Kickoff is at 3:30 ET on Fox and Michigan is favored by 17 points. The last time Michigan was in Lincoln the Huskers made a game of it.

You can see after four games where Nebraska is heading and by and large thats an improved state as a program. The short term problem is a lack of playmaking or skilled players offensively. They will not have any mismatches to exploit. OL is not strong.
They will struggle offensively the entire year.
Heinrich isn't the worst stop gap by any stretch, but going to be hard to see this team score more than 28 in any game, let alone get to the 20s.
I like what I see w the defense and the organization of the team.

it's not going to be like last time

I think the new clock rules coupled with Michigan's style are why the Wolverines are "only" scoring in the 30's each game despite the weak opposition.
Against Rutgers the Wolverines only had seven possessions. Six were fairly successful and they scored on four of them but "only" ended up with 31 points:
- 1:27, three-and-out
- 3:31, 7 plays, 94 yards, TD
- 5:20, 9 plays, 42 yards, missed FG
- 5:44, 11 plays, 79 yards, TD
- 7:53, 14 plays, 62 yards, FG - even though this was only a FG it essentially put the game away because it burned more than half of the third quarter and stretched the lead to two scores at 17-7.
- 5:03, 9 plays, 66 yards, TD
- 6:57, 10 plays, 59 yards, End of game. Michigan took over up 31-7 on their own 19 with 6:57 to go and held the ball to the end at the RU 26.
Note that Michigan got a Pick-6, three offensive TD's, and one FG.
All-in-all, that is a pretty successful day for an offense. Only one three-and-out and every other drive went at least 7 plays and at least 42 yards and Michigan had a defensive TD and they still only scored 31.
-
Penn State only scored 31 vs the Hawks and that was complete domination
17 points
20-3
or
24-6
27-10?? maybe
31-14?? doubtful

Rhule, during his weekly press conference on Monday, recounted Harbaugh’s work as Michigan’s head coach, and discussed many aspects of Harbaugh’s philosophy that he’s looking to install in Lincoln as he looks to transform the program.
“He’s had a real impact on the game … his blueprint for building that program, for the way that they play, a lot of those things are similar,” he said. “Obviously we want to have a little bit of an option element at times, too, so there’s differences, but the overarching blueprint for being great on the ‘O’ and ‘D’ lines, having good quarterback play, being physical at tight end, all those things, that’s what we’re doing.”

The data suggests Michigan is overrated. While the Wolverines' defense is rated sixth overall, their level of competition has been light, facing only East Carolina, UNLV, Bowling Green and Rutgers -- all at home. Now they will face the top-rated Husker rush defense (nationally) on the road. This will force Michigan to pass and Nebraska will have two takeaways in the form of interceptions as the pass rush will cause J.J. McCarthy to force errant throws. The Michigan offense is ranked 60th in the nation. The law firm of Haarberg/Grant will again rush for 300 yards. The game will be tied 28-28 at end of regulation. Tristan Alvano will shock the Big Ten with a walk-off field goal to win the game in overtime.

It just wont be as much fun beating the Huskers without Scott Frost on the sideline. Forecast high of 93 and wind in Lincoln on Saturday.

Like Iowa I hope the 'Skers defense can score points. And that one good LB they had portaled to booger. Could be over by the half but here's hoping the Bug Eaters upset the apple cart

Lol. What data?
SP+ has Michigan #1 overall and predicts them to beat Nebraska 34-11.
Advanced Stats gives Michigan a 97+% win probability and predicts them winning 36-7.

It’s a daunting challenge Saturday as the Huskers host No. 2 Michigan, the highest-ranked team to visit Memorial Stadium in 16 years.

Hold it you stated when I said Booger portaled well on the O-Line you basically said horseshit. So where did he come from?:cheer:

Haarberg vs Harbaugh
This will be the most option second-year Michigan defensive coordinator Jesse Minter has schemed against. The last time the Wolverines saw much option was in 2019, when they beat Army 24-21 in two overtimes.
“Stopping the run and being able to run the ball is a winning formula in football,” Harbaugh said. “We’re just going to have to play good. It will be a game of blocking, tackling, focusing on fundamentals, reads, getting off blocks, defeating blocks, playing assignment, being in the right alignment, being in the right technique, a lot of focus on real football.”
NEBRASKA NICE
Michigan offensive lineman Trevor Keegan still marvels at how nice Nebraska fans were after his team’s visit in 2021.
“We beat them and they’re like, `Hey, congratulations, great game! You played so well!’” Keegan recalled. “I thought, `Are they messing with me?’ But then like 20 more of them did the same thing.”

great prediction.
Michigan made Nebraska look like a high school team. Could've beaten them 70-0 in their own house if Jeem didn't take his foot off the gas pedal in the 3rd QTR and unload the bench.
-
agreed
Hopefully, Michigan is a top 5 team.
and therefore Nebraska is really bad, but not horribly bad
-
JJ stat line through week 5
79% completion, 1,071 passing yards, 11 TD's (10 pass, 1 rush) vs 3 INT's (WTF Bowling Green game), 116 rush yards (7.3 YPC), 94.2 QBR, 190.4 QB Rating
Even with that god awful Bowling Green game, JJ is leading the nation in ESPN QBR with 94.2 through 5 weeks
