Man Chiles cannot understand that turnovers are badhe's like Davis Warren but with lots of talent...
game seemingly overYeah this has been all Oregon outside of that first drive.
Flying to Wyoming to see parents. Probably won't hunker down all weekend for games. Beartooth highway still open another week or so, will torment my youngest with that drive.I drove that out of Yellowstone on the way to Devil's Tower a few years ago, yikes!

I am up and percolating what would be good food options today. I ain't cooking, it's just me, and I can't be trying to go anywhere while OSU is on. Hmm.Schneider's Donuts for breakfast, Ray Ray's Hog Pit for lunch, Eagles Pizza for dinner.

I'm starting to get vibes that Purdue is going to win today.
Schneider's Donuts for breakfast, Ray Ray's Hog Pit for lunch, Eagles Pizza for dinner. Now that's not a bad trifecta. Haven't had Eagles in forever
Horns off today, I'll be spending most of the day putting up Halloween decorations. Gotta rebuild several of the characters, wind was awful last year and they took a beating.Pics, or it didn’t happen. 😂
But I'm sure I'll catch some foosball here and there.
Good luck to all of your sportsball teams in their endeavors.
Pics, or it didn’t happen. 😂
The blue floodlight on Beetlejuice himself doesn't show up very well in pictures, it looks a lot better in real life, but even so I think this year I'm going with all green footlighting.(https://i.imgur.com/EJiU5rk.png)
Sure! I've posted pics before, I'll pull down one from last year for now. It's Beetlejuice theme and since there's a new movie out this year, I think I'm going to try to add a character.Awesome!

What time is it over there in Ireland? We're 5 hours ahead of ET, 8 ahead of PT. I don't know what time zone I have my profile set to so I don't know what time I sent that, but it is 4 PM in Ireland right now.

I do know I sent that after we got back from a pub and before we went to a pub.
Lol awesome. I remember the pubs in Dublin mostly carrying Guinness and Guinness Extra Cold. On the west side Murphys was more popular - is it still that way?The bartender at the first pub was saying that an American came in and ordered a Murphy's and said "Hmm. This is what Guinness tastes like at home. I won't be having that." Said they're a tourist bar and as soon as tourist season ends (probably quite soon) they'll stop ordering Murphy's until the spring.

I can confirm Guinness does, indeed, taste better here.Back to rubbing it in I see, well I can get it on draught so there's that
Definitely going to hit up something for lunch. Starting to feel like a good Italian sandwich. Unfortunately, the place down the street doesn't open up until 4.Really? On game day no less evidently they don't need the business. You're in C-Bus proper right?

I remember liking it better back in the day, but it's been a while since I had either.
I was drinking a local brewery's stuff there, at the second pub I did have a Guinness. I can confirm Guinness does, indeed, taste better here.
Really? On game day no less evidently they don't need the business. You're in C-Bus proper right? It's just a little carry out pizza place. In any event, I landed on a new Mediterranean place that is really good. Shawarma it is
So going on Pub Crawl in Ireland - who da thunk?Unplanned actually. Weather was too bad to drive the Ring of Kerry route which we planned to do.

Awful to see that for NC State’s McCall.Man he got smushed

I'm hoping to find Beamish (which i haven't seen in the US in years and Kilkenny (which I've only seen in Canada) at some point.👍👍👍 Great minds and all of that

I like when UW plays Purdue.I didn't see THIS coming.
I didn't see THIS coming.Yes- I know Purdue is struggling this season. But today you could see shades of what is coming with offense. It just takes time for that big of a style change.
Hopefully they can build some confidence from this.
Purdue is PermabadYeah which is pretty crazy because they went from playing for the B1G chip in ‘21 and going 6-3 in conference play in ‘22 under Jeff Brohm to 3-6 in conference play in ‘23 and now looking like maybe the worst team in the country in ‘24 under Ryan Walters.
I already poured a glass of wine.Don't spill it
Let's see how long I go before needing a beerGuess I'm weak cracked 'em 20 minutes ago
DAY WTF was that???You mean Chip.
I didn't see THIS coming.Save the sandbags for real opponents, or for your next hurricane, badge.
Hopefully they can build some confidence from this.
Jeremiah Smith continues to be unreal. I can't imagine how annoyed I would be if I'm the DB on that playHe got away with a hold, great concentration by Smith but these new gloves are stickem lite
Outside of the OL, Egbuka has really looked sharper this year compared to lastHealthy.
Healthy.Definitely true, he's also blocking his ass off

Michigan inserts Jack Tuttle at quarterback, who promptly leads them to a touchdownJack Tuttle = QB1.
new coach is about to meet the pretty side of Bama nowLot of drunken gumps beating their wives/sisters tonight and going to go all in on Daboer on the call in shows on Monday…
Michigan inserts Jack Tuttle at quarterback, who promptly leads them to a touchdownBack to Tuttle for a second…is it just me or does he eat ground and accelerate a lot faster than Orji?
Back to Tuttle for a second…is it just me or does he eat ground and accelerate a lot faster than Orji?Hard to say because Orji much more indecisive. But Tuttle moving very well
Orji takes a long time to pick up a head of steam but once he gets going he’s a bitch to bring down. But the burst just doesn’t look there. Tuttle looks to have much better burst/acceleration.
Michigan in good shape consideringAgreed. That block on the FG by Mason Graham was HUGE. Now it’s 4 point game and they get the ball to open the 2nd half with a chance to take the lead.
Back to Tuttle for a second…is it just me or does he eat ground and accelerate a lot faster than Orji?Certainly seemed that way when he came in relief quick - moving the sticks, providing a spark .Well go ahead TD for the skunk weasels
Michigan in front. Who knew a seventh year qb could help?Someone tell Portnoy to give Tuttle some money if he closes this comeback deal….
Michigan in front. Who knew a seventh year qb could help?Brandon Weeden says Hi think he turned 29 his 1st year with the Browns
Who in the world is the decision maker at Michigan that Tuttle was not the starter from day 1. This is night and day different offense. He was injured. I believe he was FINALLY just cleared to play this week.
Did Tuttle back up Antwan Randal-El at Indiana? ;DPossibly.
Why are Michigan QB’s keep getting the balls batted down? OL….what you doing here?Huskies had 3 pts blocked - it happens
OuchWho's side you on?
Just got home. Wow. What a turnaround. Thoughts:Wish I could see the pics.
- The stadium was as dead as Abraham Lincoln after SC went up 17-10.
- For those watching at home, did any replays on the go-ahead TD actually show Brosmer get the ball across? None of the in stadium replays showed it.
Was working outside most of the day but managed to catch most of the "important" things... wow what a day.I was just looking through scores this morning, noticed that Texas didn't play and thought exactly this to myself.
Sure seems like a great weekend to have a bye, as a Top 25 team...
I was just looking through scores this morning, noticed that Texas didn't play and thought exactly this to myself.Another interesting one is #8 Miami. Ordinarily being #8 and barely surviving against an unranked team will drop you a few spots but in this case not likely. Two teams ahead of them and the three teams immediately behind them all lost so they looked really good by comparison.
Vandy beats Bama for the first time since 1984 and the first time in Nashville since 1976.https://youtu.be/lVKbjhcP8kU
I remember when he was a silent verbal to Wisconsin like 14 years ago.
Jack Tuttle = QB1.
What a f'd up day in CFB. Unreal.I know nobody likes the portal and the NIL stuff- but maybe because of it we are starting to see some parity in a sport that had absolutely none for 80+ years? and parity is a good thing in sports. very good thing.
I know nobody likes the portal and the NIL stuff- but maybe because of it we are starting to see some parity in a sport that had absolutely none for 80+ years? and parity is a good thing in sports. very good thing. This is a thing. Big schools can pay more, but players are motivated to play, too, so they don't need to sit around and wait for a spot to open up. Plus every team has the capability to fill trouble spots, so every team is improved.
which is why Saint Nick left Bama. he knew he couldn't just load up his roster better than the other teams via 'crootin and bag men and keep said roster wholly intact anymore. he knew there was nothing he could do about it and it was a fact of life that he was going to lose guys to the portal and NIL and not have the massive roster advantage in every single game he played anymore.
I remember when he was a silent verbal to Wisconsin like 14 years ago.after his last two drives in the 4th QTR....you can have him back.
Bama wins that game 99 times out of 100, it's not in my view some mark of parity, or near parity.Bama was losing for the vast majority of that game....
Vandy probably is a bit better than in the recent past, but they will still end up 4-8 or somesuch.
My guess is Bama ends up 10-2, and Vandy 4-8. They are not remotely at the same talent level. Maybe NIL leads to more parity down the road, it's possible, but this isn't a good example in my view. I think the portal (which is connected) is of more value to "lesser teams".that is not my point nor did I claim it was.
A down and out program can potentially get better players pretty quickly now as opposed to recruiting and still having a very young team at best.
But Vandy has nowhere near the talent of a Bama.
Every season, there’s teams that have a surprise shit the bed moment. Bama losing to Vandy is this years. I don’t know how that proves a ton of talent is leaving Bama for NIL money because they just beat Georgia the week before. If anything, this is a hangover moment. I’m personally one hoping for parity, but the big boys that were secretly spending the most behind the scenes are going to be the ones legally spending now imo. That will lead to more of the same. It's not that the big teams won't still be good, it's that it's more the Yankees v. the Reds now as opposed to the Yankees v. the Albuquerque Isotopes
after his last two drives in the 4th QTR....you can have him back.I never wanted him in the first place.
I'm fully in burn Jadyn Davis redshirt mode. Oh and put a bullet in Kirk Campbell's ass and fire him by tonight. Get a temp OC and call a firm to help start a nation wide search now for a new one.
Wish I could see the pics.https://twitter.com/Jared_Hines27/status/1842764472609395076?s=19
No pics showed Brosmer over the goal line on 3rd down - you could not see the QB. But on 4th down it was very clear, and I was about as pissed in real time as P.J. Ish - did I admit that? But yes, I was rooting for the gophers, and their victory on television was clear, even before the referees' lazy eyes perceived, and overruled the field call.

That's not targeting? I do not know what is targeting. That was criminal. Miami has gotten the benefit of two really controversial replay reviews two weeks in a row. If that was called targeting like it should have been I’m not sure they win the game.

Vandy probably is a bit better than in the recent past, but they will still end up 4-8 or somesuch.
I think replay folks were advised not to call targetting unless it's blatantly obvious. They probably were too generous at first, and now they are too conservative.I had never heard that because on field officials are trained to throw the flag on targeting if you’re unsure. They are taught to err on the side of caution. Don’t know why replay officials would get different instructions.
It may just be me, but the officials- especially the replay officials- are dominating so many games now.I think challenges ahould be part of the strategy. No automatic reviews, but everything is challengeable. You get unlimited challenges, but for every one you get wrong, you lose a timeout. If you have no timeouts, you lose the ability. to challenge
Plus- they seem to get so many obvious calls wrong.
It may just be me, but the officials- especially the replay officials- are dominating so many games now.Scrap the caddy Clyde the whole system needs to be revamped. When reviewing plays - break for a commercial and satisfy that obligation, doing so the advertisor get their commercials in.
Plus- they seem to get so many obvious calls wrong.
It may just be me, but the officials- especially the replay officials- are dominating so many games now.agree 100%. it’s ruining the flow of the game as well. so many stops and reviews- the damn games are long enough as is. I almost prefer the old ways.
Plus- they seem to get so many obvious calls wrong.
Miami 39-38 California (Oct 5, 2024) Final Score - ESPN (https://www.espn.com/college-football/game/_/gameId/401635568/miami-california)USF, VaTech, and Cal game shows you just how important the QB is.
Their "win possibility predictor" graphic is epic.
I saw how good Ward was last year when he beat Wisconsin all by himself.Miami had that super fan Jon Ruiz the founder/CEO majority share holder of that LifeWallet company buying up all kinds of players for Miami with NIL deals.
When he hit the portal that was my first choice.
$$$$$$$$$$$ won.
Can Miami use NIL to pay people to go to their home games?they don't even have home games lol. they play at the Miami Dolphins' Hard Rock Stadium.
That said, although Cam Ward is quite good, the ACC refs are propping up this team. This is a 3 or 4 loss team in the B1G or SEC. I'd actually be happy if I were a fan of a team that gets matched up with them in the CFP.while all of this is true, still a dangerous team to play because of him imo. when a QB that good is ON and locked in and in the zone and just operating at a high level he can win his teams games they have no business winning.

Q: What do you call a coach in Alabama who takes his ranked team into Nashville and loses to Vandy?
A: Senator
Can Miami use NIL to pay people to go to their home games? This fall, nearly 30 students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln have been sponsored by Runza to cheer on the Huskers.
After weeks of nonconference matchups played on home fields, the league season has ramped up. So, too, have the cross-country trips. You’ll never guess how those results are playing out.
Teams traveling at least two time zones for conference matchups are 1-8 thus far, and the lone win — Indiana over UCLA in the Rose Bowl — carries a significant caveat: The Hoosiers were coming off a Friday game, at home, against Western Illinois. (They had an extra day to prepare and a cupcake to eat.)
The eight losing teams that have traveled multiple time zones are USC (at Michigan and Minnesota), Michigan State (at Oregon), Washington (at Rutgers), Northwestern (at Washington), UCLA (at Penn State), Wisconsin (at USC), and Michigan (at Washington).
The list of losses includes several next-level logistical hurdles: Washington and Michigan State had long trips on short weeks (for Friday games), while UCLA kicked at 9 a.m. Pacific in its blowout loss Saturday at Penn State — the same start time the Huskies will face next weekend at Iowa.
To be clear: There is more to the losses noted above than taxing travel. But it stands to reason that the impact of air miles logged and time zones crossed adds to the timeless challenges posed by matchups, injuries and mistakes. We should also note that of the eight road teams that crossed the Rockies and lost, only USC was favored to win its matchup (at both Michigan and Minnesota).
