Title: Website Issues
Post by: Drew4UTk on November 01, 2025, 02:42:01 PM
... here, on the count I figure nobody here leaves here much.

the site has been wonky this past week.  we've been stiff arming china and russia like we're freakin' Walter Peyton's, and barely hanging on.

I implemented a few measures to stop it.  i rolled it out less than an hour ago.  you may have seen the site blinky blink a few times.

part of it, and the reason i share this here, is i'm geo-blocking whole countries... right now it's india, china, russia, and turkey.  if this impacts anyone here, let me know and i'll adjust it to allow for the few that it may impact.  i mean, what interest does someone in freakin' china or turkey have in CFB?

anyway... let me know if there are any issues.

i just added Singapore and Vietnam.  Brazil may be next... it's amazing to see where the proxy takes them when they can't get in from their native ISPs.

Thanks Drew. I can't tell you how many thousands I've turned away at the door. PIA.

The geo IP os one measure.  I've got another layer, too, but don't need to say it where folks can see it.

IF we can control all the bots in this way and shove through the Chinese, then registration may be able to be wide open for the first time.

Sorry this is the nonsense that needs to be done in order to keep us arguing college football minds sane.

Certainly grateful for keeping this still going.
