That IS fun.  Sounds way more enjoyable than playing a bunch of patsies.

Texas plays 3, 16,17,19, and 24.  Not quite as challenging but should still make for some good games.

The older I get, the more I believe that people really like the idea of this, and then as soon as the reality hits, not a ton of joy.

I can see that, but it's the opposite for me.  I've made specific efforts to change my thinking and enjoy the games themselves, rather than just worrying over the outcomes.  It's the GAMES that are supposed to be fun to watch.

Sure, I'd rather win than lose, and I'd rather win all the games and the conference championship and national championship, than not.  But that outcome is unlikely even for the BEST teams each season, the odds are stacked against you and unless you're Alabama, there aren't any mulligans. :)

So why not just focus on the games themselves?  If they don't bring you joy, then really you should be doing something else with your time.

I think with the expanded 12 team playoff tough scheduling isn't going to matter as much bc losses aren't going to kill you.

you're still gonna be in the playoff with 2-3 losses if you're from the B1G/SEC....so....level up the schedule.

I think the smaller outcomes still matter. Most folks would rather trample bad Northwestern than lose a tight one to OSU. Granted the latter means the former is more likely, but if you get too many of the latter, folks get real crabby.

(I agree that the games should be fun to watch, and that’s why I’ll watch just a ton of games. I’m already interested in Ohio-SD state and Hawaii-Vandy. Might even flip on some Rich Rod O that first day)
