Hendon Hooker is not among the four finalist invited to NY for the presentation .
The Heisman continues to be a joke.

Hooker wasn’t going to win the Heisman, but damned if he didn’t deserve to be invited.
So Stetson Bennett nabs his spot. Wonderful.

which five teams have the most living heisman trophy winners? ever wonder why that gap between them and the rest of the teams keeps getting wider?
who doesn't have a single heisman winner? a player from UT would have to be absolutely jaw dropping sensational to actually walk that stage- the kind of sensational that the trophy would instantly lose all credibility for if they didn't.
i lost ALL regard for that thing after manning lost to a defensive player after espn squalked all season about defensive players being snubbed... shit, yall, that may be the beginning of espn realizing the clout and influence they had... they packaged that thing for woodsen... i thought "okay- that was a screwby" but it was the next or the following season one of the most amazing players i've ever seen play lost it to an overweight defensive tackle playing RB named dayne who carried the rock damn near every snap as everyone marvelled at his yardage (which broke ricky williams iirc, and while williams carried the rock somehting like half the carries dayne did)- the player who was snubbed? Antwon Randell El... that kid was jaw dropping good as a QB, a DB, a kick/put returner, a TB, a WR, a punter and every damn thing on the field shy of lineman.
he played for Indiana who despite having one of the best players in college in the modern era- couldn't sniff hardly any wins that season. that damn sure wasn't Randell El's fault, though.

Stetson Bennett IV is a good QB on the most talented team in the nation. Over the past 5 years the Georgia recruiting rankings have averaged #2 in the nation. Tennessee, I believe either 16 or 17 but Georgia didn’t lose 30 plus players to the transfer portal 2 years ago.
Stetson Bennett is a blessed young man to be playing for Georgia because if he played anywhere else most of us wouldn’t know his name. He’s not a great player and he’s nowhere close to the best player in the nation. The Heistman Trophy has become a popularity contest trophy.
Hendon Hooker wins SEC player of the year yet Stetson Bennett is a Heistman Trophy finalist. Again, the Heistman is a popularity contest. It lost all of its glitter years ago.

College football and basketball are so damn dysfunctional I guess it adds to the allure of them.
From a competition standpoint the discrepancy in talent across the participants and the manner that talent is assembled is asinine…… even pee wee leagues have better system for creating equitable teams
Then you have scheduling !!! Even in little league you don’t get to pick 1/3 of your schedule
This weekend a CFP team loses their game and remains the exact same seed as they were going into the game
The Heisman obviously was nothing more than a 10 day beauty contest this year
Yet here I am still watching this cesspool of an athletic endeavor

While it is weird TCU could lose and stay at 3, I'm not sure what else makes more sense.
I'm not sure being a finalist is more than an asterisk. If you win, you might get on some fairly clever commercials some day.

The Heisman has an always will be a complete farce when selecting their winners. In it's early years they Yankee press was prejudiced against Southern players that's why Paul Hornung from a losing Notre Dame team won over Johnny Majors.
You have to take into account the media makes up most of the voters. Most are clueless about sports in general much less college football and probably haven't seen anyone they voted for play.
Todays voters tune into ESPN and other sports shows to see who those dumb asses are promoting and vote accordingly.
Hooker hasn't had an honorable mention since getting injured. The last fifteen seconds of the BAMA game should have won him the Heisman.

Former winners also get a vote, and it's ostensibly not for the "best player" as the sole criterion.

The media has the vast majority of the votes 870 of slightly over 900.
If you don't think Hookers stats and how he played earned him at least an invitation it's obvious you don't know squat about the subject being discussed.

The Heisman is given to a player "whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity" and who "epitomize great ability combined with diligence, performance, and hard work."
And Peyton being shafted out of the award under the pretense of "It's not a lifetime achievement Award", kinds of begs the question of why the mighty manlet Stetson Bennett was invited with his whopping 16 TD passes in the regular season.

I don’t know about y’all but if the above statement doesn’t describe the QB for USCw then I don’t know what does. Against Utah he had “F^€k Utah” written on his fingernails. Great guy. Mom and Dad should be proud. The coach of USCw should be proud. A great representative of college football in 2022.

He had the same message painted on his fingernails for the Notre Dame game. It was a national story.
So apparently Lincoln Riley, the USC AD, and the President of USC don't give a rip.
