SEC wants them in the playoffs.

Sure looks that way. Was the most one sided call by the refs since Saban retired

I can't figure out why they have a booth ref to explain why the refs on the field never get anything wrong. Seems a waste of time.

What I want to know is why did they call defensive holding on a RUSHING play?  Is it because it was the QB rushing? He was already beyond the LOS, so he wasn't looking to pass.

Every questionabl0pe call benefitted Dawgs. If  they could review a player getting off the field late after the play why can't you review a ( phantom) facemask  call?

It turned into a rushing play because we held their receiver coming off the line.  Otherwise Beck would have just thrown for the TD instead of run for it.

We are above average. Yes the Refs did what Smart wanted but we assisted.

It's like we were trying to lose.

I don't think the WR was held until QB tucked it and ran.  Could have called Wide receiver for holding.

They had a lot of choke holds on our D linemen all night

It reminded me a lot of the Bama games with Saban. Critical bad calls when GA needed them. Kirby may be the new Saban.

I don't think the average fan realizes the ability of refs to turn a game with just a couple of key calls or no-calls.

There were two fumbles by uga that were given back.

The drop by squirrel want a drop- it was ripped after he was clearly down.  Atop that, the defender face masked him plain as day and it wasn't called.

That said- none of that should have mattered.  If we were truly the better team these calls wouldn't have mattered.  We'd have won one way or another.

We're lacking leadership on that team.  There is none.. instead of at least one player raising hell on the sidelines, everyone just stands there like cattle in a chute waiting their turn to get whacked over the skull.  Ive not seen a single player all year drive anything... that team with Dobbs and the LB who was railroaded by allegations I can't recall his name- HE was the last true leader Tennessee had.. the receiver playing at SF right now was at least something... other than that, who has been the team's heartbeat?

Jennings was a Dawg.

Sampson has some Dawg in him, but as you said we have no leadership from the team on the sidelines. I recall as few UT players in the past in 2 different sports having a come to Jesus meeting with a few who were not giving their all

It's too little too late, but the officiating issue has been noticed by people outside Tennessee.   It was blatant.

There's too much money and too much riding on these games and there's no excuse for incompetent officiating we all experienced in Athens.
What is so frustrating is that the SEC shuts down any conversation about it. A coach speaking out about officiating gets huge fines and then silence.
BTW..the head of the officiating crew who called the game in Athens is an Alabama grad and has been  involved in several controversial games and calls.

The LB was AJ (Johnson ?????). That’s all I recall.

Lack of leadership on the field and sideline has been my complaint as well. Like you, I want to see a player on the sideline chewing some butt when they need it. Nico isn’t that guy as “the” QB. He’s too meek for me. He has no fire in his personality.

We also have no difference maker at WR. For all of the talent we supposedly have, there isn’t one that strikes fear in any DC which hurts our running game. As good as Sampson is, he’d be a lot better if defenses weren’t stacking the line to stop him.

Reading a good bit on-line from non-UT fans about the biased officiating and biased talking heads.

Was starting to think it was just me. I guess not.
