Doubt it matters this week, but who keeps letting Georgia players drive?

Only one game tonight and it could be good. Arizona at Kansas State.

I think KSU takes it, at home.

This is NOT a conference game, as I understand it.

UNLV looks dangerous.  Ricky White is a dude.  Single handedly beat Michigan as a true freshman in 2020 at MSU, but got kicked out of school for legal issues.  Those guys frequently find their way to UNLV, just usually not in football

I think they are playing in the Chiefs stadium all year because theirs is being renovated.  Way to go Kansas.  The one time you are ranked in the preseason, you have to play off campus

This week isn't awful, but it also isn't good, so I feel like there is going to be much flipping going on.  With MSU finishing non-con at BC, I think Missouri-BC is my only must watch, but aside from that

I think their games in September and October are at the soccer stadium somewhere in KCKS, then November games are at Arrowhead.

It was a shady deal and Michigan fans are just going to have to take it. For all eternity probably.

Heck, we still give ags shit for all their probations and TV bans and bowl bans back in the 80s when their coaches were Fedexing giant wads of cash to recruits.  Jackie $herrill is still know as "Fedex Jackie" in Austin, and always will be.

Driving I-5 here in another hour or two for a day in Los Angeles capped by going to UCLA’s first Big Ten game, kicking off Vs Indiana in the Rose Bowl. I’m carpooling with a group of IU fans, all Hoosier natives, one of whom, the organizer of our excursion, I know through a ministry he runs around the county. They are all looking forward to the Big Red Warm Up, a tailgate and rally for IU alumni,  that will take place before kickoff.

I will skip this pre-game event and get dropped off in Westwood at my UCLA buddy’s place who will also be going to today’s game. We’ll watch a few quarters of today’s earlier games before heading over to Pasadena. We are all sitting in Indiana’s visitor section. I’m wearing my only UCLA shirt, which barely counts - a 2021 Holiday Bowl T-shirt featuring UCLA & NC State helmets that I bought right outside the stadium moments before the game was unceremoniously cancelled due to Covid concerns. First time in Rose Bowl - will post game pics!

Weather was pretty decent for for this morning’s 8 mile run.

For some reason, my apartment complex is giving away a free brunch, so we will be collecting that, then cleaning up and making our way to the badger bar at noon.

Gonna try to rehydrate/dehydrate, have a nice meal there in the third quarter, Then come back home and watch more football while working on a couple of side hustle projects.

The amount of excitement here in the Twin Cities for today's game borders on contemptuous.

While it's easy to bag on the lack of students in the north end at kickoff, I'll give UW admin some grief, too. Student egress into Camp Randall has been terrible for 20+ years, almost intentionally so.

Michigan is just not a good team. O-line looks brutal. Qb can’t hit a tight end on target.  And while typing Mullings breaks one which he has clearly looked remarkably better than Edwards. Edwards puts his head down and runs up the middle every time.  Gonna be a long season.

Jake Butt is about as awful at announcing as Davis Warren is at playing QB. JFC I’m probably going to gouge my eyes and ears out watching this one.

Warren only threw 2 passes and both of them were bad throws, one late and took forever to get there and another was behind as fuck and his receiver bailed him out on. Either one of those are competent throws they go for much bigger gains.

OL will gel. Give it time.

Edwards is what he is at this point. Feast or famine and lacks the vision which made Corum so great.

Oh and Davis Warren fucking sucks. Kid has zero awareness. In that situation you just eat it. Every time. Trying to be a hero and make a Superman play and the fucking dipshit doesn’t realize he ain’t that guy. He’s a walk on. He’s not a 5 star hot shot Heisman big time talent like a Johnny Manziel or Cam Newton who can make that kind of play. What. The. Fuck.

I thought this last year and I still think it this year. Decision makers at this program are idiots. Mullings is CLEARLY the better back. Edwards paused in the backfield and doesn’t know how to shift left or right. Open hole, he’s a beast, but how often does that happen?

qb situation? You have to truly be a moron to keep going down this path. I don’t want to hear crap about experience.

Edwards is what he is at this point. It’s maddening that he STILL can’t figure out pass blocking and that his vision hasn’t developed. He’s incredible in space with the ball in his hands. Problem is he has difficulty reading the holes and finding the open space. He still hasn’t figured out how to cut back….

that was such an embarrassing win. If Orji isn’t the starter at QB going forward what are we even doing here?

Davis Warren simply put cannot play.

Mullings need to be the starter at RB as well and Edwards the change of pace guy.

That kid is going to spend the rest of his life not living up to his fill-in role vs ND those years ago.  Sometimes, acknowledging reality has to come into play, right?

The blindside block is the worst rule in the game, well except for the slide rule for quarterbacks. But good lord, all the refs threw flags because the quarterback got blocked by someone he wasn't staring at, which took a touchdown off the board.

I respectfully disagree.   The production of this game has been shoddy.   Herby keeps thinking about rules which are nfl rules from 20 years ago.

I was curious about that one so I researched it. It seems that targeting has replaced spearing, which was not only banned to protect a ballcarrier but also to try to get defenders to stop leading with the crown of the helmet. And if you lead with the crown of the helmet, all of the "defenseless player" and "forcible contact to the head and neck" doesn't matter.

Dude looked to be leading with the crown of the helmet.

Yeah, the crown of the helmet is not for being an egregious tackle but to avoid the defenders breaking their own necks.

They'll get away with it against these teams. But the next three teams on the docket are Iowa, Michigan, and Southern Cal, all of which are a country mile better than anything you've seen so far.

This has been a very boring game so far.

Michigan is just not a good team. O-line looks brutal. Qb can’t hit a tight end on target.  And while typing Mullings breaks one which he has clearly looked remarkably better than Edwards. Edwards puts his head down and runs up the middle every time.  Gonna be a long season.
This is almost exactly the point I was trying to make about Edwards the other day when @Mdot21 (https://www.cfb51.com/index.php?action=profile;u=1595) accused me of being obsessed and whatever.

I don't get it with Edwards. His talent seems off the charts but the results are meh.

It was a shady deal and Michigan fans are just going to have to take it. For all eternity probably.
This type of thing is basically why I come here.

I could easily get an anti-Michigan take on a tOSU board.

I could easily get @Mdot21 (https://www.cfb51.com/index.php?action=profile;u=1595) 's take on a M board.

From what I've seen here, the neutral fans are almost unanimously against M on the scandal. It IS a big deal.

It also could get a whole lot worse:
https://youtu.be/mkDkQof4Uwk?si=y5ZjT0ZezpbqtPhp

We already know that employees of scUM ran a massive cheating operation in a successful effort to manipulate their own results. If they also attempted to manipulate the ACC and SEC races that blows this thing out to a whole new level.

Rose Bowl last night - angle doesn’t show just how well Hoosier fans packed their several sections around the stadium. They were very glad to make the trip and arrived in force.

UCLA does play in the Rose Bowl Stadium,  so I guess it's a chance for fans of Big Ten teams that never play in the Rose Bowl game,  to at least see your team play a game in the Rose Bowl Stadium.
This is the most Big Ten answer possible.

It's full-circle from us playing 12 times in 10 years with both ranked in the top 10 the last week of the regular season.

No other rivalry can touch that.  And now it's the opposite.

Hmm... 1994. When there was no NIL, no transfer portal, no 12-team playoff, no CFP, no BCS, no conference realignment centered around getting eyeballs on the screen for your conference's captive network for monetary reasons...

That sounds terrible
