Come 'on. least we can do is have a thread for IU when they've gotten this far. Game is sold out. IU laying 7.5
hilarious discussion today about this game when a local Hoosier said to me, what kind of world is this, when if you beat Indiana in football, then that's an impressive win.
only second time Nebraska has traveled to B-town since the 1970s. I went to the '16 game, nice day, sleepy, not very glamorous game that got close late, probably 50% Nebraska fans. that game was not sold out.
-
Looking forward to this one!
-
35% Husker fans caused the sell-out?
-
Indiana usually plasters the OSU pictures on their media guide, so that it looks sold out with home fans due to the abundance of red.

Now they have options, baby!
-
Will the Indiana fans get into the stadium at any point in the first half, or will they just keep drinking in the woods?
-
So, Indiana is the real Big Red?
-
Gonna learn something Saturday
-
All-Time Series: Indiana leads 10-9-3 (2022 last meeting, 35-21 NU)
Fun Fact: Saturday’s game will mark the sixth time in the past eight meetings at least one of the teams has been nationally ranked. It will be the first time that both teams have been ranked in at least one of the national polls entering a Nebraska-Indiana matchup. The Huskers are No. 25 in the Coaches Poll. This will only be the fourth matchup between the two schools as members of the Big Ten.
-
I agree this game probably is not getting enough attention.
Indiana is undefeated and Neb is 5-1 with its only loss to ILL in OT. The winner of this game will probably be #4 in Big Ten Power Rankings. Although some folks might put the Mich-ILL winner over Nebraska if Neb beats Ind.
Either way, it's time to find out which team is for real.

Edge to the Hoosiers since it's at home

yeah the ones in Red

Indiana has one of the more balanced offenses and overall teams this season. A passing attack ranked 10th and a rushing offense ranked 32nd, whose carries are divided by committee. The Hoosiers total defense is ranked 6th nationally.
Of course, these higher productivity rankings take advantage of Indiana’s lighter strength of schedule. The 5 FBS teams they’ve played have a combined record of 12-19. And Indiana’s 3 convincing conference wins are over bottom feeders (UCLA, MD, NW) with a combined B1G record of 1-9.
5-1 Nebraska will clearly be the best competition Indiana has faced.
Given Indiana’s total team balance, what I will find worth watching for is whether one function of the offense or roster can carry the Hoosiers if needed going forward against the more difficult 2nd half of their schedule. For example, if Nebraska shuts down the run can Indiana’s passing game make up for it? Or if the offense goes in the tank can the defense keep it close? Indiana has not yet been challanged this way.

My son and I are going to be part of that sellout tomorrow. Historically, almost every time I've go to a major sporting event the team I'm there to cheer on loses. Of course, I've also chosen very poorly in terms of teams I pull for.
-
Man, the Hoosiers really whooped up on the Huskers in the 40s and 50s. 9-1-1

This Week’s Numbers
1 – Nebraska is the only team in the nation that has not allowed a rushing touchdown in 2024. Dating back to last season, Nebraska has not allowed a rushing TD in 11 of its past 13 games.
4 – Nebraska has committed just four turnovers in six games in 2024. The Huskers' four turnovers are the 11th-fewest in the nation. Nebraska is +6 in turnover margin this season after finishing the 2023 season -17.
20 - Nebraska has won five of its first six games, matching its win total from the 2023 season. Nebraska is one of just 20 teams in the FBS ranks who have matched or exceeded its win total from 2023, including three Big Ten teams (also Indiana, Illinois). Indiana currently leads that group with a +3 win total over 2023.

Corso was a quitter after Doc hung 69 on 'em in Bloomington
Hipp, Huskers run over Hoosers
Indiana was no match for the Nebraska Cornhuskers as NU beat the Hoosiers 69-17. Nebraska gained 613 yards in total offense as the Huskers raised their record to 3-1.
A regional ABC-TV audience and 42,738 watching in the rain at Bloomington, watched as the Huskers scored touchdowns the first four times they had the football. I.M. Hipp, who gained national prominence against Indiana in 1977, scored the first two touchdowns for Nebraska. The NU I-back raced in from nine yards for the first score and in from six, four minutes later.
The game was decided before the first quarter ended with the Huskers holding a demanding 28-0 lead. NU added a second period TD, two in the third quarter and three more in the final stanza, to make the score NU-69, IU-17.
Hipp, the ABC-TV Offensive Player of the Game, gained 123 yards and scored four times for the day. Tim Wurth, a second team I-back, also contributed two touchdowns as he gained 95 yards. Tom Sorley continued his fine passing attack, completing eight for 168 yards.

Aw come on.
It includes all of the Husker highlights. :72:
-
The lopsidedness of the result was shocking.
-
I'm surprised
certainly hadn't penciled in the win, but didn't see this coming
hopefully, the hoosiers are just that damn good
I doubt it but, I'll be rooting for them
-
Nebraska's schedule is about to get real after this too.
-
certainly hadn't penciled in the win, but didn't see this coming
NOBODY did,specially the Husker Boards
-
Nebraska's schedule is about to get real after this too.
Who knows that might be toughest out on the list
-
One of the threads on Badge's 247 Husker board was lambasting Rhule for saying just that "I didn't see this coming" in his post game presser.
Rhule opening statement after Hoosiers roll over Huskers: 'I didn't see this coming' (247sports.com) (https://247sports.com/college/nebraska/board/142/contents/rhule-opening-statement-after-hoosiers-roll-over-huskers-i-didnt-see-this-coming-238257549/?page=1)
-
I saw that too.
-
hah, the fans lambasting Rhule didn't see it coming either
even after a surprising blowout loss, Rhule wins the press conference
-
On the flip side, Nebraska basketball is 3-0 vs the Candy Stripes in 2024, with all three wins by 15 or more points.
