The wind is blowing, it's been raining all day, the high is just above 70, and that means heaven has arrived in Ohio. We've got football tonight and we've got football tomorrow.
Unfortunately, I have to travel some. My dad is sort of the lynchpin holding everything together down home, and he's having some health issues. So I've got to go down and take care of some things. My wife, not being blesses geographically, volunteered us to stop by Athens where my oldest daughter just started college. That's a good hour or two out of the way, all in the driving rain and wind, so it doesn't promise to be a great drive.
Still, I should get down home sometime tonight, to see the great traditional B1G matchup of Washington v. Rutgers. New Jersey forever.
Schedule
Washington at Rutgers, Friday, 8 pm, FOX
Minnesota at #12 Michigan, Noon, FOX
Maryland at Indiana, Noon, BTN
Nebraska at Purdue, Noon, Peacock
Wisconsin at #13 USC, 3:30 pm, CBS
#3 OSU at MSU, 7:30, Peacock
#19 Illinois at #9 PSU, 7:30, NBC
#8 Oregon at UCLA, 11 pm, FOX
Others
#20 Okie State at #23 Kansas State, Noon, ESPN
#15 Louisville at #16 ND, 3:30, Peacock
#2 Georgia at #4 Alabama, 7:30, ABC

Sounds fun, Sam. I'm sure your wife has always wanted to see Greece :57:

to see the great traditional B1G matchup of Washington v. Rutgers. New Jersey forever.
My favorite part of this post, LoL.
-
Decided I'm not going to the high school game tonight, it's in a town about 1.5 hours away and through some heavy traffic. The marching band can do without me this week.
So I guess I'm watching B1G Friday Primetime tonight. I'm indifferent to both Washington and Rutgers so... Go... Team!
Horns and Ags both play around the same time tomorrow. We're going to have reps from both families here at the house. I'm grilling fajitas for the gang, my i s c & a aggie wife is making the Mexican rice, bro is doing a big pot of frijoles charros. Folks are bringing guacamole and picadillo. Sis is making the chile con queso. Margaritas y cervezas will be consumed.
Gonna be a good day.
-
I'm home. Left for a trip through Nebraska Monday morning.
I'll be watching Husker Volleyball in a bit
-

You're on a roll today, been mixing those IPAs with Stoli Mudslides?
-
Sorry to hear about his health issues Sam. Tough when family goes through health problems. The reality of life can hit hard and without compassion. Drive safe.

Anybody watch Army vs Temple?
There's nothing worse than losing big to an option team....and all they're gonna keep doing is that same option that you can't handle already.
-
Miami losing to Virginia Tech at home at half-time 24-17. wow.
just when I want to believe in them, they go and do this. Cam Ward better ball out in the 2nd half or else....
yeah i get it conference games are always tough, but VaTech stinks. this is a team that lost to Vanderbilt in a game that wasn't really as close as the final score indicated and also lost to Rutgers....
-
Rutgers pretty much punking Washington right now. Rutgers is definitely an improved team, but Washington probably sucks.
-
How can UDub be this bad after playing for the NC last year.
-
How can UDub be this bad after playing for the NC last year.
is this a serious question? isn't the answer obvious?
they lost the best passing QB in the country and maybe the best QB they've ever had in Penix to the NFL. they lost 3 WR's to the NFL draft. they lost literally their entire OL to the NFL draft/graduation/portal. they lost their head coach and huge chunk of their coaching staff to Alabama. they joined a new conference and have to scout/adapt to all new opponents and completely different style of play than they are used to in the PAC and ontop of that are traveling back and forth like 5,000 miles for these damn games. and they weren't a great defensive team last year and what little talent they had on that side of the ball hit the portal or the NFL draft.
I believe they lost 20 of 22 starters from last years team and 30 players in their two deep from last year to NFL/graduation/portal and you throw in an all-new coaching staff and a massive transition to the B1G with long distance travel- they were bound to suck.
it's not remotely the same team/program. everything has changed.
-
Miami down 27-17 to VaTech now late into the 3rd QTR. They better get it together....fast.
-
Cam Ward put Miami on his back that drive and punches it in with a 17 yard TD run. 27-24, Miami clawing back only down by 3 now going into the 4th QTR.
This is where VaTech collapses and Ward pulls off the comeback methinks.
-
...but it's not like they are going against Penn State. I mean, this is Rutgers that we are talking about...
-
...but it's not like they are going against Penn State. I mean, this is Rutgers that we are talking about...
fair point. but Rutgers might be better than we all think. and Washington is playing better right now...looked like Rutgers was about to blow them out but Washington has slowed them down so far this 2nd half...two 3 and outs now for Rutgers.
-
Washington hits a 50 yard catch and run TD. 14-10. We have a ball game now.

Shouldn't even be wearing the same helmet as last year.

Thanks to the UGA-Bama game hype, it'll now be the 2nd- longest streak of teams playing as top-10 teams at 7 consecutive years.
Florida and FSU did it 13 straight times. The Dawgs and Tide are just halfway there. I had quickly looked up a few good-at-the-same-time rivalries, and OSU-UM did it maybe 6 straight times in the 70s. But I didn't know the official 2nd-longest streak until today.
What makes the record even more impressive is that it was the last regular season game of each season, plus 2 bowls in which one beat the other and they were both still in the top 10.
It's absurd.
-
Crazy finish. Replay is killing the game.
-
I honestly couldn’t tell what happened but I didn’t think there was enough to overturn it.
-

Nothing to overturn.
-
That's gonna be a looooong flight back to Seattle.
-
Head scratcher
-
Gun to my head I thought the VT kid caught it and the Miami kid swiped it and knocked it loose after he had completed the catch but I don’t feel super strongly about that.
-
A game ending on a replay call sucks.

Do prefer a game ender on a clearly bad call that could not be reversed or reviewed?

As they should (The characterization is in, totally correct, but it doesn’t make it a little funnier because with army, they’re probably just gonna run full back inside zone over and over and that is somehow even more disheartening if you can’t stop it)
-
I honestly didn’t think that was a catch at the end of the Miami game, but I very much wanted it to be.
Also, feeling groggy this morning after a nice religious dinner with some people last night. Need to wheel myself into a long run. Considered joining a local running Group that takes off shortly, but decided to ease to the start of my day.
Then settle into an afternoon of watching the early games, getting out of the Badger bar for that game and then ducking over to a friend‘s birthday event.
-
Greetings from a damp and overcast Ann Arbor. Flight over last night was the first time I'd been on a domestic wide body flight since college, and it handled a very choppy approach into DTW like a champion.
Tailgate should be rain free, but more showers will be rolling through here during the game.
-
I get amused at all the Talking Heads prognosticating about who is going to win some game that clearly is 50-50. I know they have to do it, and nobody really looks later at how accurate they are, but such games usually hinge on some "freak play" that cannot be predicted.
I occasionally see some post where 2-3 guys pick games ATS, and I NEVER have seen one fellow beating the spread consistently by end of year. They nearly always are 50-50ish, rarely will anyone be even 29-21 ATS.
It's fascinating how fascinating it all is.
-
There are SIX flying billboards circling the stadium. I've seen one or two, but never six.
Cue the Ride of the Valkyries...
-
We probably ended up w close to 2 inches and a lot of debris from the hurricane remnants.
Most HS games were moved to today. Seems like a slow cook pork day.
Attractive slate today.
-
Rutgers get its "S" back.
I think they are good. The Greek God at QB looks much better than he did under PJ Barnum too.
-
Good for Rutgers. I was pulling for them. We had a concert last night, so I missed seeing most of the stuff. The Braves are hanging in there by the skinny.

That sucks. Sorry to hear.

A seder would be one example of a "religious dinner". It's not the season for that one I think.

Knocked out 10.2 miles at 9:17 pace. I think I started a little too hot, I felt really good, and I’m just ran low on juice on the back end. I would love to see my mile split data, but Google is currently trying to screw me out of that, so eff them on that front.

What is a religious dinner?
So, I’m Jewish. The Jewish Sabbath runs from Friday evening to Saturday evening. Almost every denomination has a tradition in which the sabbath is welcomed in with a meal.
There are a series of steps, lighting, candles, sanctifying, and drinking wine, washing your hands, breaking a particular bread for the sabbath meal.
I am part of what kind of amounts to a meetup group of Jewish folks in their 20s and 30s. Every so often, the organizers, which are Jewish organization, Hold dinners a few times a month. It’s loud and boisterous. You may see friends. I chatted with a few people I know and a rabbi about world politics. Solid little night. (The groups hold the value of building community and probably fostering Jewish couples)
-
Looks like you'll be well out of the woods by gametime, assuming AccuWeather has it right.
Yup, that's what we're seeing too. However, getting in will be wet, and it takes an act of Congress to move in that stadium.
-
Kind of a mixture of things cooking today.
I have some Vienna Beef hot dogs we brought back from our last trip North, so that's lunch. Depression Dogs!!
Then I found stuff in the freezer.
I have a piece of flat iron steak, one chicken breast, 8 wings, and one piece of halibut that my friend caught in Canada.
A mixed bag for sure.
-

Never thought of it that way, but yeah.
That place is another example of something that could not be permitted to build in 2024.

Well, ya got me.
I assumed "religious dinner" was sarcasm and meant something about getting a little too deep into the wine and not feeling so good this AM :57:
-
Gun to my head I thought the VT kid caught it and the Miami kid swiped it and knocked it loose after he had completed the catch but I don’t feel super strongly about that.
Same. It was a bang bang 50-50 play and I feel like there just wasn’t enough indisputable evidence on the replay to be over turned. It was realllly close and I think in those situations you have to go with the ruling on the field every time.
Miami caught a break I think and they may just be a pretender after being pushed to the wire at home by a pretty lousy VaTech team.
Luckily for Miami they play in the ACC and with teams like Florida State and UNC…
-
Rutgers get its "S" back.
I think they are good. The Greek God at QB looks much better than he did under PJ Barnum too.
I do think they are a much improved team. I can’t stand Schiano but much like BERT - another fat disgusting slob I can’t stand- the man can coach.

Nebraska at Purdue is buried on Peacock.
To me, it is even more surprising that NBC decided to bury #15 Louisville at #16 Notre Dame on Peacock too. And NBC proper has no Noon or 3:30 kicks today.
NBC has nothing today until the 7:30 #19 Illinois at #9 Penn State game, and nobody will watch it because all eyes will be on Georgia/Bama.
Ohio State is also buried on Peacock tonight.
What the hell are they thinking?

No afternoon CFB for me. Golf outing.
That’s ok- seems like the best games will be this evening.

Greetings from a damp and overcast Ann Arbor.
Likewise, greetings from our tailgating spot on the campus of Auburn. Yesterday’s heavy storm clouds have cleared off and it’s a heavenly sunny morning here in the high 70s. Kickoff Vs Oklahoma at 230 Central.

Crazy how both teams absolutely suck now and have for a minute in Florida’s case.

Why is Kentucky wearing Dolphins helmets?
-
Michigan just isn’t as good at LB as they were last year.
Jaishawn Barham the big time transfer portal pick up has been a major disappointment. He just isn’t as disciplined and sound as Junior Colson.
And Ernest Hausmann doesn’t look like he’s taken the next step with another year in the system and a full-time starter role. Mike Barrett was just flat out better in coverage and at reading his keys and getting run stops. Hausmann is bigger, stronger, faster, more explosive but he just isn’t as smart and disciplined of a linebacker.
Very disappointed in this starting LB duo. Had much higher hopes for them both.

Even if Orji can’t throw just being able to pick up 1st downs with his legs to play the field position game and not throw an interception every 12th pass like Davis Warren will keep them in games. How the coaches didn’t realize this is beyond me.
Mullings with a 30 yard TD run already. Let’s go.

Will the next NCAA 25 patch put Michigans actual best RB on the cover? Or maybe one of their two top 10 Draft picks on defense

He's up there with Travis Hunter, and neither will sniff the Heisman.

RS Frosh CB Jyaire Hill is starting to look like a real player. I think he’s going to be a the next star CB for Michigan.
-
He's up there with Travis Hunter, and neither will sniff the Heisman.
They are both worthy, awesome players but…..
Hunter won’t because Colorado will lose a bunch more games. Colorado is 3-1 but they were 3-1 at this point last year and went 1-7 to close the season. More of the same this year, I think.
Johnson won’t because his coaches won’t play him on offense. I think if they gave him some run on offense he might have a shot though.
-
How many god damn commercial breaks do these networks need? Jfc.
-
Zeke Berry and Jyaire Hill both making plays and looking like ball players. Michigan has a legit CB 2 and a legit nickel.
Kalel Mullings. My god man I love watching this kid run. Just a battering ram, physical chain mover but with sweet feet, great vision, good contact balance, and more burst/speed than you’d think a 230-235 pound power tackle breaking back would have.
Recruit more backs like this Sherrone.

Mason Graham is so fucking good.

Agree. But the lightning needs to be able to break more tackles and have much better vision than the current lightning.

zero passing game. defensive scores, turnovers, and blocked punts. Michigan = Iowa but with better players.

Jyaire Hill is a stud.

Back. Kind of a wash of a trip, literally, as I was driving on back country roads through flash flooding warnings and parts of Portsmouth were under water. The festival I was going to was cancelled, but I did get some family time and didn't get washed away, so that's a win. Also had a good time at OU with my oldest daughter, as it was actually sunny and nice for a brief period of time. Told my wife to not expect me to do anything for the rest of the day.
Settled in. See Michigan knows who they are, up 21-3 while on pace for 200 yards of offense. Indiana-Maryland is good, Purdue suddenly has a pulse on defense, and Kentucky is giving Ole Miss all they want. Good slate of noon games.
-
The Purdue HC was a great DC for Bert.
That D didn't look so great against ND though.
-
Bad lines don't travel in the pros, and they definitely don't in college. The Gopher OL has been awful.
And have I mentioned yet PJ'S problems in the kicking game?
Crappy game.

Presidents/Ryder Cup is the best golf to watch all year. Guys shit talking each other. Fans allowed to act like fans. LIV had the right idea with team golf, but you cant just create teams out of this air and expect people to give a shit. International team golf is awesome
-
Settled in. See Michigan knows who they are, up 21-3 while on pace for 200 yards of offense.
in Michigan’s defense their starting field position on offense has been insane. Lack of functional passing game was keeping this thing from being 35-3 at half.
-
Kirk Campbell needs to be fired at the end of the year.
If I’m Sherrone Moore I’m calling Nick Sheridan and begging him to come home and give him full control of the offense.
-
in Michigan’s defense their starting field position on offense has been insane. Lack of functional passing game was keeping this thing from being 35-3 at half.
There is almost no reason for Michigan to even attempt a pass. Heck, why not just bench Orji and go full wildcat with Edwards and Mullings.
-
Terps respond - Hemby with a long touchdown. The ref made an excellent block to spring it

Kentucky giving Ole Miss all they want.

Michigan’s portal kicker has a leg. That thing would’ve been good from 60.
24-3. This one likely over.
Makari Paige is the KING of almost making a huge play and then….not making it.

24-3. This one likely over.
Likely? The fat lady has already lost her voice.
I switched over to MD/IU... 21-21.
-
We've got a Hoosier touchdown
Watching the Maryland offense, I think the MSU defense might actually be legitimately decent. I still think the offense is a mess, because we have a 19-year-old quarterback, two meh RBs, and a subpar OL
-
Orji just went through his progressions left to middle to right then hit his 3rd option on time on target with a bullet that was 20+ yards in the air for a gain of 16.
What is this sorcery?
-
(https://i.imgur.com/E3qtX6J.jpeg)
He had great vision, great feet and was deceptively quick and fast.
He also never beat Michigan, because they could contain him. He WAS the offense.
-
Bad throw but Colston Loveland with a terrible effort to fight for the ball.
-
Terps respond - Hemby with a long touchdown. The ref made an excellent block to spring it
I saw that. Sucks for IU because I think that kid would have made the tackle, or least slow him down.
-
Hoosiers go back on top. What a fun game, and love the way Indiana skill players deliver a blow on almost every hit
-
Kirk Campbell needs to be fired at the end of the year.
If I’m Sherrone Moore I’m calling Nick Sheridan and begging him to come home and give him full control of the offense.
I mean dont beg him, pay him, and I think he will. Granted dudes have a lot of pride. Remember when Scott Loeffler was an up and coming OC, and was still pissed that UM passed him over for Dreisbach/Griese. Enos and MSU have a similar relationship
-
Someone with a high quality Michigan education explain why the ball is leaving the ground when Michigan is on offense.

I will NEVER forget that, and to this day I still sorry for @MikeDeTiger (https://www.cfb51.com/index.php?action=profile;u=1588) .
That was BRUTAL.
Thank God we were all hammered.

Hoosiers go up two touchdowns
WINdiana!
That new coach is legit.
-
WINdiana!
That new coach is legit.
His personality was either going to totally work, or be a joke. Turns out Fleck was a joke, maybe this dude has something. Also, sounds like Indiana's NIL is off the charts. Someone said its the 3rd highest in the conference, behind only OSU and UM, but it's split with basketball, which is going to have the highest NIL commitment in the nation this coming season
-
Minnesota’s only points courtesy of the refs.
That TE did NOT catch the ball before the half, the ball hit the ground.
That 4th and 11 should’ve been the game sealer but no the refs call a BULLSHIT hands to the face on Mason Graham to give PJ Barnum a new set of downs and a 1st and goal.

QB Rourke has thrown for 3 TDs,334yds.....and 2 picks

Damn Big Ten refs in the pocket of Minnesota, doing the conferences' bidding to screw Michigan, to get that sweet Swede money
-
QB Rourke has thrown for 3 TDs,334yds.....and 2 picks
Sucks for Ohio
-
Kirk Campell can go fuck himself.
Sherron Moore CANNOT keep him as OC if he wants to be at Michigan more than 2-3 years before getting fired.
-
Damn Big Ten refs in the pocket of Minnesota, doing the conferences' bidding to screw Michigan, to get that sweet Swede money
Everyone knows the Big 18 refs are in the pocket of Minnesota!
-
this drive coming up here is Kirk Campbell’s put up or shut up drive.
If he doesn’t get something for this offense here fire his stupid ass at the end of the game.
Oh and PJ Fleck can suck on a bag of AIDS dicks and die in a plane crash for all I care. Did I mention I hate that fucking guy?
-
Do I need to switch to Michigan-Minny? One score game
-
Do I need to switch to Michigan-Minny? One score game
Not if you enjoy offense. If you enjoy shit shows, go for it.
-
Like seeing Michigan line up almost in a wishbone
-
Do I need to switch to Michigan-Minny? One score game
Nah, Michigan has dominated. Feels like this is the correction for the Fresno game. Minnesota can't do anything unless Michigan gives it to them. Michigan should be up by 21

I turned it off after third third at 24-3, that felt like 42-3
-
Baylor-BYU is quite a game. I thought BYU would suck this year
-
Wtf was that pitch to the short side of the field to Mullings and 1st and 10?
Just let the dude ram it up the middle please…
-
All right feel bad for someone hurt but feels like you can treat a shoulder injury on the sideline
-
What on earth is Minnesota doing? Throwing the game? Klatt is 100 percent right
-
I turned it off after third third at 24-3, that felt like 42-3
And you made the MN/MI thread a POSTGAME thread.
Put the hex on them.

This is ban worthy

Agreed.
Klatt is fucking AWFUL. I watch the games he does on mute.
-
Weird how just feeding Mullings works
-
Agreed.
Klatt is fucking AWFUL. I watch the games he does on mute.
I don't mind him. It's Gus that's the problem.
-
Weird how just feeding Mullings works
Works especially well when the other team is playing two deep safeties to prevent, uh, something very theoretical for Michigan
-
Why would you mismanage that clock there? JFC. They could’ve taken another minute off the clock just holding the ball and running down the clock and running the ball.
It could be 27-17 with 3:30 left instead of 4:30.
Kirk Campbell sucks and Sherrone Moore showing his rookie-ness.
-
Kentucky is a good offense away from being #1 in the country
-
I like how vocal both McDonough and Herby have gotten regarding BS injuries and intentional slowdowns.
-
Kentucky is down 17-13 to Ole Miss. Just went for it on 4th and 7 from its 20 with 4 minutes left. Hit a 63 yard pass. Now have 1st and Goal.
-
UK driving late on Ole. Miss.
-
Kentucky is a good offense away from being #1 in the country
DT Deone Walker and CB Maxwell Hairston are from Detroit. If only Michigan was able to reel them in….their defense would be unreal.
-
Touchdown UK! Appropriately in yakety sax fashion
-
Wink Martindale sucks.
Both these Co-ordinators need to be fired at the end of the year and a portal QB is a MUST.
-
UK takes lead on fumble into the end zone.

That was a very odd hire. While Ravens fans are pissed they didn't move on from John Harbaugh and promote Mike MacDonald. I think if Michigan had brought him back as HC, he would have been the next Kirby Smart
-

Extremely odd.
Wink sends an all out blitz in man coverage with BACK UP edge rushers in the game. Of course you’re going to give up a 1st down there.
The guy SUCKS. There’s a reason he was run out of the NFL twice. He’s a dinosaur that is past his prime and the game has passed him by.
-
Dave Aranda is probably going to be canned this year.
I hope Wisconsin beats Michigan in the race to get him. He did love Madison.

Not sure what the ref was looking at

I would love that hire for DC.

I would love that hire for DC.
I know you would.
For Wisconsin!
-
I say the Gophers will kick off then play prevent. Gotta guard the Michigan long ball above all else
-
this last defense series was an absolute fucking JOKE and a fireable offense for Wink Martindale.
The guy has to go. He CANNOT finish the season as DC. I’d fire him after this game to be honest and promote one of the assistants and get a head start on finding a replacement for 2025.
-
OMG
-
Refs taking one back
-
This Michigan defense is not totally it. Am I mad about a stupid comeback and back door cover? Yes, yes I am.
-
Moore needs to fire damn near his entire staff.
They need new everything.
Moore should’ve offered Steve Clinkscale the DC job. Wink is a problem. Kirk Campbell is a problem.
-

Ole Miss lining up for a tying field goal

UK going to beat Ole Miss.

Were they really offside on the kickoff? No replays.
This game would be a lot more I interesting of the Gophers hadn't gifted Michigan two easy TDs.

Sucks to suck I guess.
Oh and fuck PJ Fleck. I hope he chokes on a bag of dicks.
-
Totally thought that UW safety had the pick. Wow.
-
So, UK looks horrible against USCe, at home, then takes UGA to the wire, then beats top ten Ole Miss, on the road.
-

No. It wasn't close. You know it's a bad call when Pereira, the commentators, and the in studio guys all say the official messed up. Got to protect Michigan though.
-
So, UK looks horrible against USCe, at home, then takes UGA to the wire, then beats top ten Ole Miss, on the road.
College football. Gotta love it. As OAM often says, almost impossible to predict how 18-22 year olds will perform on a week to week basis.
-
Wisconsin looking spry
-
The spread does a good job predicting outcomes, but of course imperfect…..
-
Well, I did not see this coming.
Thank you, Michigan, for the playbook on how to defend SC.
Badger D getting a ton of pressure on Moss. Completely unexpected.
Now, Half 2.
Can they do it?
On, Wisconsin!

Is USC a poser?
-
Oh man Wiscy muffs a punt
-
USC struggling here surprises me a little.
That Kentucky end was a lot of fun.
-
UNLV 31-0 over Fresno St, Weasels have a tough home schedule ;D
-
I think the running from shotgun on short yardage thing is over rated.
I think Wisconsin’s blocking, which is not well regarded is also overrated.

well they are a scrappy bunch. fighting back this second half and not giving up here.

Texas under Sark always seems to have 1 of these weird conference games where they play down to inferior competition that they should blow out.
Also think they are missing Ewers a bit. Arch gonna be REALLY good, but Ewers already is really good, more experienced, better command of Sark’s system and he’s proven it against some top flight competition for 2 seasons and change now.
Last year Ewers converted on 26 3rd and 10+’s downs. Which was 3rd highest in the nation behind only JJ & Dillon Gabriel.

I regret to inform you that Colorado may be good

Travis Hunter is unreal
-
Big Ten Luke Fickell
-
Miller Moss drives them down 77 yards and punches it in himself on the ground.
USC up 31-21 with 8 mins to go.
Oklahoma losing to 11 by Auburn. Wow.
-
Wisconsin lacking in enough toughness or playmakers. I didn’t expect they’d win up 21-10. But the way they’ve given it back is putrid.
Longo has eight games to win his job back. Badgers have a tough bowl path, but if they don’t make that, Fickell is at least in hot seat range.
-
I regret to inform you that Colorado may be good
I think UCF might be mid to sub-mid.

Guy just makes plays.

I regret to inform you that Colorado may be good
They are playing Central Florida…
I’ll wait to see how they fare vs K-State, Utah, and Okie State.
-
USC players dropping like flies.
Miller Moss might be concussed and now their best edge defender Gentry is hurt.
-
That's one way to slow them down
-
When was the last time that BC, UConn and UMass all won on the same day?

SC players may be dropping like flies, but it's now 28 unanswered points for them in the second half.

Can we all agree that Tessitore is the worst?
-
Louisville just a terrible job on that 4th down. Late getting the play in and a 4th and inches turns into a 4th and 5. Gagged it away.
-
The run off on the ref screw up is always hilarious, unless it happens to you
-
Can we all agree that Tessitore is the worst?
Yup. Him and Gus are the two most insufferable PBP guys
-
When was the last time that BC, UConn and UMass all won on the same day?
UMass beefed it.
The Redhawks are off the schneid.

Well, I did not see this coming.

Badger D getting a ton of pressure on Moss. Completely unexpected.

On, Wisconsin!
Wisconsin sucks. The OC and DC suck. I'm questioning Fickell. The QB sucks.
Blow it up.
Go young and it's baptism by fire. F it.

20 years olds, dude.
-
There is NO WAY the Badgers are making a bowl game.
This coaching staff is terrible.
They had that game and gave it away. Inexcusable.
No points in the second half? Shotgun on 4th and 2 feet? A 5-11 QB who can't run or avoid passes being batted down? An offense that can't keep the D off the field? The freshman RB is the best on the team and got maybe 6-7 plays? WTF are they going? Playing the loyalty game with seniors on defense who are clearly not as good as their young backups? WHY?
I'm pissed and I'm out.
They need to start over again.

I think it's safe to say Kansas' HC is off a lot of wish lists around the country.

Is the Line still Illinois +18 seeing 19.5 in some places
Like Illinois here hell of a lot closer than that
-
UNC loses a 20-point lead to Duke and now trails, 21-20 39 sec left
-
Bucks look goof driving, but get sprung by a personal foul of some sort. Either a bad call or the replay didn't show what happened. Either way, 3-0.
-
Spartans punching the headliners in the head - alright a stop finally

Auburn had a 96.4% chance of winning with 10 min left in the game at home....lost by 6.

I'm pissed and I'm out.
Relax, Badge. You just played two teams in a row that out-talent you across the entire roster. And your starting QB is out.
Don't worry. You've got a get-right game coming up next week. Your Badgers will look like Super Bowl Champs against a Pop Warner squad.

Chiles has to be the most hesitant mobile QB of all time. Usually you have to teach them to stay in the pocket, but Chiles looks like he never wants to run
-
Can't pass algebra?
So weird. A 4th year senior.
-
Milroe on Bama is a cheeser video game QB, like Vick was. For your QB to be the fastest guy on the field, it's just sort of not fair.
btw, that #17 LB on UGA is playing the role of Ryan Gosling in Remember the Titans....they need to put Petey back in.
EDIT
damn, he must've heard me, getting the stop on 4th down. Good job, fella.
wow, he REALLY heard me!
NOTE: I don't believe he actually heard me, as I'm in Phoenix watching on TV and he's kind of busy playing football in Tuscaloosa. I'm making a joke again.

They keep telling me Carson Beck is good, but what the hell was that

For a moment things going UGA way, then Beck does that….

IIRC the last time the # 2 team got gutted like this was Black Friday 2001.

Was speaking of their game as #2 v uga.

Alabama was playing possum the first few weeks of the season, as they say in the south. Blitzes they haven't shown all year + a lot of empty sets on offense that are new as well.
-
Was speaking of their game as #2 v uga.
They weren't #2 when they played UGA.
-
In that case I’d go w OU vs SC.

Katzenmoyer was the original "we aint playin skool". Problem is everyone is aware of AIDS now

that 17 year old true frosh WR for Alabama is unfucking real.
lot of those huge catches he plucked from the sky including the game winner were pretty dog shit throws from Milroe. That kids ability to track the football in the air, his hand eye co-ordination, body control, and run after the catch ability is all just insane.

Thinking that guys like me would subscribe, I passed.
-
They are thinking they can coerce die hard fans of helmet teams with huge fan bases in ND, Nebraska, and Ohio State to subscribe to Peacock.
Exactly.
-
Yep. I'm not getting Peacock to watch my team get thrashed by Nebraska.
I wasn't willing to pay for it to watch my team win.

A "general" college degree is an entry to a lot of jobs that don't require knowledge in that subject matter. You have to be willing and able to work at it. If you're functionally illiterate it's not going to help.
I got to know a Porsche/Audi car salesman who played CFB and then whatever the pro league was below the NFL. He let me drive some cars at times. He had a college degree, I suspect, in something, maybe. This was when I was still in school and very poor.
-
I was impressed that Penn State was able to shut down Illinois offense in the second half. Glad Michigan doesn’t play the Nitts this year.

I'm a novice fan/follower in the DB Cooper Caper. And evidently the FBI was big in hiring attorneys or accountants as agents then molding them
And yes to the Penn State I was listening to the OSU/MSU game on the radio and had that game on the tv while working around the house. The Illini scored very early not sure if it was in their 1st possession or not.Have no idea what they or Bert were doing but they weren't stepping on the gas
-
well damn, though I was up didn't catch much of the Dawgs/Tide game as last I looked Tide had things in hand by the end of 3
Couldn't know the Bulldogs would score three touchdowns over the final 9:46. Alabama got the only one it needed.Georgia went for it five times on fourth down and made them all. That helped make up from a 3-of-15 performance on third down.
-
I was driving at noon yesterday and listened to games on Sirius for the first time. Actually not bad, if you are stuck without television. Easy to transition among 6 different games, including all the B1G ones. I think they just link to one side's radio. Was listening to "Boilermaker radio" for a bit.

I feel weird because I used to really like radio since I grew up without cable. But I got an app that streams to my phone. So if I’m driving, I just play the TV broadcast on my phone and listen.
It’s probably not the best idea, and I honestly probably would try radio but the apps I’ve used are just not very good for it.

I feel weird because I used to really like radio since I grew up without cable. But I got an app that streams to my phone. So if I’m driving, I just play the TV broadcast on my phone and listen.

Yeah, I used to stream from my phone, but eventually got frustrated with it and prefer the radio where I can flip channels from my steering wheel. I know technology constantly upgrades, so maybe in my next car it will make more sense to stream.

I was driving at noon yesterday and listened to games on Sirius for the first time. Actually not bad, if you are stuck without television. Easy to transition among 6 different games, including all the B1G ones. I think they just link to one side's radio. Was listening to "Boilermaker radio" for a bit.
Sirius channel 84 is constantly updating scores and will send you to some of the bigger games around the country to listen to snippets. If you’re in a car it’s not a bad way to keep up with what is happening.

It was weird yesterday. I was at a golf outing, so had the phone available to occasionally check scores
- Michigan Up big against Minnesota, makes sense
-What is going on with Nebraska and Purdue with 00 so late in the game?
Quite a bit later:
-What the F? Michigan 24, Minnesota 14??
-ahh, Huskers pulling away.
And it just continued last night. Had two televisions on watching the buckeyes versus Spartans and Alabama versus Georgia. Turn that game off and then check the score much later and was like what the hell?
Crazy day.

On a few occasions I've listened to games there where they had both broadcasts. The display says either:
- Georgia (bcast) at Alabama, or
- Georgia at Alabama (bcast).
On my prior vehicle you could option the display to show song title on your presets (loved that). If you did that and loaded the games as your presets it would show the scores and quarter. That way, you could glance down and see which one was most intriguing. If that didn't make sense, the presets display might look like:
- 1Q Ore 7 UCLA 3
- 4Q GA 28 AL 33
So, you could glance at that and see that Oregon and UCLA was close but it was early in the game. You'd also see that the UGA/Bama game that looked over at 30-7 was suddenly looking close at 28-33.

Sucks to suck I guess.
Oh and fuck PJ Fleck. I hope he chokes on a bag of dicks.
I get being a fan of a team but dude you need help,
and I of course expect a real high IQ response to this

Expect nothing of the sorts except a giant fuck you to PJ Fleck, who is a fucking clown.

are the HS WR’s just getting better these days with more passing in HS?
seems like there are some stud true frosh WRs out there flashing big time already. JJ Smith at OSU, Ryan Williams at Bama, Ryan Wingo at Texas. And a couple more that are banged up right now and on bad teams in Cam Coleman at Auburn and Nick Marsh at Sparty.
Oh and Kalen Daboer and his staff are incredible when it comes to offense. The fact that he can take over an offense with QBs vastly different to what he had at Washington and in year 1 make Bama and Milroe far superior to what they were last year is….wow. Milroe with Bama last year ain’t dropping 41 on a team as good as UGA.
Bama really ain’t going nowhere with Daboer and Bama still is Kirby’s kryptonite. He literally beats everyone but them.
-
Both Bama and UGA have supreme rosters. I think Deboer did well by basically doing things UGA wouldn't see on their existing film from this season. That's a choice and it worked extremely well.
But I'm most impressed by HCs from their halftime adjustments. Smart turned the tide on the Tide after halftime. Bama did nothing on offense for about 27 min of the 2nd half, while UGA gradually got back in it and eventually taking the lead.
The fact they were able to do that is nuts.
I'm not sure how much coaching it takes to "chuck it deep" and benefit from a guy making a play. It was enough for Bama in the end, but Smart is a truly great in-game HC.

Yes. Plus 7-on-7. They're just doing a lot more competitive catching of footballs against other good teams.

Maybe you'd feel better about Fleck if he knowingly hid a felony gun charge of a team captain for 2 months until his team won the conference.

Purloined from a Buckeye Board
The Hoosiers lost the turnover battle by 4 saturday and still won by 2 TD's. IU is rolling. First time 5-0 since 1967. Crazy.

B1G/SEC to have a meeting, supposedly to talk about scheduling each other more often and about how they both want their top 4 teams to get auto bids in the playoff once this current playoff deal is up and the new one starts.

so, the top 4 teams in each league won't be playin the top 4 teams from the other league

They’re desperate, and rude, but man that is a tough situation.
That program was never particularly good in a smaller conference, and then they upgraded to the American. They had a young coach who shot a little from us and then flame out, and this was one of those weird big swings. And Lord, it ain’t working.

Seems like there are too many FBS schools in North Carolina.

Seems like there are too many FBS schools in North Carolina.
Georgia has a bunch today also. NC has a four in the ACC, so a "major" conference. I guess ECU is FBS now, Charlotte?
I don't keep up.
-
Coastal is also FBS now. There may be more. I lose track.
There is one in Wisconsin.
There are a lot down here. UF, UM, FSU, UCF, USF, FIU, FAU. Maybe more? I know FGCU has aspirations, but I'll be dead before that happens.

Texas has 13. I wonder which state has the most per capita? Ohio has a lot for its population, as I recall. North Carolina has a lot as pointed out above.
Texas FBS schools:
UT, A&M, Texas Tech, Baylor, TCU, SMU, Rice, Houston, North Texas, UTEP, UTSA, Texas State, Sam Houston State.

Gotta be Texas or Ohio.
-
it's not Iowa, Nebraska, or either of the Dakotas
-
Definitely not Texas. 30M people and 13 schools is about 1 school per 2.3M people.
Indiana is up there. 4 FBS schools and 6.85M people, or 1 per 1.7M.
North Carolina is 7 FBS in 10.84M people, or 1 per 1.55M.
But it looks like Ohio has 8 FBS schools in 11.8M people, or 1 per 1.48M.
Not sure there are any states that I can think of that would challenge Ohio on this one.

can't wait for this classic ACC match-up....
