conner Stallions seasons, Moore is actually the best HC that they've had since Carr.

people are, not the majority of delusional M men

Seems like we lost a bunch of dudes. Some I'd have rather kept, some I forgot were still on the roster. And then we added a bunch of dudes. Some look pretty good, others seem very much like the forgettable guys we lost.
Guess it's a "grass is greener" thing...both ways

Moneyis
green.

It's the lure of easy money, it's got a very strong appeal

With Aidan Chiles transferring to Northwestern, Katin Houser to Illinois, and Noah Kim getting a 7th year of eligibility somehow at EMU, MSU will HOST three former MSU QBs next year in Spartan Stadium
