This team is really bad. Its not just miscues it's lack of discipline and bad play selection and lack of player talent and effort and lack of concern and bad quarterback play and playing defeated after the first half of the first game of the season and.... and... and...
What was that UF ADs name? Foley, maybe? He was the best AD in the NCAA.... my how that program and university has fallen since then...
Napier needs to start job lookin...
I didn't expect anything near perfection from them, but this team is as bad as any UT team from post Fulmer through Mr. Brick by brick himself.
I hate the gators, but.... I want to see them at their best when we play them else it doesn't hold the prestige... I haven't even seen this UT team on the field yet (nobody has) and even in Gainseville I figure this a tick in the win column for big orange.

I guess the mistakes could be cleaned up. On the road against a ranked team is going to be tough, but you have no chance with the mistakes and lack of discipline.
I doubt Napier is fired this year, next year could be pivotal.
-
Indeed, they looked mediocre in their best moments. Lots to work on for the Gators, not sure how quickly some of them could be remedied.

Florida sucking eggs doesn’t bother me a nary.
-
It just depends if there's noticeable progress or not.
The schedule is among the toughest in the country....bad timing on that.
So much can be remedied....but will it?
.
Very different team than last year - hardly any of the same players out there on the field. A lot of young guys playing. Time will tell.

All I can say Florida looked better in their second game than TN did. Florida improved and TN looked worse. TN should have blown AP out in the first half but struggled to get an ugly win.
It may not be the cake walk people thought it was going to be if QB play for TN doesn't improve or if a different QB doesn't play.
You can't go three and out multiple times in the SEC and win ball games I don't care which team you're playing. You certainly won't do it against Georgia or Alabama and maybe not in the Swamp it's hard enough to win there anyway.
-
Well, they were playing McNeese. Even the more hapless Florida teams of the last decade have still blown out inferior teams pretty well.
I don't think there's anything there--and probably nothing from Tenn/AP either--that translates to anything meaningful for their game this weekend.

UT might want Napier back in the oven. He may be cooked but he's not done.

Tennessee has massive issues...
The lack a field general- ol Joe tried to change play once tonight and was overruled by the sideline... the coaches have no faith in him.
The qb doesn't inspire the team.... at all.
The OC is terrible at play selection and that's likely due to questions at QB.
The OLine was lost... so was the DLine... the backers and secondary throw shoulders while turning away from carriers as they pass them by- as if "a bump will do it"...
I heard an announcer say today, so I thought I'd study on it that Huep has a really good first and often second season in new jobs and then trails off... I hope that isn't the case...
I know it was trash time, but late Ole Joe threw several good passes in a row- accounting for 34 yards in three plays and to the primary receiver. When he plays with nothing to lose? He isn't too shabby.. playing scared? He's not the answer. The question I can't answer is "is this on Joe and his issues or on the coaches playing/calling the plays in scared?"...
If Nico goes in we'll get to see more of where they're at.
On the flip side, anyone who keeps up with these things now sees how good a QB hooker was, and that his success had less to do with the system than his talent. ...... Detroit fans ought to feel better about that pick tonight than they did last night.
-
The refs didn't help UT any, but they didn't lose them the game, either. That backup center was BRUUUUTAL.

Some early conclusions about teams and coaches are .... too early. I'm guilty of this as well despite having made this mistake repeatedly over the years.
