We have a plethora of toss-up games, at least according to the point spreads listed in my phone:
- Wisconsin 2-1/4-2 -2.5 at Illinois 1-3/3-4, 3:30 FS1
- Minnesota 1-2/3-3 +3.5 at Iowa 3-1/6-1, 3:30 NBC
- #7 Penn State 3-0/6-0 +3.5 at #3 Ohio State 3-0/6-0, noon Fox
- Rutgers 2-2/5-2 -5 at Indiana 0-3/2-4, noon BTN
- Northwestern 1-2/3-3 +12 at Nebraska 1-2/3-3, 3:30 BTN
- #2 Michigan 4-0/7-0 -24.5 at Michigan State 0-3/2-4, 7:30 NBC
Purdue and Maryland are off.
Four league games with spreads of 5 or less has to be close to some kind of record. That is a lot of games without a clear favorite.
In terms of the potential three-way B1G-E tiebreaker of record of B1G-W opponents:
- Wisconsin is a tOSU opponent, playing Illinois which is a PSU opponent.
- Minnesota is both a tOSU and a M opponent, playing Iowa which is a PSU opponent.
- Nebraska is a M opponent playing Northwestern which is a PSU opponent.
PSU currently leads this by 1/2 game over tOSU and 1.5 games over M.
If the favorites all win this weekend the new standings will be:
6-8 Penn State
- 4-1 Iowa (with win over MN)
- 1-3 Northwestern (with loss to UNL)
- 1-4 Illinois (with loss to UW)
5-7 Ohio State:
- 3-1 Wisconsin (with win over IL)
- 1-3 Minnesota (with loss to IA)
- 1-3 Purdue (idle)
4-8 Michigan:
- 2-2 Nebraska (with win over NU)
- 1-3 Minnesota (with loss to IA)
- 1-3 Purdue (idle)
That is a razor thin margin between PSU's B1G-W opponents (0.428) and Ohio State's (0.417). Minnesota, Illinois, or Northwestern pulling an upset would change things dramatically.

NW being a 12 point underdog at Neb is a little surprising, given that Neb lost to Minn and NW beat Minn.
-
Makes perfect sense however all my years in the waging wars taught me one thing, well two actually. The only way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.
And just because Team A beats Team B and Team B beats Team C doesn't imply or make certain Team A beats Team C

well, when 8 teams are averaging fewer than 20 points per game...........

Northwestern faces some uncertainty at quarterback this week.

Rutgers should be at least a touchdown favorite at IU. I'd be completely shocked if IU was within 10 points of an opponent for the rest of the season.

Rutgers better hope you are right because they are 5-2 and need one more win to go bowling. That may sound easy but after Indiana they have a week off then:
- Vs tOSU
- At Iowa
- At PSU
- Vs UMD

Two of those 4 are tough
