I suppose we haven't had one, because I think I might very well be the last Purdue fan to regularly post here, and until Purdue sucked me back in by making the Final Four, I'd been on a 2 year hiatus.
So I know little to nothing about the team or what to expect. Except, of course, that when it comes to recruiting, Purdue is a well below average Big Ten team coming off a 4-8 (3-6) season and now has to add the Ducks to the schedule, as well as Notre Dame OOC for the first time in a long while.
But we got new uniforms (https://www.hammerandrails.com/2024/7/12/24197313/purdue-football-releases-new-uniforms)!

Initial reaction? The word "Purdue" is far out of proportion to the size of the number.

New unis make a huge difference.

Those uni's are clean looking. I like that.

This is a pretty daunting slate. 4-8 with this schedule would be a sign of improvement.

I think there are some definite tiers in the schedule:
- Definite loss: @OSU, Wisconsin, Oregon, Notre Dame, Penn State -- Purdue gets 4 out of 5 at home, which won't help the win total, but at least they'll sell some tickets!
- Likely loss: Nebraska, @MSU -- I think Nebraska will honestly cruise, but they drop from definite to likely due to it being early in the season with a raw QB and at home. @MSU is similar with a new coach, but being on the road and late in the season after they've found their feet probably doesn't help Purdue contend.
- Toss-ups: @Oregon State, @Illinois, Northwestern, @IU. These are all teams that I think Purdue is probably in similar levels to talent-wise. Which makes it terrible for us that three of four are on the road. Especially the trip out west, where Purdue has seemed to have consistent trouble. That said, I don't think any of these teams are scary on paper (not that we are either).
- Definite win: Indiana State -- I mean, FCS.
5-7 would definitely be overachieving this year.
-
Husker's first road game on the 28th and they will have 4 games under their belt
-
Bold Boilers prediction: they go 6-6 and to a bowl.
-
Sorry. I do not see six wins.

So not exactly about the team...
My daughter was looking for an idea of what to draw and I suggested Purdue Pete.
She freehanded this from looking at Google images...
