There is a growing consensus the only way to fix the long game times is to get rid of commercial breaks. Eventually there will be 2 streaming services. One with no adds where you pay more. The other where you pay less but the service will cut away from the live action to show commercials while live action continues. The good news is without commercial breaks, the games will go faster for fans in the stands.

That'll teach us for bitching about too many commercials and never ending games.

The games are taking LONGER now.
Take away 5 minutes/game. Add 15 minutes of commercials. I read this last week.
Game is 10 minutes longer for fans in the stands (I never minded - enjoyed being there).
Why? CBS, NBC and Fox said so with a Billion dollars.

billions
a streaming service with no commercials is going to coast A SHIT TON of $$$
and it's not worth it because, the game will be stopped for the other folks that are enjoying the commercials w/o the fee.
I don't think it will happen

I watched the Dawgs play by streaming (at a bar) and the commercial breaks had "Commercial Break" streaming across the screen, no commercials. It was worse.

I think they will phase it in slowly. First they will do it once in middle of 1Q. Just go to commercial while live action continues. Then once each quarter. Then for half the breaks. Then for all breaks except last 2 minutes of the game. People will get used to it and will wonder why there was a time people stood around for 30 minutes and did nothing.

live action is worth $$$
