Proposed rule: One jersey per school.i would also think it would be interesting if only photos of players that will play in this next season for teams. eliminating the same photos that get used every year.
i would also think it would be interesting if only photos of players that will play in this next season for teams. eliminating the same photos that get used every year.I was thinking the same thing, actually.
not sure that would work but it would be more interesting
Pictures of a bunch of people nobody knows? That doesn't sound very interesting to me.you are right
Meh. I know your school's legends. I'm never going to remember your school's 2025 place kicker.
Lulz. There's no such thing as the Big Ten and even if there were, this hasn't been a "Big Ten board" for decades. Don't be so sensitive. People can have opinions that differ from yoursi agree
let me have mine and I will let you have yours?Sure thing, boss. I mean, I'm not the one that was trying to gatekeep the "Big Ten board" ya know?
But seeing guys you don't know but will see when the teams are playing this year to me is interesting and I can then go to the teams roster and look them up and learn more about the players from that team(https://i.imgur.com/PrkEGdp.png)
i agreeEhh, he was an unanimous All-American and the first defensive player to be named SEC Player of the Year since 1968. 4th pick in the draft.
let me have mine and I will let you have yours?
Again Reggie White great NFL player, nobody remembers him from college other than those really tight to UT but yes he was a great NFL'er, thanks for the memory lane photo.
Florida's best-ever #90 was a draft bust. But great in college!I remember him freak athlete, glad things didn't work out with the squeelers. To bad he couldn't catch on somewhere else though - I read his bio.He got his degree and was headed to a business meeting in WTC on 9/11 and left with others when the 1st plane hit.

No number 86 for Wisconsin this season (yet?).That's okay, you can post a famous one from past teams. Or your favorite. You're among friends here.

#73 is a walk-on OL this season, so I give you former C Dallas Lewallen.OK we'll take him, can't have enough big Uglies as far as I'm concerned.
One of my favorite stories is of him fishing during the draft in which the Browns made him their first pick. He chose to spend the day with his family instead of seaking the limelight. He was hoping the Browns couldn't find him off the grid
There is no #69 for Wisconsin this season, and nobody of prominence has ever worn it.Never stopped FF

Stanton Ramil. Big time recruit, held off Auburn, has struggled to stay healthyAlthough was just announced as one of the 3 MSU reps at Media Day, so I think everyone is aware of how talented he is if he stays healthy. Obviously a frighteningly low bar, but probably the best NFL OL prospect MSU has had in a decade.
We don't do make up days here. :96:OSU is used to the conference making accommodations
Most recent number 54, LB Jordan Turner. He was really good for MSU last year, I actually thought he'd get drafted

#42 for the Badgers this year is RS Soph Tyler Jansey, who was moved to FB from ILB this year.
By request, here is TJ Watt - who just signed the highest non-QB contract in NFL history. 3 years, $123 million.

hand me down from the Tyler Rose???He's my prototype for the oversized shoulder pads. But I think we have to wait five more days.
Thread title doesn't say only college jerseys can be noted.I mean, this is true, but the CFB in the website name stands for college football and, in the 15 or 20 years of history of posts on this annual thread, it's always been college football jersey numbers.
Afroman will LOVE it
My personal favorite.

Suffered a career ending hip injury on the play, but he'll never pay for a drink in East Lansing for the rest of his lifeIf this is the punt block TD return to end the game, I was going to make a thread about it. Is there any other play that compares in terms of unlikelihood/timing? It was like getting the 1 card you needed in a 6-deck shuffle, but more like a million deck shuffle.

Maybe the Cal-Stanford play, but that's made weirder by the band aspect of it. Miami had a very similar play against Duke, that nobody remembers
I feel like Rocket Ismail's punt return TD that never was would have been similar. But he was an obvious threat and the fact CU punted to him was a bad idea. A punt block returned for TD is not something you ever anticipate.
Hell, Florida had a very similar game under Muschamp, vs ULL, but that was a tie game if I recall correctly. It didn't impossibly win the game while behind, but it was a last-play punt block TD.

Baylor was on an 8-game losing streak, then brand new head coach Kevin Steele had yet to win a game, and the Bears had the ball deep in UNLV territory, with a first down, up by 3, and with no Rebel timeouts remaining. Rather than kneel the ball and kill the clock, Steele decided he wanted to instill some toughness into the team and run the ball, trying for another TD.

Although I often forget the date, I never forget the day: 10/15/2005 (https://www.espn.com/blog/statsinfo/post/_/id/110482/why-oct-15-2005-was-the-wildest-day-in-college-football-this-century) brought the Bush Push, Michigan's last-second win over Penn State, several other big results, and Wisconsin beating Minnesota in Minneapolis, scoring 21 in the 4th quarter to overcome a 10-point margin, but it all came down to the final 17 seconds. The Badgers pulled to within 3 with 2:10 remaining, but the Gophers recovered the onside kick inside their own 10. On a day that Minnesota had over 400 yards rushing and their last drive had lasted more than 8 minutes, all Minnesota needed was a first down, but they could only get 9 yards, and punted with 17 ticks to go. Punter muffed the snap, Casillas blocked the punt, and the Badgers recovered in the end zone for the win.

They were up 7-3 with 29 seconds left when Tremaine Mack blocked a punt and Miami returned it for a TD. Absolute gut punch. One of the all time most heartbreaking losses as a fan. To make it worse WVU was 7-0 and ranked in the top 10 when it happened. It’s now simply remembered as “The Blocked Punt Game.”

Great game.
Gdowski's magical seasonIdk how you lose twice with that output at QB. I'm going to blame the defense.
71-136 passing for 1,326 yards
19 passing touchdowns (then the second-most in school history, currently tied for eighth).
Just two interceptions. His interception percentage of 1.47 broke Turner Gill's school record.
117 carries for 925 yards, the most by a NU quarterback (breaking Steve Taylor's record from the previous season by 99 yards).
7.91 yards per carry, which broke Mike Rozier's school record from his 1983 Heisman season.
13 rushing touchdowns, tying Taylor's 1988 school record).
Just 75 yards shy of becoming the first Cornhusker quarterback to throw and rush for 1,000 yards in a season.
Would have set an NCAA record for QB rating (177.3) but didn't meet the minimum number of attempts.
The Huskers went 10-2, finished as Big Eight runner-up and finished 11th in the AP poll. Gdowski was the Big Eight Offensive Player of the Year, an Academic All-American and a finalist for the Davey O'Brien Award.

Here's a sampling of the records Ameer Abdullah holds:He also refused to let UNL lose to McNeese State, by sheer will of force.
Rushing: First in attempts (813), second in career yards (4,588) and 100-yard games (24), as well as the fourth- and sixth-most rushing yards in a season.
Receiving: Most career TD receptions by a running back (7).
All-purpose yards: Most in a game (341 vs Rutgers in 2014), most in a career (7,186), and the second-, fourth- and eighth-best seasons in school history. Ameer holds the career record by 1,600 yards over Johnny Rodgers. He has the second-most all-purpose yards in Big Ten history.
Kickoff returns: Tied for the longest return (100 yards), most return yards in a game (211), fourth-best single season, and third most in a career.
Scoring: Tied for second with 22 touchdowns scored in a season. Seventh all-time in scoring, and third among non-kickers.

EDGE TJ Guy switched to his new # 4 - to commemorate his 4-0 record against the softies to the south.Tressel was 9-1 vs the walvies. That's 17-2 up until covid year that booger backed out of after losing to Indiana/UW/Spartans/PSU and barely edging Rutgers. Is it Michigan math or meth makes you shamsters forgetful???
kind of crazy that he's almost forgotten already now, but one of the greatest DBs to ever play at Michigan.Jackson???
OSU's recent decade-ish run of WR dominance started off with him methinks.Devin Smith a little before, shame he ended up ripping both knees. Both were on the '14 team that took the hardware, even Spencer was their 3rd WR, dude was good who thru passes along blocks - it's the little things that count
Jackson???yup. Marlin Jackson was one of the greatest DBs to ever wear the Maize n Blue. was projected to be a top 10 NFL pick, but then he had off-field issue where he beat the absolute shit out of some drunk guy at a bar and he also had a knee injury issue wish caused him to slip to the end of the 1st round.

(https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/X3sAAOSw0Kdm7F9z/s-l1200.jpg)I don't think people realize how great Edwards was. He PRODUCED.
(https://i.imgur.com/SD9joHS.png)That dude is wide enough to support a two-digit roster number...
I don't think people realize how great Edwards was. He PRODUCED.Well I mean Anthony Carter averaged almost 20 yards a catch for his career, had 33 TD receptions, 1 rushing TD, and 2 return TD's. Dude was a highlight reel in an era where WRs were allowed to be mugged and no one threw the ball around the lot.
He was so good that UM people should replace Anthony Carter with Edwards when 'best WR' ideas pop in their heads. And somehow I think Desmond Howard is downgraded because he wasn't a great WR in the NFL, just a great returner.
There's an argument that he's the best #1to this day he might be the fastest/quickest human being I've ever seen on a football field.
No 1,000 yard seasons. 'Only' 31 career TDs. But was almost always the best player on the field.
Too fast AND quick, and bigger than you think he was.
Well I mean Anthony Carter averaged almost 20 yards a catch for his career, had 33 TD receptions, 1 rushing TD, and 2 return TD's. Dude was a highlight reel in an era where WRs were allowed to be mugged and no one threw the ball around the lot.Part of why I made the comment of Edwards supplanting Carter is that I think we all tend to do that. Once a recent guy reaches a certain level of greatness, he sort of replaces the old-school great. He's more recent and thus more relevant and in more people's purviews. Older generations tend to leave the public discourse and eventually move on, while the younger generations are more populous, plugged-in, and out there.
As far as pure WR goes though, you're probably right. Edwards was 6'3 ish and 210 pounds- big physical and fast- just a phenomenal talent. Edwards is a pretty giant douchebag though and lot of Michigan fans don't really like him. And he also wasted his talent in the NFL- he had a really good NFL career- not a great one like his talent suggests he should've had.
Edwards had HOF talent- he was however a lazy alcoholic egomaniac douchebag who was more concerned with being a celebrity and partying than he was with being a great football player. If he worked half as hard at football as he did partying and trying to hit on Rihanna and beat up LeBron James' friends at night clubs he'd have been one of the greats in the NFL.
You're also right about Desmond Howard, he gets downgraded too much because well he was a major flop as a WR in the NFL.
