QB Ratings

The Eli Holstein love really fell off a cliff
-
So, there's a linear trend/correlation between how well a QB plays and how good an offense is?
Les Miles is shocked.
-
So Texas A&M should consider hiring Minnesota's OC

Illinois announces death of assistant coach Dana Dimel at 62 (https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/illinois-announces-death-of-assistant-coach-dana-dimel-at-62/ar-AA1vcvq2?ocid=msedgntp&pc=DCTS&cvid=4b26cb2cec864a26886f661850aed873&ei=12)

Him and Bob Stoops as Bill Snyder's coordinators in the mid 90s really got that KSU program rolling. He did a pretty good job maintaining what Tiller did at Wyoming, before failing at Houston.
Didn't realize he had resurfaced as the HC at UTEP the past 6 years after Bill Snyder brought him back as his OC agains for his second run. Did a pretty damn good job again

I appreciate that the QB chart is accurate. Michigan's QB situation was so bad, it doesn't appear on the chart at all.

None of them threw enough passes to qualify for QBR

That can't be the reason.. Zeon Chris had 67 less attempts than Warren and is still on the chart.
Castellanos 36 less.

Texas A&M should see if they can get Haynes King in the transfer portal, he might really be something special if he were in the maroon and white...

Maybe not enough total snaps? if you go to QBR, Michigan does not have a qualified player. Neither does Iowa

You can't calculate it yourself, because ESPN doesn't share the formula. But, if you just average the weeks where they qualified for the individual week, and weigh them equally (which is obviously wrong)
Warren 54.2
Orji 43.6
Tuttle 36.4
I can't pull PFF grades without a subscription, but the line on the right is Warren, the line on the left is Orji, and Tuttle would not be on the chart

Serious question in response to a funny post.
Has that happened yet in the free form transfer portal era? Surely someone's gone back to their first love?

In basketball it has. Maryland got a guy back after he played at Georgetown, and Memphis has a kid this year who was a 5* recruit for them, was disappointing, went to 2 other schools over the past 3 years, and then circled back

May be per game or something. Florida doesn't have anyone that I see.

He had big hype coming in. As I recall, he got hurt early in the season right after he was named the starter. He played 1-2 games, and wasn’t very good in either one.
I think this was 2021. Next year he was named the starter again, i think he got hurt early again, but didn’t miss the whole season, but that was a super bad year and literally everyone sucked. Maybe he needed a new set of coaches, and maybe he needed time to mature. Whatever the reason, it just didn’t work out here for him with us.
BTW, I know you were being facetious.

Bill Belichick to UNC?
-
Meh.
HC Mahomes would bring in more talent based on name recognition.
Will probably be a low-offense, strong defense good/not great program.

Frost, then Rodriguez. WTF?

This was a big money donor hire by guys who still have a man crush on Rich Rod. The word leaking out of Morgantown was they promised a much bigger NIL commitment if their guy was brought in. So, we’ll see. I don’t hate it but don’t love it. It was clearly fueled by emotion and nostalgia but there are some practical reasons why it has a chance to work.
I’m anxious to see the contract details but the expectation is a relatively cost effective base with lots of incentives. I’ll say this. I’ll take my chances on Rod at say, $3.5 million a year, over Barry Odom at $6 million a year any day. It makes for a good story anyway. It’s a shame it came literally 5 minutes after the Belichick hire was announced.

great team, stoopid talent
more deserving or not, a team not named Nebraska wasn't going to stand up to the Canes in that Rose Bowl
