It's on NBC Saturday at 7:30 PM ET. This rivalry game is usually nasty and I expect the same despite the disparity in records and the Mel Tucker melt down. Let's not forget the tunnel incident at Michigan last year. You can bet the players and fans haven't. Surprised Michigan State agreed to play this game at night. Sparty has lost four in a row and is looking for five with Michigan being favored by 23.

all teams are told what time they will kickoff by the networks, not just MSU

yup. the networks pick the kickoff times.
as for the game, on paper Michigan *should* win comfortably given MSU is in shambles and without a head coach and Michigan is starting to hit their gear and have just been absolutely pummeling everyone they play- but this one is a nasty rivalry with bad blood on both sides- and anything can happen in those types of true rivalry games.
Lot of people are writing Sparty off and acting like this is just another creampuff on Michigan's schedule, but I have a feeling this is going to be the toughest game Michigan has played to date and that it's going to be closer than people think. In a rivalry game like this throw out the records, just win. Don't care if you win by 1 point, just win.

That's not necessarily true. For example, Michigan told the Big Ten and TV people that there will be no week night football games in Ann Arbor.
-
whatever
the Big Ten protects Michigan and Ohio St. from week night games
so far, Nebraska hasn't played a friday night game at home, just on the road
there's a pecking order and Michigan is near the top, but....... the networks own the conference
-
Even after expansion, this conference will still be the Big Two and Little Eighteen.

I dunno,Oregon/Washington coming in will have a say. USC had a setback but can't count them out - Bruins are a bit af a head scratcher. IMO Sparta will rise again as will PSU be in the mix. Hopefully the rest of you lumps will jump in the fray UW/UNL etc.,etc.,etc.

I don't necessarily disagree, but the Buckeyes did play @ Northwestern on a Friday in 2019.

The only one of the West Coast expansions that might crack the Big Two in their current form is Southern Cal. UCLA hasn't mattered since Troy Aikman, and when Phil dies the taps dry up at Oregon and they go back to obscurity. Washington? If and only if they win a natty.
-
Good take but when Phil kicks I'm sure he'll make some $$$ arrangements and by that time their footprint will be firmly established. Hell even the Bugeaters may rise again as long as the Cali kids can take west coast trips home. Sort of like when they were in the Big SWC with the Texas teams & recruited those kids
-
USC?? Nebraska???
it's not about wins and losses
and the powers that be, OSU, MU and the conference will do everything in their power to make sure OSU and MU get the advantages to remain the biggest winners

yes, the Huskers have played away on a Friday night, but not at home.
Michigan, Ohio St. will not play a friday or thursday game at home

Sparty is back in black Saturday night..

Nice rollout, to lose 49-7 and never wear them again
-
I believe I heard they'll be selling beer inside the stadium for the first time on Saturday night.

what could go wrong?

No, they have all season, except for the opener against CMU
-
wish this was a noon kickoff and not a 7:30. getting tired of watching late night Michigan games. I think this is the 3rd one and Purdue is going to be the 4th one.
Noon kick off and 3:30 I like, 7:30, I don't like.
-
think this might be the week that Donovan Edwards gets back on track and has a breakout game. He's obviously capable of it as he showed in flashes as a true frosh and last year down the stretch. Think he has a big game this week and has his coming out party. Finally.

With a top 5 ranking comes prime time

Parker Fleming's statsowar advanced cfb stats football model gives Michigan a 96% win probability and has Michigan winning 37-11

Sanders and Payton are pulling for him

MSU DB Dillon Tatum guarantees a win vs Michigan. Let them do the talking, hope no one at Michigan responds in the media, just keep quiet and handle business on the field this Saturday night.

Drunken Sparty fans remember the hosing they got in Michigan last season might liven things up

that stadium is probably going to be close to 40-50% Wolverine fans. there are still a shitload of tickets for sale on Stubhub and SeatGeek for pretty cheap, you can get 30-35 yard line seats on the home side for $135 right now- my guess is the Sparty season ticket holders just giving them away right now. similar seats for Ohio State @ Michigan on the Michigan sideline- like $950- starting at.
-
I would like to attend one of these games when Sparty is feeling better. Always can count on a lot of froth and it's not manufactured - it's a thing
-
When it comes to Michigan State, Jeem plays the merciless mafioso who leaves enemy corpses on the sidewalk for the rest of the neighborhood to view while driving by the next morning.
Meaning expect Michigan to hand Michigan State a determined beating. 52-10. No less than sending the student section off to the bars by early 3rd quarter.

One jerk popping off is hardly a referendum on the whole team

He said he believes they are going to win. Big difference, and I hope every kid on every team in the country believes they are going to win. If not, don't even suit up
“You all can doubt us all you want, but we’re going to come out there and give them our best shot,” Tatum said. “This is the game. The game. For real. It’s important. It matters, and it matters the freaking most. We’re going to go out there and ball I believe. And I believe we’re going to win this football game.”

You've been warned Sparty...all your signs are Harbaugh's too.

And that would be a forfeit by Sparty.
